Experiencia fantástica: Found almost everything I was looking for. I needed to replace my old N64 for my daughter and they had another one in stock and ready to go. I was missing a cord for an old Super Nintendo and of course they had had a replacement and it was brand new in the box. Anything you are looking for that they don't have in stock can be put on a wishlist so they can notify you in the event they come in. I even had them look at an old console that wasnt working properly. They were happy to try to look at it and figure it out. They couldn't fix it what was specifically wrong with mine (some hardware was missing), but they were happy to give me the information I needed to get it to someone who could. Everything I purchased is still in fantastic condition and good working order. Plus, I was able to follow up with their recommendation and get the help I needed for my broken console. I feel my experience was definitely above and beyond my expectations. Definitely worth the long drive for me.

They were both very informative & have us sites to see what direction we need to go from here to sell the game system & games. Highly recommend going to their store & checking out the setup!

Experiencia fantástica: The M&M boys (Murph and Maurice) were extremely helpful and friendly. Murph showed me how to clean a N64 cartridge and verified my newly acquired N64 actually works. Could not be more happier with them! VGR is THE place to go for your gaming needs!

Experiencia negativa: Went in to look at some SNES games. Very slim selection other than sports and what was in the case. Not usually an issue, as I know it’s all upon what inventory they receive. I asked one of the workers there a question and it felt like I was bothering him so I walked away. A little time went by and I just had one more question, asking the same guy as the other worker was busy. He looked up from his Nintendo Switch at me like I asked him to rewire the pentagon. Then he looked up what I was asking for and pointed to where it was with no help finding it. I walked out with 2 games and a lot of disappointment. Drove 50 mins from the north side to take a look at this place, as it has rave reviews, but I will not be returning.

Experiencia fantástica: Max was a great help in processing my store trade-in. We love coming in as a family to check out everything new at the store and always have great conversation. It’s nice to be around gamer family! It also seems to be getting better every time with regard to selection.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely disgusting behavior He tried to buy my Pokémon cards off marketplace, but told me I had to bring them to him in order to do the transaction and when I told him that he could meet with my husband, he got very rude and told me that my husband needed to come to him no thank you absolutely disgusting behavior and privileged. It doesn’t matter that you’re offering the price that I asked it matters that I’m not bringing my product to you because that works better for you or because you told me so that’s not how marketplace works.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are always extremely helpful and super friendly. They have a great rotating selection of video games and gaming systems. Definitely recommend checking them out if are looking to buy or sell video games, video game systems and DVDs.

Experiencia fantástica: Trade in credit is much higher than other retro game stores iv been too and the prices and much lower than almost all other retro stores iv been too, staff is always helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is great! Staff is great. Wish they had a location inside Fleming island too! But I take the drive out. And I even heard a guy from out of town Tennessee come back to the store after being away from Jax a while.

Experiencia negativa: These folks just stole money from me. They rang my items up wrong, overcharged me, and when I called them on it they informed me that they had given me store credit to compensate me. Dawg I’m not gonna spend that store credit because I’m not coming back to your store. Enjoy my five dollars. Update: they did NOT offer me store credit for my convenience or so I could avoid a drive. I said something about it before I left the store and the person who rang me up shrugged and told me they had given me credit. They gave me credit instead of a refund to spare themselves an inconvenience if anything.

I haven’t played the games in a long time (too busy with TCG ) This store is amazing, they have a massive selection of retro games and consoles. The staff was amazing, they sorted through my collection and gave me a very fair offer, an all around pleasant experience and I do plan on returning. I’ve got some store credit I need to use up, maybe I’ll pickup a gameboy color for the kiddo lol and bring him to the newly remodeled arcade!

Experiencia positiva: I mean, I love retro games, but I'm not gonna lie...for some reason I thought this place was associated with some YouTuber or social media type. No idea how I came to that conclusion. Still glad I came in. Very thematic. I've seen a lot of retro game stores go this route, and it just makes them very inviting and not so off putting. Side note I didnt get to look at everything for as long as I wanted to, still got a pretty good look at it all, but man...2 tall lanky guys walked in and one of them had a bad case of BO, and I had no choice but to flee to the opposite side of the store whenever we crossed paths. I hope they weren't friends, cause ain't no way I'd let my homie walk out the door smelling like that. But I digress. Like I said, I didn't get as long a look as I'd have liked. Realistically thlugh, there wasn't that much more to really look through for me personally. Really cool display pieces set up around the shop to tie in that nostalgia we're all desperate to snort, but once you get past it all...it's a pretty okay place. A solid variety of Nintendo, Sega, VHS, and other odds and ends to browse through. I should also mention the arcade next door. I'm pretty sure they're in bed with each other. And i'm soley basing this off the door inside that connects the two. If I had a penny for every time I ran into a retro game store with an arcade attached at the side, I'd have 2 pennies and not enough time to enjoy them. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Was very grateful they did not have to do that and took time out of their day to help me.

