Negative experience: Controller battery broke within three days and I didn’t even do anything. It’s been in the controller. I tried to play and it wasn’t turning on.

Fantastic experience: It's just SAD we don't get to keep them anymore, they are so shutting down and it sucks.... Because what about all the older gamers who love buying our games in store? We used to love this going here when game stop came out.
Negative experience: Came in Dec 26. 2pm I did find myself staring at item I wanted after I was rudely told they didn't carry said item. Ill be spending at the local video game mom and pop shops instead they come off WAY more friendly and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Tim was very helpful and knowledgable, I traded in a couple of consoles today, he was quick and efficient as well as friendly! I could tell he is just as passionate about Games as I am. After I was done he helped me Aquire the mythic Switch 2, same day! He mentioned I was lucky because his store had JUST received them! It’s people like Tim that has restored my faith in gamestop as a company. Keep it up! My trades were fair, Tim also signed me up for a Pro membership! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: They picked up the phone right away and helped us find a console we were having trouble finding. Once we got there, they helped us out and didn't pressure us into anything we didn't want. Got the pro membership simply because of how good the customer service was. 10/10 will visit again.
Positive experience: I did not think they were fair for the price they gave me for my play station 2 games . All because I didn't have an account with them they told me I would have received 27$ but instead they gave me 17$ and it would have cost 25$ for a account with them

Fantastic experience: Nicole, Heidi, and Miguel was so wonderful and outgoing when I went to their store on August 16th 2024. Nicole noticed us when we first walked in the door and she was very polite and asked me if she could help with anything. Heidi was also wonderful when she came and she helped out Nicole with assisting me with my purchase and actually help me find a better deal because she had more insight of what I was looking for and Miguel was just wonderful all the way around for just being there to support both of the ladies and doing his job thank you team GameStop in Modesto Central valley plaza on plaza parkway. You're my main store and I will always be coming back thank you.
Negative experience: Service is really bad here. Almost like im interupting them but i did buy something not like i came here to waste thier time. Next time im going straight to walmart. The guy that works there is the problem.

Negative experience: Fist GameStop I’ve ever been to that demanded aid for a game. I’m 37 and don’t look like a child nor even close. Bad judgement and poor management
Fantastic experience: Had the best GameStop experience ever. Heidi was friendly and engaging. She helped me with my shopping and offered endless options to the products I was trying to find. I ended up buying a huge collectible item and I know GameStop doesn’t have big bags to put big items in but Heidi gave me a box from the back which was above and beyond! We need people like her running the stores. Her smile and good work ethic lightened up the whole store :).
Negative experience: I poked my head in one day to make a purchase which should have been like 3 minutes max but I was waiting in line for about 8 minutes the store wasn't really busy the manager was just having a personal conversation which normally I don't mind but they never asked if I needed help when I was clearly in line it wasn't until the person whom they were speaking to realized that they were holding up the line of just me that they ended the conversation and I was hung up it's honestly frustrating that what should have been an in and out turned into nearly 10 minutes of awkwardly standing in line whilst the employee carried on a personal conversation

The guy was already closing and said he had somewhere to be. I get it's close to closing, but I've worked retail, you're not closed until it's time. Kind of lame.
Negative experience: This review is based on my pre-order of Pokémon Violet/Scarlet. The short version is that I went to pick up my game on 11/17 @ 9pm. I waited out in the cold for 30minutes before they opened and when I handed them my receipt for my paid for item I was asked if I had a ticket. I did not, so I was told I was unable to pick up my game and that I would need to return at 10am the next morning. The longer version. I haven't pre-ordered a game in years and I was hyped for Pokémon. I had made plans to meet up with a friend after pickup so we could play together. I pre-ordered my game months in advance, and neither was told about nor received a ticket. I went in a month later to pay off my remaining balance for the game, again, no ticket or mention of one. I received a phone call 11/14 as a reminder of my pre-order and that I needed to bring my receipt upon pickup on Thursday night. As mentioned above, I was unable to pick up my game and this Gamestop single handedly ruined an experience for me. Unable to play, had to cancel with my friend, and I had difficulty sleeping because of how upset I was. I went in the next morning at 10am and received a refund as I had picked the game up HOURS earlier at Target. Three people in line with me were also not informed about the ticket, and on my way out there were more people there for the same reason. The owner appeared apologetic, but also a little defensive by telling me that there were a lot of people that did receive their ticket, so it was my fault because...? It was a screw up and he needed to own it. Rant. What is this ticket system? I had bought and paid for my game, my game was THERE, but because I didn't come in earlier (not even sure when) for some magical ticket, I was denied my purchase? Why not provide a handout to those that preorder with simple instructions. Why does this message need to be conveyed in some cryptic phone call? Why not limit the amount sold for early pickup and inform new customers that the limit is reached, and they'd need to come in the next day? This could all be stated on a receipt or separate hand out. There are several simple solutions that the owner should explore, but for me, I am done. I won't ever purchase from this Gamestop or perhaps any other.

When I first signed up my email was entered wrong and was not linked up to my app. So the store couldn’t do anything had to call customer for an hour and finally decided to delete my membership at the store . Your employee” Tony B”- Amazing and patient individual went above and beyond and took the matters in his hands and helped me fix the membership situation. There is honesty a lack of customer service these days. Tony B thank you so much for going beyond and giving me a great experience. I have been there twice this week - first time wasn’t even knowledge and this time you made me a customer thanks again
