1 month ago Fantastic experience: I really like what they have, I got a GameCube controller and have been using it every day! They have a good stock of SNES games and some other stuff, I also saw a Wii u and classic Wii controller last time I went!

2 months ago Fantastic experience: A very nice, under-the-radar place. They have a lot of good games and hardware on offer, and they seem to do a good job filtering out the shovelware, so no need to sift through dozens of copies of not-so-nice games to find what you want. The store is very clean and well kept, and the staff is very nice.
3 months ago Fantastic experience: Owner runs the shop and is incredibly nice. The shop is legit too. Lots of desirable new and used games and also new accessories for old systems (cables, memory cards, batteries, converters, controllers, etc). He offers battery replacements for Gameboy cartridges as well. Definitely a local shop I'll be supporting.

3 months ago Positive experience: I want to start off the review by saying this rating has nothing to do with the environment for play or the workers, I did not interact much so it could be great place to play. My review is specifically for the prices and buying product because I went there based on the reviews saying the prices were great and then left almost immediately because that was not true. I went there the day before One Piece EB03 came out and they were selling for over double the MSRP. It is their right to sell at whatever price they want, but if I wanted to spend scalper prices I can just go to the scalpers, and because all the reviews I read before going talked about fair prices I wanted to make sure it was out there that they do raise the prices and to be aware before making a trip out there.

Hi Xavier, this is Farid, the owner of WD Games. I want to apologize for the bad experience the other day. The individual who made that negative comment is not affiliated with the store. After what occurred that day, I made the decision to ban that individual from returning.
Regarding pricing, we price TCGs and video games to the secondary market. Most of our game and TCG prices are automatically updated. The majority of our card singles and video games are priced below market, and we consistently sell sealed trading card boxes below market price at release.
A negative experience matters to me, and I want our store to be a positive place for the community. If you’re open to it, I’m available to speak directly to address your concerns.

I’ve been to this store several times now and each experience has been great. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. I have traded in cards for store credit. The owner is up front about his rates. His prices are fair and accurate with current market rates. The shop is clean, well-organized and has a large variety of products. Highly recommend!

4 months ago Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service. I bought an NES and a few games from the proprietor. When I got home, the nes was not reading cartridges well. I called this store, and the guy told me I could bring it in and he'd fix it on the spot. The crazy part is by the time I brought it back, it was past closing time. This guy stayed past closing time to make sure a product he sold me would work the same day.

The prices are reasonable, and the owner/operator is just about the friendliest dude you can imagine. Looks like they just started carrying comix too. Wish I lived closer. This place is rad. 7 months ago Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for years. I’m an online seller and this is my go to for what I need to be able to sell online. Great selections or cords/ cables for just about every system. Cheapest disc resurfacing in the area. (I’ve probably had around 100 discs resurfaced here) Decent trade in credit. The game section here is consistently getting better, (your doing a great job bro) The only question is what does WD stand for?

I’d say Pokemon is their main attraction for a lot of the people I’ve seen in the store, but Magic is stocked there as well. They also do have video games there, current and retro. The owner is a very nice guy and always working when I’m in there. My go to card shop.

1 year ago Negative experience: Should be 0 stars. Called ahead of time to even see if they bought this and he even offered to give me an estimate and I said sure. $90 cash or $120 store credit. Brought it in, picks it up turns it and sets it down “I’m not interested, is it you who called?” Walked right out. Rude, that’s why you have 0 business and you definitely do NOT deserve a 4.7. Do better.

Currently we are only set up to purchase newer consoles in like-new condition. We have had a lot of bad experiences with people bringing faulty or compromised systems, so we tend to be a bit stricter when it comes to condition. I spent some time reflecting on what had happened and I want to take steps in the future to create some policies that allow us to accept more consoles.
I don’t know the circumstances that led you to sell your Xbox since that’s your personal business, but I can imagine how upsetting it would be, hypothetically, to rely on a payout, rush over to the store, and then be turned away. I’m genuinely sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyway, I wanted to reach out to make things right. Please let me know if there is anything I can do personally to assist.

