Experiencia negativa: On May 7th, I entered the store to purchase my daughter some products she wanted for her birthday this weekend. I looked around and asked a store employee, with a beanie on his head and facial hair, the price of a pack of cards. He appeared to be disgruntled only saying its around $5 dollars, as I looked at the pack he told me that they were not cards, in which I already knew but since there was no prices on them I wanted to know. His attitude was he didn't want to be there. After picking out some items I stood at the counter ready to pay. One employee was tending another customer with a trade in Nintendo Switch. The beanie wearing employee saw me at the counter waiting and he went to put up items from the counter to throughout the store, nearly running into me. After close to approximately 10 min, maybe a little less he walks to the counter then turns around to ask if I was ready to pay. I told him yes, then I said, "You know what, I don't need your service since I have been standing here for a long while." I exited the store and he stated, "Have a nice day." I am disappointed in Gamestop in hiring employees without respect to their customers and losing another long time customer. I will no longer do any business with Gamestop and recommend everyone to do the same. They have rude customers (and not the first time I had to deal with this type of rude store employees). Gamestop owners I know you are reading this and I hope you read every review posted at every store. High prices, lack of professional employees, and poor customer service is gonna cause your at one time great business to collapse. You know how to contact me and if you do, I hope you are open minded to all of us that have to deal with this trashy Gamestop experience. Clean up your stores please!
Experiencia negativa: Go in to make a trade in a full hour before closing as soon as I walk in they say they won’t be able to do it. They start the trade in anyways then tell me they can’t do it because I don’t have an original HDMI for the PS5. Horrible and some of the most lazy workers I have ever seen.

Experiencia negativa: Male long haired staff member is six a rude condescending person. Three different people I know personally, and I, have had this grey cloud of a person give attitude and be rude off the jump. GameStop do something about him. Reading reviews I know it’s a regular occurrence for him to act like this. I will go back, and I will get his name. I will update this when I do.

Experiencia negativa: Two dudes there who were rude for no reason and condescending. Not helpful, nor cared to explain properly about how their returns and exchanges work. They also complained out loud as to why it was busy on a Saturday when they just opened.

Experiencia negativa: Based on their "expert opinion" I purchased and HDMI to RCA output converter. I got it home and it did not work at all. I tried to go back for a refund but was informed that electronics were exempted from returns. They would exchange for the same item but there's no point. Further research indicates that the one sold to me will not perform the desired task.

Do not go to any other game stop but this one,it is the best service ive ever had,these guys know their games and if they dont they will help by helping you look it up,besides that they love what they do RUTH AND MASON ARE THE BEST GAMESTOP EXPERTS ive dealt with. Love how helpful they were ,my wife came last week and said the same thing !!!!! Will always drive the extra 30 min just to get helped by these two people!!!!!
Experiencia negativa: Avoid this place, especially if you’re looking for customer service. Very weird vibe at this store. Employees working literally tried to talk a guy out of buying an Xbox, the customer was obviously not wanting their “expert opinion”, and was just buying something cheap until he could upgrade. Employees did not get the hint, and basically said he was downgrading and was “throwing his money away” if he didn’t buy the protection plan because it was definitely going to break on him. Even after the customer bought it and left, they couldn’t stop talking about what a bad purchase it was.
Experiencia negativa: Thought these guys were supposed to be experts? Hyped up a game with a bunch of false information, then doubled down on it when I asked follow-up questions, knowing it was false as it was a game I had already followed closely in development for a long time. When I pulled up the information and showed him where he was so confidently false, he simply shrugged, said "We don't keep up with that information" (the information he had previously been repeating and hyping on, expanding on each incorrect sentence himself, but didn't keep up with it?), turned completely away from me, and ignored me the rest of the time I was in the store. These guys are supposed to be subject matter experts but apparently will shell out fake info to hype up a game. Disgraceful. I'd love to go back just to get his name but this is the first time in my life I've ever NOT wanted to go back into a Gamestop.

Experiencia negativa: I just recently purchased a new PlayStation controller, took a bit to get the employee’s attention to retrieve the controller from the back. All goes well, when finishing the transaction I deny the warranty for the controller. Only because I don’t think I will need it and I don’t know if there will be a GameStop in the new location I’m moving too. The cashier then made a sarcastic remarks about there being game-stops all over and saying that I should be ready to budget another amount of money for a new controller when this one breaks. I was very respectful to both GameStop workers and didn’t not deserve to be treated that way. the workers name was tanner, or that’s what was on the receipt, and he had long scroungey black hair and beard.
Experiencia negativa: Went in today to try to purchase a ps5 with a friend, When she asked about purchasing one the guy at the register didnt ask which type she wanted, he just listed off reasons why the disk version was better and went and grabbed the disk one from the back, Once she realized he didnt have the digital (also trying to save $50 here), He said he only had the digital pros in stock, A whole $100+ more than even the disk PS5, On the website it had 4 regular digital PS5's in stock, he claims the website is wrong. Not to mention the attitude he had the whole time, Sorry we pulled you from your dinner. I usually love this store, Only store that gives the gaming environment feel but his attitude was uncalled for and he should've asked about her preferences not just gone with what he wanted her to buy.

