Negative experience: Kids who work there are great. Their return policies are trash and those poor kids have to deal with angry customers due to their garbage policies. I'd shop somewhere else

Negative experience: I have been grading with GameStop for the last two years. I just moved to Sioux Falls. I literally just walked inside five minutes ago as a simple questions since I know PSA grading has upped their charges and that guy who works at the front counter. It’s 330 right now on a Thursday. I asked him a simple question seeing what the total would be on five cards and he’s like I couldn’t tell you since I don’t have the cards I was like can’t you just ring in five Cards and he’s like no I can’t with an attitude and he’s like oh it’s just two dollar taxes. I was like was that so hard to say and he’s like don’t come back here but yet you guys have all my credit cards and told me good luck trying to get them because I’ll take them. You guys got cameras in your store if you guys still $10,000 worth of my cards I will be pissed. Please get a hold of me business owner.

Fantastic experience: Pretty great store last one standing in Sioux Falls now. It had the game I needed at the time I wanted it.

Ryan Bessey Posted on Google 3 months ago

Positive experience: Neutral review for a neutral reason to be there. Did not have what I wanted but they offered to buy my broken controller. I did not proceed with the sale.

Kane Tomaszewski Posted on Google 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: Everyone was so kind and patient while I was setting up my new console

Alex Posted on Google 4 months ago

Negative experience: They charged a woman 2 times the price listed on the shelf and told her it wasn't their fault and nothing can be done

Racquel DeMarteleare Posted on Google 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: I took three kids 10 and under in here the other day and had a great experience. The gentleman working at the counter was fantastic about making the kids laugh showing them a farting toy or something. He was very personable and talked to my daughter about the kpop demon hunter shirt she found to buy. We have purchased used games previously but did not find any this time. Great place!

Negative experience: Very Poor Management. Need to be shut down or people need to be responsible for their actions. Terrible don’t come to this store

Nick Smith Posted on Google 5 months ago

Negative experience: Sold a console and was quoted $115, but $60 was deducted for a controller without my approval. Support refused to fix it. Very poor management and customer service. Never going back again.

Fantastic experience: Chad made our experience AMAZING! He helped us find exactly what we needed and was extremely respectful and nice! Would definitely recommend just for being helped by Chad alone!

Lafayette Place Posted on Google 5 months ago

Positive experience: Great staff but BAD REMODEL the flooring is ugly, and hard to shop in, the white floor is contrasting to the products, so the customer CANNOT easily shop because the floor is so ugly and white concrete. The previous flooring was a weather carpet and comfortable.

Negative experience: GameStop has unfortunately become increasingly unfriendly to consumers. I recently purchased a PS5 accessory that, after opening and testing it, did not work as expected for our needs. Assuming a standard return process, I brought the item back the very next day—only to be told that GameStop does not accept returns on any opened items, even hardware accessories. To be fair, this policy is technically disclosed in small print at the bottom of the receipt. However, as someone who is not a frequent GameStop shopper, I had no reason to expect such a restrictive return policy—especially one that is far more rigid than what most major retailers follow. The result is that I was stuck with a product that didn’t meet my needs, purchased just one day earlier. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, particularly as a Pro Member. Consumers should not have to scrutinize fine print to avoid being penalized for opening and testing an item that turns out to be unsuitable. Buyers beware: if there is any chance you may need to return an item—whether it’s a gift or something you’re unsure about—think twice before purchasing from GameStop. Once opened, you are locked in. This policy feels blatantly anti-consumer and helps explain why GameStop continues to struggle as a business. For comparison, I have never encountered an issue returning opened electronics at major retailers such as Best Buy. Sadly, this experience ensures that this will be my last purchase from GameStop.

Negative experience: I went in looking for Pokemon cards. The staff were very nice. They told me I HAD to be a pro member to purchase the cards (money grab.) They told me it was to deter scalpers. I then asked why is the item with an msrp of $90 being sold for $200. They gave me a long story about how GAMESTOP buys them 3rd party??? Another money grab and excuse to over double the price. Again staff was very nice but GameStop will die in the next few years because of horrible business practices. Don’t support them if you can help it!

Negative experience: I bought a ps5 game for my son and when I got home there was no disc! I picked the game up from a shelf and when I went to purchase it she swapped it out for one that was in a drawer. I assumed I had the display one and she was giving me the one with the disk. We opened the game a few days later and noticed it was empty. I came back to the store thinking they would recognize their mistake and give me the disk for the game that they sold me but no. They also refused to refund me the money for the game. SURELY they check to see if there’s a disc before they sell it?

Anna VanBochove Posted on Google 7 months ago

Fantastic experience: They had a lot of Pokémon cards I was missing, and they were very helpful, great customer service. Would definitely come back. Only went in for penny sleeves and top loaders.

Mandi Boyer Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: This gamestop never opens on time there is someone in there but they keep raising there hand saying 1 minute not impressed do better.