1 year ago Fantastic experience: I've been getting my 8 year old daughter into collecting Pokemon cards so we have been hitting all the local shops and she's been loving it and I'm enjoying our time together :) We checked out WD today after reading some of the great reviews and were not disappointed. The staff was welcoming and personable. Specifically the girl at the counter who helped us out. She was super sweet to my daughter, she couldn't stop raving about her after we left! She even gave her a free Pokemon poster which she loved and made her feel extra special. She loves going through the boxes of individual cards and picking out the ones she thinks are cute, and we made a game where we had to pick 5 non shiny and 5 shiny ones (per her words) which was fun and then each picked out a couple packs behind the counter, because you gotta...catch em all. The packs were the most reasonable I've seen out of the places we have checked out, obviously not MSRP because they gotta pay their bills and live but they weren't outrageously priced so they was awesome. All in all a great experience and I think we might have found our new shop!

2 years ago Negative experience: Don’t spend your money here. Out of the 4 games I bought here only 1 worked. And on the last two they refused to give me a full refund. And only bought the 2 games back for 8 dollars. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. Oh yeah and the controller they sold me barely works

2 years ago Positive experience: Super cool shop & it’s right across the road from me. Their new packs and cards are priced great. Trade in value should be more. 58% is pretty low. I could understand 45-58% cash value but for trade should be closer to 65-75% Only thing I could complain about. My 4 year old son loved the store and was super happy to get new packs of Paradox rift for his doubles. Go check them out!
Hi Evan, we appreciate your continued support of our store! We try our best to offer competitive trade-in rates, but with new releases tending to deprecate in value it can be tough to offer high percentages since we are putting ourselves at risk of taking a loss. The other point I would like to mention is that we are able to project (estimate) our sales, and when we take our take our overhead into consideration, we are able to determine an appropriate cost of goods in order to stay afloat. I wish I had a fluffier answer, but it really comes down to the economics of the business. We try to work with people, so that everybody walks away happy. Thank you for you patronage.

First off my card’s definitely were not damaged man and all that stuff you turned down I sold for 100 and the dude that bought already sold and made money off it! So thanks for lowballing me ! And yes we did build a good rapport but when you do people dirty it makes them wanna not have a good rapport with you

3 years ago Fantastic experience: I've only seen one person in there and he knows just about anything about video games you could think of. Genuinely nice guy and a very clean and organized store. If you're into older games you can't find at other major retailers, this should and could be your first and only stop. Prices are probably the high point of this review. Some of the prices are incredibly low compared to eBay offerings and you're guaranteed it works or your money back (afaik). I've never had to bring anything back though and I've spent hundreds of dollars there at this point. They even have some consoles that are in excellent condition considering their age. Overall if you're a "retro" gamer and need games or just want to check them out it's worth the drive just to look around. They even sell new copies of new titles (Pokemon etc) and used copies of current generation (PS5 and Xbox) for good deals. 10/10 experience and customer service it doesn't get better than this for a game store.

3 years ago Negative experience: Seeing the sign the says they buy board games, I went in to sell some brand new games that I no longer would like in my collection to be told they only buy Pokemon cards and consoles. Why advertise that you are buying games if you aren't? Didn't even look at what I had just an automatic no. I don't think I could spend my money at a place that advertises falsely. Makes it hard to trust.

Yes, we do advertise that we "Buy and Sell", but that does not necessarily mean that we are buying all of the categories we stock. We reserve the right to refuse any transaction at our own discretion.
You had specified we had given you a "flat out no" which is incorrect. I had given examples of some board games that we may be interested in in addition to the other products we may be buying.
I would appreciate it if you did not return to my establishment.

4 years ago Fantastic experience: Sold some video games here, incredible deals on used GameCube games and games on other systems. They also have playing cards, board games, a social area for gamers, and incredibly good customer service. A hidden gem!
