Negative experience: I’m done supporting GameStop or any of their locations for Pokémon cards. The scalper-style pricing has gotten out of control, and I hope more people stop buying into it. I especially feel bad for kids who can’t even enjoy the hobby because products are being overpriced by adults and retailers chasing profit. What used to be a fun hobby for kids has turned into a money-driven market. Manufacturers seriously need to enforce MSRP on retailers like GameStop for Pokémon products—whether it’s packs, ETBs, booster boxes, tins, or other items. GameStop needs to do better.

Negative experience: Cashier didn't let me touch a box of sports cards I wanted to purchase. I wanted to read what comes inside the box, but he made me feel discouraged about buying it. The cashier also saves pokemon for their friends and family members. He tried to tell me lies on pricing about bringing my card here for grading. This place clearly needs new management and staff. Update: I don't know where they get their TCG cards, sports cards from, but I know for a fact that they sell resealed packs, box etc... I purchased a box and the top chase card I pulled was damage with a dent on top of the card very visible like someone push down on it when trying to put it in a top loader, damaging the card making it less valuable but no other cards in the same pack has the same damage, how is that possible? RESEALED!!! and on top of that I got the most awful numbered card that someone switched out. I will never step foot in this janky establishment anymore and will be contacting corporate and call a local journalist to do a story about this place.

Negative experience: 2 hours before closing and the gates are shut.. no sign on the door, so either they are getting busy in the back, or the workers just quit. updated Review 1-11-26.. 30 minutes before closing and doors locked.. went to GameStop in the mall.. just reload this GameStop if you can, they don’t care

Negative experience: I have delt with the horrible customer service on the phone (their call center) it has been over 2 weeks no refund no digital gift card as they said, they refuse to transfer to a supervisor or manager. Had another purchase about same time online for a Pokémon card that still hasn’t shipped called to cancel since they would let me do it online or in app and order still hasn’t been cancelled and no refund for this order either. This downhill company owes me over $120 in refund between the two orders and can’t get in in 2weeks really? I did the pro membership (regretfully) and I don’t get the free shipping or the 5% off so waste of money. Online there isn’t jack for ps5 games. This company has lost my business, I have I’ll use my gift card amount when I get it and not a penny more and I will no longer be return, I will also encourage anyone I speak with to not spend their hard earned money money at this company. As a business they want to play with peoples money it’s not right. If I do not receive my damn money this week I will be contacting BBB and filing a complaint. I have already got 2 other people to stop shopping with this company. Then they don’t want honor the 10% off ona new switch 2 bundle which the advertised $250 or more you save 10% so I told them I not buying I went directly to target after leaving and got the switch 2. As a company don’t treat people bad or lose their business and $$ AVOID THE COMPANY it not what it was 5+ years ago Order online nothing about the item not being available then once order said will ship when available. I canceled and got confirmation that it was canceled and would not be charged 10mins later I was charged this has made GameStop lose my business not acceptable.

Negative experience: The manager had me wait outside for a pre order, then made me feel dumb infront of customers saying I could have waited inside the whole time, I was very embarrassed and don’t plan to shop here with that rude customer service, very bad for a manager to do especially when I had asked where to wait politely.

Negative experience: Called to inquire about a product. Did not answer the first 2 phone calls. On the 3rd call, they answered and then out us on hold. After 32 minutes on hold, they hung up! Absolutely terrible service.

Fantastic experience: First time in a gamestop in 10+ years. Haven't played any game in probably 15+ years. And Rob at this spot has me considering getting back into some gaming. Helped me and my girl pick out a switch that was right for her and a game that made sense given what she was interested in experiencing. Real cool guy - legit knows his stuff and is happy to talk about it in a clear way for people who are just getting into gaming. Will be back - legit store.

Negative experience: Disappointed and Frustrated Experience at This GameStop I normally don’t leave reviews, but I felt really let down after my experience. I went to this GameStop around 11 AM specifically to try and get some Pokémon cards. An employee told me they would be restocking at 2:30 PM, so I made the effort to come back later in the day. When I returned, I was told they were already sold out — but I saw two people in the store actively opening packs and overheard them saying they had bought them earlier and just came back to open them there. It felt really unfair and disheartening. It seemed like the staff were keeping items aside for friends, family, or themselves. There were only a few people in the store, so it’s hard to believe they sold out that fast without holding some back. As a loyal customer and Pokémon fan, I left feeling extremely disappointed. It’s really upsetting to feel like regular customers don’t even have a fair chance to get what they’re looking for. I hope GameStop takes this kind of behavior seriously and ensures that products are distributed more fairly in the future.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and uncaring staff and manager. I purchased a Switch OLED during a visit. I started with a used Zelda edition, but had to exchange for a standard new one due to a defective unit. I asked for the warranty, and I was charged for it during the first transaction, but somehow lost in the exchange with me not receiving the refund. Fast forward to now, the Switch is having hardware issues. I went to my local GameStop who broke the news that the warranty was not properly added, and that Reno had to help. To make matters worse, even though the switch still has Warranty under Nintendo, they advised not to send it due to the ongoing fires in L.A, where their warranty center is. I called the manager here who, after explaining everything and asking for help, told me to kick rocks in a very rude way.