David Castillo Posted on Google 9 months ago

Fantastic experience: This GameStop has pretty professional staff. Very friendly.

Christina Rimmer Posted on Google 9 months ago

Negative experience: Do not buy from game stop! They will not allow you to sell a device with out the charger or the items ir came with. But they do not give those items to there customers when they buy the items used. Pawn shops and last stop cs shop does. I had to buy a dock and the item. I might as well have bought it brand new. Its sad when a pawn shop gives you a better customer experience.

Ryan Stutson Posted on Google 10 months ago

Fantastic experience: This place is small, but packed with quality products. Nice to have a local game outlet like this. Wide variety of Playstation. Xbox, Nintendo etc. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and reasonable. Located next to Walmart and Sam's Club in an easy-to-access location.

Negative experience: Went to purchase one item and store associates forced me to provide phone number when making purchase because it would hurt his records or something to corporate. This is literally the last gamestop in town and now I know why it is.

K H Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: Demands they only buy games from customers with cases but will sell you a new game with no case, with no problem.

Michelle Preston Posted on Google 11 months ago

Negative experience: Didnt honor my warranty so sad have in the past!! New rules didn't make me aware of so sad!! I did my part!

DJ Patterson Posted on Google 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Gamestop is offering a lot now to keep up with demand. This store is always a good time and I like all the workers I've met so far. I don't want to lose the game shopping experience because of online downloads.

Negative experience: Don't come here if u want rude worker they don't care about u they just want u money and don't care anything else I been treat nice if spend big money this not fair

douglas sternhagen Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I went into store bought a vr2 online. It was on sale. It was to be delivered to my place. But after 4 days they send a email saying that my order was cancelled that warehouse was out of stock. After 5 days it’s still for sell online. I am sure this is called false advertising.

evo tofas Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Purchased a switch dock, didn’t work. Wouldn't return or exchange.

Jeremy Brady Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Only been to the store a couple of times but has been a really good experience. With the mall store closed it will be my new store.

Lindzy Lu Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Was last in line at 9:00 pm had 1 game to purchase and Devon said he could not do any more transactions. It was 9:02 and he was still helping the other customer. He was quite rude. Bad vibes don't go there.

Mycah Cummings Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: The “staff” on 9/21 told my wife she needed to sign up for the super saver shopper membership in order to buy a used Nintendo switch as they only came in “bundles”. ”staff” 1 & 2 then proceeded to laugh in her face when she asked why and they couldn’t be bothered to explain it (Probably because it’s a load of crap). Final transaction is occurring and “staff” 1 proceeds to click through all the on screen prompts without giving us a chance to read and/or agree ourselves. Overall Inept, overbearing, dirty “employees”. Thankfully we got the games and a 2nd console from the better business in town- LAST STOP CD SHOP.

Rob Barry Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great shop! Employee was very outgoing and helpful. I would recommend shopping there.

Leigh Day Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: James was incredibly helpful while I was in his store today. I look forward to more experiences shopping here

JustRealReviews Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: Driest customer service ever with a touch of misplaced arrogance. Sells games as “new” when they are already opened. Meaning he played it already, but has the audacity to look you dead in your eyes and tell you it’s brand new. No, that’s a used game you’re trying to sell for $75 GFYS!

Luis Montoya Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: I came in to buy a headset and I found some that caught my attention but they were too high and I couldn’t reach them. I asked the guy at the register if he could bring them down so I could see the description on them and he told me that I had to pay first. I felt discriminated.

Luis Castaneda Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: Small shop compared to the other two, they still have great choices for, I have seen different staff in this store, unfortunately this last visit the staff were not very helpful, I asked a question and they just came with a bland answer, really expected more from staff who work hours in a video game store, but then again they were probably new.

Jennifer Bodoh Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: If youre looking to buy a console, beware. Went in store to buy a switch. Was told by sales associate that if you buy a switch that you literally HAVE TO buy a membership to their rewards program (costs $25). I was tired and had a long day so I didn't question this, but wish I would have. After looking online I don't see anywhere where this is stated. Pretty sure I was lied to by the associate. Wish I would have walked out and bought it elsewhere. I would like to see in writing where it says that you are required to buy this and why. It doesn't include any warranty for the product being purchased so it makes no sense. Sketchy business.

Positive experience: Knowledgeable staff! Prerelease of TotK was successful

Jurassic Noodle Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Went in an hour before they closed, no other customers were around and the employee working (Jordyn) was wandering the isles. She didn't greet us once but I digress. My partner was looking for a specific game, so he went over and said "Excuse me? I was wondering if you know if you have this game in stock." Ya know, like a normal polite human being. The minute he asked she just goes "Yeah. Ok. I will just give me a moment" very aggressively and rudely when all he asked was for help with a game. Like she's supposed to do. Since it's her JOB. As a retail store you'd think they'd hire people that can BE RESPECTFUL to their customers. But I guess not. Very disappointed and totally disrespectful of her.