Experiencia negativa: Dont know his name, but the guy with the scraggly black beard is just really rude. He treats people like he doesn't care about them at all and barely takes an opportunity to stop doing what he is doing to greet or help customers. Everyone seems to be an annoyance to him.

When he got done with with everything he was doing for the return he asks "if I wanted another controller" and i said no thank u ...... soooo he gives off this chuckle/laugh and rolled his eyes ..... idk what kind of customer service yall teach here but I won't be returning to GameStop nor purchasing in the foreseen furture
Experiencia negativa: Won’t answer phone called 5 times with no answer. also when I’m a customer inside while they aren’t attending to customers still won’t pick up the phone ! #2 change of controller insurance replacement policy instead of getting a new controller like I usually do I have to get a refurbished one instead on not even 3 days later I’m going to have to go back spend another $14+ For something that won’t last me a week

It’s been three years and they still never have inventory unless you want the $80 more expensive bundle with terrible games included. Thanks for the generous $150 store credit on a $300 Series S console too wow I mean that took my breath away. Your name is GameStop but never have any consoles for you know…games. It’s like going to a pizza parlor and asking for pepperoni for three years and them never having any in-stock. Like what? That’s literally all you do who is in charge of the inventory at this location they are absolutely terrible at their jobs.

Experiencia negativa: I visited GameStop to pick up a new video game, and while the store itself was well-stocked and organized, my interaction with the cashier left a lot to be desired. The cashier was friendly at first, asking me about my purchase and making small talk, but things took a turn for the worse when I declined a power up membership. The cashier's attitude changed immediately and they became quite rude and pushy, trying to convince me to sign up for the membership multiple times. It was clear that the cashier was only interested in making a sale, not in providing good customer service. Overall, I was disappointed with the cashier's behavior and it left me with a bad impression. While the store may have a good selection of games, I would recommend this location with caution and be prepared for pushy sales tactics.

My boyfriend got 5 games from here (none worked) we bring them back and they tell us that they will give us .75 cents for a game we paid 20.00$ for… ridiculous!!! Be careful at this store they will scam you!!!!

Experiencia positiva: Seems like every time I go there to ask questions and buy product, I'm there at the wrong time. Either I get the guy that doesn't know anything and blank stares you, the other guy that doesn't seem to know anything, or the guy that talks too much to the point where you just only asked for a simple yes or no to your question. I'm glad that the last person has an extensive knowledge of the store and the video game world though. All three of them bring an awkward and unwelcoming aura and love to talk within themselves in front of us when we're asking for help. Like I understand that retail can be stressful, and socializing can help pass the time. However, I would like to get through making a purchase with the clerk without him talking to his peers about unrelated matters, or their peers talk to them and start a conversation while my order is still being processed. If the conversation is work related, sure, 100% understandable. You got to communicate when you can. The conversations there, when I visit, are definitely not that though. It's just completely rude, and your discussions can always happen after I paid for my purchases. I'm just asking for 5 mins of your time so I can pay for what I came for. I just moved to Abilene a few months ago, and this location is the closest thing to me. I've had so many better experiences with the San Antonio locations then this one here. :( Hoping things get better soon. Thank you.

Experiencia negativa: Employees are great but i bought a used ps4 controller and had to return it due to stick drift..the one i got it replaced with had the same issue and after taking that one back I received another defective controller...dont know who does the testing on them but they should be replaced with somone who knows what theyre doing. Games always overpriced and is better to just buy the game you want online for better deals.

Experiencia fantástica: Talisha has got to be the coolest GameStop manager I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. When she worked at the north side store, she picked up the slack for others, until she made manager herself. From then on, the store got cleaner, more organized, and better looking, because she was almost always there. Now, the Southwest Drive location has her there, and has for a while, and she makes it engaging to shop, even despite the pandemic. She gets to know customers, and is wonderful at recommending good games based on interests that the person has spoken about before, without them always having to tell her. She alone is probably my biggest reason for still shopping at GameStop. If she ever left, I probably wouldn't keep shopping there unless there were a major deal. I've honestly never met a manager that is as engaging and as good at her job as she is. GameStop corporate, if you're reading this, give that woman a raise! She deserves it for how much she makes it enjoyable to shop here for both myself and my kids, who love her and are always excited to see her again when we go shopping here.