Experiencia fantástica: Great little shop with everything from Super Nintendo to PS5 they also have some movie, wrestling, and anime merchandise. Did a small sale of some old games and a system and they took a little to go through them and check they worked but eventually offered a fair price, a significant amount more if you take store credit.

The selection is unheard of, often finding gems and classics around every corner. Fantastic arcade with great selection of pinball and other stand up machines. I always play the sit down crazy taxi. YA YA YA YA. The prices are fair and the trade in credit seems way higher than other places. Really just an incredible place.

Experiencia fantástica: My hubby and I were having problems getting local 2 player games for the PlayStation 5 so we went in to the store and asked for advice. They suggested the Wii U so we bought the system and we are completely happy. The staff took their time to explain all the different abilities and got up hooked up with everything we needed. We are GenX so it took a lot of time to explain everything and we will continue to shop only there. Their knowledge and expertise can’t be matched by corporate type stores…

Experiencia negativa: Went in to buy an Xbox classic, they said they had been tested with a disc and all. Lies, the console was clearly tampered with in the past, leaving the old modded operating system still in which they had no idea about, but the worst part is they said I get a "warranty" which normally means money back, but even though i took it back within 24 hours these people still kept my money and only gave me store credit, which I was basically pressured into spending the same day. Never going back, glad I spent my worthless store credit

Experiencia negativa: Went in to this place to sell some items for cash. Just so everyone is aware, they are in the business to make the most off of you whilst purchasing items for dirt cheap. I can’t believe that GameStop of all places offered more for a mint condition switch lite. I even sold my gameboy color that was modded which the mod itself cost more than what they offered. It’s a shame I was in the financial bind or else I wouldn’t have sold my switch lite for $60 dollars or my modded gameboy color for $50 that we all know they will turn around and double the profit. I find it outrageous y’all sell Mario tennis on gameboy color for over $20 dollars but when I sell to you it’s only worth $4?

He was selling his own things, but still took the time to tell me how reasonable this place is. I'm glad I tried it out! I'm in my 40s collecting retro consoles for my kids and we had such a good time talking about 1st Gens. They have the most reasonable prices and are the nicest, patient, most helpful people. 100% will be back, and very soon! Update: Not a fluke. 2nd visit as great as the first!

Experiencia negativa: The workers in the shop are seemingly not trained in repairs, not able to communicate with customers, and have very little knowledge of the products they sell nor the services they provide. The associates seem lost in their own thoughts and are unable to help over 3 visits for 3 simple repair or purchase questions. I would skip this place unless you just want to play in their arcade. The arcade is dope, and the best thing about it is that not 1 employee will bother you while you play since they're so busy doomscrolling on their personal, not work-related phones. Great job!

Experiencia fantástica: We stopped by Video Game Rescue and were quickly greeted by Maurice who provided a tour and took us through their arcade. They have such a fun selection of arcade games and a unique collection of imported, retro, and current video games. What sold the store for us was definitely the customer service. Maurice and Jared were friendly and knowledgeable and instantly made us feel welcomed. We can’t wait to return with cash so we can play in the arcade!

Come in every blue moon, the store always has a great selection, I was super bummed when the 2nd location across the Buckman closed down. It was right down the street from me. My only complaint is y'all got ride of your air hockey table and now I have a jar of quarters collecting dust.

I recently called looking for a couple Pokémon games for Wii. They were happy to check and although they didn't have the games I was looking for, they offered to put me on a list to receive a text when one comes in. A++

Experiencia fantástica: I spent some serious time today in the store with Jared helping me. He was extremely informative and helped me bundle a large number of games for my collection. He even gave me a bulk discount and threw in a Mountain Dew for my time. He's a true professional when it comes to retro video games! The store itself is also great! Lots of nostalgic pieces from games (tons of them!) to movies (VHS, DVD), toys, figurines, etc. go into the back room for their insane collection of arcade/pinball cabinets! Dozens of top-notch games to choose from - bring quarters! There also seemed to be a room set up for testing or tournaments, but it wasn't operational at the time of my visit. Definitely check this place out for your videogame needs! Jared and his partner were fantastic and the collection was excellent!

Experiencia fantástica: Love this place. I hadn't gamed in years, and before I moved to Jacksonville I found my old game consoles from my childhood and started playing them again. I was happy to find this place because they sell games from all different eras and I get to relive a little bit of my childhood. The owner is a friendly guy and even has an arcade at the store.

Experiencia fantástica: Very cool place, they have a really good selection of stuff to buy and also they have a really good arcade, another thing to note is that they have a machine that lets you resurface games, I got some Wii Games resurfaced there, and they got some of them back to near perfect condition, also the people who work there are very nice, also, they replaced one of my game cases for one in better condition (game case was for the same game lol)

Also sells various little trinkets and figurines from different media. They even take requests and host events/parties. Definitely deserves your business and support. I grabbed a few ps1 and ps3 games, under eBay prices and in perfect shape! The arcade is also much larger than I thought it would be. If I had the time, I could have spent hours in this place.