Patrick Olfert Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Don't order anything online ! The person in store was very friendly, I had a return because the mail version of Harry Potter took too long to come in mail and they offered poor customer service so I returned the game in Person and their in store help was fast and efficient compared to their terrible website.

Kevin Harmon Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: This company and associates are useless as cereal without milk. The customer service number will hang up on you when you have a issue with their yearly bill for useless magazines. Stay away from this place if you don't want to get scammed out of money.

Michaela Wright Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Went to the store 15 minutes after opening, and the open sign was on, but the door was locked because the employee was "gone to the restroom. Will be back as soon as possible. Thank you". Sorry, but if I can go 8 hrs without a bathroom break, your employees should be able to make it 15 minutes into their shift.

Natalie Rogers Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Came in here around 5:30pm. Just 2 guys chatting. No one said anything. No one tried to help. One walked nearby after a while probably to exercise his prejudice to see if we were stealing but didn’t offer to help. I left. Too many places to shop for this.

Martin Hood Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: The 2 people working there seemed stressed and were not helpful. The girl working was very short on her answers and quite rude to all the customers. I ended up walking out with nothing because of the lack of help.

Kevin Vogt Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: Even though stores, including Game Stop across the nation, were having an early opening for Elden Ring, Sioux Falls did not. I was given conflicting reasons why. Probably because they wanted to play it first.. thanks guys...

Nikki Porter Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: The guy working was very rude to us tonight. Went in asking if they had any copies of a new game and the guy working said they were sold out. Said they had some coming the next day and we could buy it and pick up tomorrow. My husband replied with no we will just check somewhere else. The guy snapped back at my husband that we wouldn’t and EVERYONE was sold out. Went next door to wal-mart and they had a dozen copies.

HeadyHaze Posted on Google 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: When I first came into the store initially there was nothing they could do to help me but after talking with a supervisor they were able to make things right and I will definitely continue to shop there. Can't remember the guy's name that was working there today but I appreciate you man!

Alicia Boyda Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Who doesn't love Gamestop? They know what they are talking about and are great help. The only negative i had was they had so many phone calls it did take a min to get help. But that's not their fault! I'm definitely taking my kids back there!

Casandra Doscher Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Love this place, employee that helped us today was really helpful and made it to where we saved on our purchase. Also gave me some detailed information about the pro membership that I wasn't aware of before.

Phil M Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service even tho they were closing still helped me and even changed my mind on a purchase for the better. Great employees

Renton Benson Posted on Google 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Corporate aside, this location has always treated me well. Chance is the main man of this store, and he does an amazing job. Always friendly, always willing to help, and a step above any other store.

Mark Schultz Posted on Google 5 years ago

Negative experience: Josh lied to me about setting a game aside, then sold it and replaced the reserved game with a totally different consoles version of it. Furthermore he lied about being able to buy it online for in store pickup that day. I would give 0 stars if i could

Jon Hintz Posted on Google 6 years ago

Negative experience: This review is not for the staff, there always great but Gamestop as a whole is a terrible company to both work for and to purchase from. They were selling switches on black Friday with the 1st gen version which means the batterly life was hours less. Not the employees fault they had to push these but certainly the cooperates fault for trying to sneak one past the consumer.

James Sanchez Posted on Google 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: The team is passionate about their job and made my experience memorable! Curt and crew were friendly, fun and knowledgeable! They helped me get the best deal and find exactly what I was looking for! I work in customer service and was impressed! I choose you Curt! Bad Pokemon joke!

Nuked Flounder Posted on Google 7 years ago

Positive experience: New staff, and they look like they belong at a skate park rather than working in any business. Furthermore, the staff is loathe to come out from behind the counter and offer any assistance. Too bad because I've always loved GameStop.

Cynthia Keller Posted on Google 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: Good deals on games today. 3 ps4 games for $25!! Got $26.50 back for an old game we sold back to them. Membership card is well worth the small fee to join!

Robin Wood Posted on Google 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Easy in and out parking. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter is special needs and they are very patient and kind to her.

Taylor Brobjorg Posted on Google 10 years ago

Fantastic experience: Very experienced staff with the willingness to answer any and all questions. Although sometimes seem to lack enthusiasm.. I wish they had a more broad selection of accessories for game consoles and controllers, but for a small store it's understandable... only thing that bothers me is when they consistently ask me between visits if I want to join their rewards program... other than that my overall experience here was, and is still awesome. They're the best place to go for video game questions and news. They have a variety of ways to help you pre order and manage your gaming priorities.

Mitch Bartlett Posted on Google 12 years ago

Fantastic experience: Gamestop as a company is annoying in general. This location is the exception. The employees here are great and will help you find anything. They never try to sell any add-ons, and as a person who is tired of being asked to insure my games a million times, that is a plus. They usually have anything you need in stock, which is shocking for a such a small store. It's the first place I go when I quickly want to grab a game and get home to play it quick. Now if only they could build one on the East side.
