Experiencia negativa: Mike, the store manager, is extremely aggressive. and rude. My husband and brother went in to the store today, May 16th, 2026. Their sole purpose of being there was to buy Pokémon cards. My husband could not reach the ones he wanted, so my brother, who is 6'5", got them down. The manager was helping another customer at the moment, but also, he never greeted or acknowledged them when they walked into the store. The manager saw my brother get the cards down and immediately assumed he could not afford the set of cards. Not only did he assume my brother could not afford them, but because they were laughing, he assumed they were 'playing' with the cards. He came over very rudely, very nastily, and very aggressively, telling my husband and brother that "they shouldn't touch the expensive cards and that he is a grown adult that can get the cards down." My husband asked him why he was being aggressive, and he walked away. Needless to say, my husband did not buy the cards, and I'm on the phone with corporate as I write this. This was the second horrible experience that my brother has had with this man. My brother still bought something, which he shouldn't have. Very horrible experience.

Experiencia fantástica: went in for some pokemon cards and was met by Mike, the manager. very relaxed and knowledgeable guy, knows the store inside and out. the gamestops interior is really unique, given that some of the stuff is Mike’s personal belongings. it adds a nice personal touch, doesn’t make it feel as much of a soulless corporate entity like Gamestop usually is
Experiencia negativa: I came to the store to buy Dragon Quest 1+2 hd because it says you have it in stock on the website. Your employee got it out of the drawer and showed it to me. Then refused to sell it to me because they need to "make sure they can sell it to me." The employee then came back and told me it was "his," apparently set aside for the manager to purchase at his personal leisure. I've been to a gamestop before, and I know preorders aren't held that long from personal experience. Your policy online states that those are held for 48 hours before being placed on the shelf. I also know you refuse to hold products for people calling over the phone, because I have asked and been informed of that. Do employees get special treatment, then? Why is a game being set aside for an employee and put on hold 16 days after its release? Buy it or don't. It is absurd that you refused me service for this reason. I hope that manager enjoys his purchase. I suppose it makes more sense from a business perspective to refuse paying customers service so your employees can get what they want. Those employees have to keep coming back, while I on the other hand can and will take my business elsewhere. Good luck with your bankruptcy, stock collapse, and shuttering stores. This long-time customer is out.

Experiencia fantástica: Top-Tier Service and Expertise! This GameStop might be on the smaller side, but the service is absolutely phenomenal. You can tell they've stepped up their security, which just goes to show how much great stock they must have. The employees are the real highlight here. They are super duper friendly and engaging—you can talk to them for hours about anything. They're incredibly knowledgeable and will take their time to help you find the perfect game that's right for you, never making you feel rushed. They're genuinely so nice, and it makes every visit a great experience.
Experiencia fantástica: I love the Edgewood Town Centre GameStop. Of all the stores I've been to, this one is my favorite. It always looks nice, it has nice displays, and it seems very organized. I always feel well-informed when I ask questions about new products coming in and what dates they would be available. The guy I usually see there, Mike, is very kind and helpful and I always leave that store in a better mood after talking to him, even if it's just to chat about how our days are going not just regarding products. After reading some of these negative reviews, I am shocked that people have had these experiences to the point where I almost don't believe them because my experience is always so drastically different. I felt the need to share my thoughts as well. (Sidenote: I didnt think this store even did card grading.)

Experiencia negativa: These people are SHEISTY. My husband pre ordered a journey together booster box, paid for part of it up front. My husband waited months for this box, only to find out that they "didn't know what happened to it." One of the employees took his box and they did NOTHING to rectify the issue. The manager promised my husband he would try and set aside a destined rivals box...husband hasn't heart a word...what a shock.
Experiencia negativa: Update 5/2025: This place has gotten way worse. The skinny guy who works there is very off putting. High strung and doesn't know what he is talking about half the time. New guy with a beard comes off as arrogant and badgers you and upscales all the scam services as noted in my earlier review. This location is ok. The problem with it is that its a small store with very little inventory. Your most likely not gonna find a game on release day here unless you preorder. The staff is usually pretty helpful. The manager is kind of abrasive though. I do have good luck finding harder to find amiibo here though. A pro tip here or any GameStop for that matter. Do not get the extended warranty for new items. Gamestop changed the policy on the warranty last year. If you buy a new item here and it doesn't work or breaks. They will not replace it with another new item! They will replace it with a preowned one. The warranty is a scam and the last few times I have been to this location I have encountered angry customers who did not know this. You would be better off just contacting the original manufacturer since they offer a year warranty anyway. Example: You buy a new Playstation 5 and you get it home and it breaks and then you try to return it. You will not get another new ps5 as a replacement. You will get a preowned console that could have been sitting there for months. Who knows how much it was used before it was traded in as well.

Experiencia negativa: Mike, the general manager at this location, unfortunately, provided me with the incorrect controller option for an insurance exchange not once, but twice. Instead of receiving a brand new controller as per my claim, I was given a pre-owned device, which was not what I expected. I initially came into the store after my order was canceled, and without informing me, he issued another pre-owned device. This lack of transparency and attention to my needs left me feeling disappointed and undervalued as a customer. As a manager, I expected a higher level of service and a more satisfactory resolution to my issue, which ultimately resulted in a rather unsatisfying experience.
Experiencia negativa: My wife went in today to get an umbreon card promo and the employees were very rude. There were too concerned with playing thier Nintendo switch and acted inconvenienced that they actually had to wait on a customer that asked questions about inventory and prices on things, even going as far as purposefully telling her the wrong prices of items, such as a glaceon plush, they said was $45 when it's a 3 pack that includes it, that sells for $45. My wife said they were snappy and acted irritated over every question.

Experiencia fantástica: Went into this store today... haven't been to a Gamestop in months and just moved to Swissvale recently. My 7 year old son, who has high functioning autism, was looking for eeveelution plushies. Unfortunately they didnt have any so he was walking around aimlessly looking for anything so as not to go home empty handed (the joys of parenting). The store manager and associate were so kind and nice to him, offering to answer all his questions and talking to him about old video games. I usually buy my games as downloads from the Playstation store but I had such a pleasant experience here with my son it has made me consider coming here for those titles I want hard copies of in the future. My son is why and misses a lot of social cues so it was really nice to go somewhere he could interact about a topic he likes and not feel weird about it.

The only reason I stopped in was because they were the only store in Pittsburgh that had NieR Replicant for PS4 in stock. Hate to leave bad reviews but I’ll probably stick to The Exchange for games.

She called a manager, who said do whatever you feel comfortable with? What does that mean? Don’t give me my money apparently. Told me to come back between 10am and 3pm on a weekday. Very practical. Experiencia negativa: Unprofessional staff. Called in to ask about trading in a system and it took 15 minutes of being on hold before I was helped. Then I drove to the store only to be informed that I would need a controller with the system to trade it in, something he should have mentioned on the phone, and then implied that I’m stupid just for not knowing to bring in a controller. This was the first time I ever visited this location and it will be the last. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