Negative experience: i very much didn’t like the customer service at this location. Sarah had attitude since the moment i stepped in the store and gave me false information. it was mainly the attitude that i absolutely did not appreciate. I, and others i know, will not be going back to that location thanks to miss Sarah ****EDIT***** i called and spoke to Sarah and was rudely hung up on and now that i’m trying to call to get the district managers name and number Sarah won’t pick up the phone. Negative experience: I can honestly say this gamestop has the worst customer service out of any of the lcoations in the reno sparks area. You will go in and whatever employees are there are too busy chatting with each other to acknowledge your existence much less actually provide assistance. Today was the second time in a month I have went in lookong for a specific game but was ignored to the point where i walked out without getting help. Don't go here. It would be easier to learn coding and make my own game then get help from this location.

Fantastic experience: I prefer stores that manage to keep employees rather then going some place and never seeing a familiar face . That said this store has some greats lady's and gents whom are great in helping to get you what you need and can even offer some opinions rather then just options as far as games or platforms for gaming are concerned. I'm not big gamer but my kids are and they haven't let me down yet

Fantastic experience: i have been a gamer my entire life, so i've been coming to gamestop for 15+ years-- sometimes gamestop isn't great, but this game stop? god tier. the NICEST sales associates i've ever met. never had a sour interaction here. the people are amazing, super chill, easy to talk to, respectful (and this is a huge plus to me as a female gamer. 90% of the time i walk into a game shop i get disrespected, but NEVER here.) this is THE best location in reno. come here and give them all your love <3

Negative experience: This store and company are the worst place to do any kind of business with. They promote the new games like crazy, get you to pre-order copies. They take your money with no problems. But when it comes to them replacing a defective disc of a game that you just bought,Nope. They say you have to buy a protection plan. But they also have a 30 day guarantee on any disc, but do not stand by it. The employees at this store just take your money,and after that they are done with you. Gamestop will never get another penny from me.

Negative experience: Was standing in line waiting for a PS5. We would have gotten one…but the manager let people who were unprepared to step out of line and then step back into line when they were ready. When you’re out of line you’re out. They punished the people who did it right.

Negative experience: This place likes to rob people. They sold me a "new" game I bought for my son's birthday. I got home called his mom and told her I bought it for him. She told me he just got it so I went to return it and was informed I could get 20 bucks for a game I just bought for $60 because they sold it to me not in a wrapper. The employee that sold it to me was there and even admitted to selling it to me with no wrapper and said it is considered used since it is open. So they basically sold me a used game for full price. Super lane.

Fantastic experience: I'm not sure what his name was, but the very tall very loud man was the nicest person to me today! I went in with a problem and a concern about a limited edition bundle, he gave me as much information about it and even put my name to the side to give me first access to it as soon as it was restocked, and that he'd let his other staff know to keep an eye on it for me. I couldn't be happier with the service I got here, the man was so nice, definitely better than other GameStop's I've been to in the Reno/Sparks area!

Positive experience: My son and I went just before closing. It seemed as though everyone had the same idea.... What I observed was the young man that was working was well informed about all questions that were asked, even had suggestions in adding to a purchase. As well as showing merchandise. Helped another customer to better understand what he was buying. Very patient.....quick, efficient James....was working ! Thank you...

Fantastic experience: This GameStop is the best in the area. Quality people are irreplaceable. A few years back when my Son was sick in the hospital, these folks helped me time and time again to get him games to play to distract from the pain. When time came I could afford a new console for him, they sold me a refurbished PS4, at a great price, and because they knew he was sick, they gave him a 2 year warranty for free. My Son used that PS4 all the way up until he passed away July 1st 2016. It was playing soothing music and things he loved all the way until the end. That same PS4 is still running today, every day, it's 90% of my entertainment. If you need anything game-wise, go see these people, they won't let you down. P.s.- they let me support their Red Dead Redemption 2 release by showing up in my Sheriff's gunslinger outfit, good times.

Positive experience: Was looking for 3 games, got 2 of them. The third one was "Call Of Duty WWII", bit I wanted the gold edition. Asked the clerk what's the difference between that and the regular edition, she answered, I asked if they sell the gold edition, she said she thinks so, never bothered to ask if I wanted it, but whatever because I wasn't going to buy it today anyway. Then she asked if I'm a member, replied that I doubt it but gave her my number and looked it up, she said no, bit never asked if I would like to join the membership program. Hopefully my next visit will be better. The reason I gave them 4 stars is because I did find 2 games I wanted, and the clerk did answer my questions.

Negative experience: The staff went above their way to assist and find a solution. Unfortunately, Game Stop does not carry any travel cases for game systems in their stores due to demand. OK I understand that, inventory space is valuable. However they dont carry many online either none for they system we were looking for. I really have been trying to stay away from Amazon and support Brick and Mortar stores, even if it needs to be shipped. Sadly, time and time again I am forced by the physical store to utilize Amazon. These stores are putting themselves out of business. So sad!

Negative experience: Nice selection, clean store, was unable to buy anything because the only cashier was busy flirting with the person at the counter instead of processing the sale. Waited for 20 minutes as the customer kept distracting her from finishing the sale. When i asked how much longer the customer stared at me as the employee just said soon. Went to bestbuy half a mile away and was able to actually buy something. Bestbuy 4/5
