Negative experience: Staff needs some lessons in running a register. Clerk added a protection plan to my bill without asking and only mentioned it after the card reader went life. Borderline scamming people at this store, never mind the unskippable membership signup cutscene. Please address these predatory sales tactics, I expect much better from a chain retail store…

Negative experience: It was disappointing to hear from staff that the store has been out of bags since November. It's unacceptable especially when customers are purchasing expensive merchandise/gifts, especially during the holiday rush. The staff even responded that they've made multiple requests to management, but to no success. Get it together!!

Negative experience: This store has been charging my card even though I have NEVER stepped foot in there. I tried disputing it with my bank, but the charges kept coming. I could hand them my photo ID and tell them to check every camera they’ve ever had for the last 20 years, they still wouldn’t find my face because I’ve literally never been there. Something is wrong with their system or someone is using customers information. Please check your statements.
Negative experience: Way too inefficient, everytime I’m here, someone brings in a mountain of games that they try to sell back, and it occupies the one cashier for half an hour, without being able to service anyone else. 3 people gave up waiting in the time I was there
Negative experience: One of the workers who is a short, black, 20-30ish man was really insufferable, so I asked the store manager for from trade ins I can do, one of them was a switch lite that I had, the store manager was gonna charge me money to charge my system to check if it was working. I asked them why are you guys doing that, they say it’s a protocol and people are supposed to come in with these kinds of systems charged. I can understand that but if you are gonna charge me to do that atleast ask for my consent if I even want that done to begin with. So while that system was charging the employee who I mention at the beginning of this. I wasent even talking to at first I actually tried to talk to the guy next to him, but he but in so I than talked to him about it. I asked some questions “why isn’t there a paper of requirements or detail for trade ins” he than told me it’s because people are expected to know that, I was suggesting this because even having it on a piece of paper can save everyone time and not have to deal with garbage. He than told me how for example a GameCube would need its power cord to turn the console on, I understand that however for the NINTENDO SWITCH all models use a USB C PORT which is LITERALLY THE SAME as modern apple and android phones which you can see anywhere. So when I told him that Nintendo switches use a USB C port he literally was like while looking down so I could tell he was irritated which really he didn’t have the right to be cause when the store manager heard he than gave me a quick answer “it needs to come with a cord atleast 6 feet long” which that alone was all I needed to hear about how they accept that kind of system. So after that was done I told the employee, thank you because like he did offer to talk. However he didn’t reply at all. Also all the workers talk smack about their customers right after they leave, even in front of other customers that’s like really petty of them as a business. TLDR I’m happy GameStop is going out of business

Negative experience: Horrible manager. I waited four hours in line in May to buy the switch two pre order and was told when I come in June 5th I don’t have to wait in line again. Today is June 5th came in after work and the manager made me wait in line with a bunch of people who haven’t paid even though I already did my time in the pre order line. I even called in the day before and confirmed I wouldn’t have to wait again and they said yes. It’s really disappointing the manager would act like this after their team even convinced me to buy the game stop pro member package to have extra perks. Even the security guard was disappointed in them for not honoring their promise.
Negative experience: This place is always a mess when it comes to operations. They never can provide the services that they advertise if it’s not one things it’s another. They never can take phone trade ins cause only certain people are trained so they’ll deny the service I come back another day and I have to buy them a charger because for some reason they don’t have an iPhone charger lmao. Get it together I’m at about at the point where ima file a bbb claim for the false advertising and wasting my time. The reps will be like you can go to the next city over to the next GameStop. Like how is that a solution bro ? It’s honestly hilarious no wonder they’re struggling.
Negative experience: They are always out of stock! I was trying to find pokemon games when the employee told me it was out of stock! Lame game stop!
Positive experience: Service was ok but I was really annoyed that they didn't have a bag big enough to fit my PS5 in. I take public transportation so riding MUNI and walking through the TL’s with a PS5 was not an option! I Ubered back home. Spending $700 and charging you a $1 for a bag should be a crime!

Positive experience: Small mall store, had to do a return but employee sent me to a faraway store because they don’t carry the game I was supposed to get online. Also offered to keep game if I didn’t wanted. Thankfully costumer service took a long time to reply but got me the game I wanted so that’s the best way to go. Store has a small variety of stuff, hardly any games. More like merchandise. Not sure if I wanna stop here for games. Would rather buy from them online.

Negative experience: Yo compre una consola de nintendo para mi hijo con garantía ahora que la quiero cambiar por uno nuevo porque el que compre esta dando problemas me dicen que me van a dar uno usado que si no estaba conforme con la idea que llamara a la compañía lo cual hice y me dijeron que la póliza habían implementando hace poco y no importba si yo había comprado mi producto antes de todas maneras no ivan a hacer nada y que hiciera lo que yo quisiera pedí hablar con un supervisor y la persona que me atendió me dijo que no me iva a comunicar con nadie porque el tenia la autoridad de hacer decisiones aun si no era manager aun yo explicándole que cuando compre la consola me dijeron que si algo pasaba con la consola me ivan a reemplazar uno nuevo ahora me dijeron que ellos no pueden absorver las pérdidas de algún producto malo eso es lo dejan que los clientes absovan las pérdidas lo cual me parece injusto

Negative experience: Paid online for the pickup order via PayPal, the money was written off my account, but within 2 hours I didn't receive any confirmation about my order from GameStop. Only after contacting the support I found out that the order number is 1100000067454829, but they didn't receive payment for the order. They told me that the problem is not on their end. PayPal support says that the funds are already on the merchant's account and awaiting for authorization by GameStop. So, they need to authorize or cancel the transaction (it is still in pending status). I asked the support of GameStop in written form to cancel the transaction in their business PayPal account, but they are not responding. According to the procedure, in order to open a dispute on PayPal, I need to wait one month till July 12, before that date I can't get my money back. I will never buy anything in GameStop, cause due to their glitchy system I wasn't able to buy Nintendo Switch games that I wanted, and I don't have at my disposal the money I transferred to them for those games .

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Service from Aldrich at Gamestop I just received exceptional customer service from Aldrich at Gamestop, and I couldn't be more impressed. As someone who is admittedly clueless about video games, I was pleasantly surprised by Aldrich's patience and extensive knowledge as he took the time to explain the details of various games to me. Despite my lack of knowledge about games, he didn’t made me feel out of place. Instead, he patiently listened to my questions and took the time to provide thorough explanations about different games, genres, and consoles. I was able to trade in my old PS4 controller for this new beautiful red one. I was credited $25 towards the new controller. No membership needed. Also had an epic nerdy conversation about the games we were playing

Positive experience: great store! employees are super nice and patient and they have a surprisingly good stock considering the store is rather small! they have a great selection of ds and 3ds games and an ok selection of switch and ps4 games as well. i think they recently got rid of the display with ps3 games but they still have them if you ask :) would recommend if you’re looking for new or pre-owned games or accessories.

I've bought several systems and gone overboard buying games here more than once. Not always the biggest selection but only because its a smaller mall location but they also always had wanted so I can't complain.
