Experiencia positiva: The times I've gone here, I've had good customer service and help. Last time was when I had an unopened PS4 game that I wanted to get a refund/credit for, and apply to the same title that was a PS5 version. I had receipt but it was past 90 days, but the young man working still helped and I just paid the price difference of 20-something dollars. Only issue is thieves keep driving cars into the building to steal stuff, but that's not Gamestop's fault.
Experiencia negativa: Customer service skills are LACKING! I worked in the customer service industry and it’s not hard to be friendly and helpful. Won’t go again, there are better locations with better customer service. Felt the judgement as soon as we entered the shop.

Experiencia positiva: Don't buy any Technology except Game Consoles and Video Games from Gamestop in General. If you buy any other type of Technology such as headsets and computer mouse's and you don't want it because it didn't work well for you and you return it just as you bought it don't expect Good Business Ethics. If the box is opened they couldn't care less. So unless you want your money stolen I suggest you shop elsewhere.

I started explain what I was told about my warranty for a product I bought at this location under warranty, before I could even finish she immediately cuts me off tells me that she doesn’t have an used products for the item and that I can turn it in. So I call the other GameStop by target who tells me that those don’t get turned in as used often so they have to give me a new usually. Which is fine either way but off rip. Ole girl didn’t need to have an attitude and could have let me finish explaining also clearly there’s other protocols if not how can I exchange in for my warranty item… Lastly DONT BUY GameStop WARRANTY’s- what they don’t tell you is that the items you exchange in for your warranty will only be replayed by USED ITESM not new! And don’t speak to his because she’ll get you no where.
Experiencia negativa: On March 31st, 2024. I visted the store to pickup a new Dualsense controller, replacing a friends controller that had just broke. The lady put me on the spot for the physical damage coverage Gamestop offered for controllers when I said I wasn't interested. It would've been alright, if she hadn't made a frowned face at me in silence as I turned to walk out of the store.

Experiencia negativa: Staff is weird and rude. Before I was even done deciding if I wanted to buy my items after I was told the promo I was trying to use suddenly couldn’t be used they put all my items back and then answered the phone and took a call as if I wasn’t there.

Told me I was impatient, and told me my word use was “not a good word” as if im not in public talking to my boyfriend. Let me shop and buy what I need to and leave. Repeatedly called me impatient because HIS machine wasn’t processing my card (which would then go through). I hope to see disciplinary actions with this employee. Terrible customer service, too personal and rude. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Disc probably wont even work

Experiencia positiva: Don't be fooled by the blacked out outside windows (I thought they were shut down the first 3 months I lived nearby, someone hire someone to do some art on those windows guys!) they're in fact open and have a lot of fun deals. I have their subscription, so I get my $5 coupon every month, I make sure to use it on something cause there's always something there that I like or would make a good gift.

Experiencia positiva: Normally a good store, but my last visit didn't go so well as my trade-in was denied due to expired license and the staff wouldn't take my government validation that it was renewed and on its way, which is a stand that is recognized by the government. I went to another GameStop 2 days later with new ID and the value of my trade-in went down. This other GameStop said they should have taken the temporary ID validation and contacted the District Manager and got me extra credit when I didn't even ask him to. I went ahead and bought a power up membership and items In the store when I didn't intend to make a single purchase. Sadly this 72nd street store has lost my business, there are better stores with better customer service in these COVID times.

I visited the store to trade in a phone my brother had cracked and no longer wanted, a one plus 7. At a previous store I traded in a Galaxy s9 in comparable condition, so I thought surely this store would accept a one plus 7. I went in waited as woman at the counter put in my phone details into her system, for over 10 minutes I stood there in silence as she didn't try and talk and communicate, just had her back to me stooped over the computer and phone checking things. As she comes back to the register, she types in for a couple more minutes on the computer, looks at me with a dead gaze and tells me that they only accept one plus 3s sorry, and hands me my phone back. There was no sincerity in her tone. I asked quizzically, "One plus 3?" She simply nodded, had no interest in talking anymore and looked at the lady behind me and asked what she wanted. I admit, she was the only employee in store. Her life is miserable, but this is the exact reason this company is so awful. No transparency with customers and the employees hate their lives. I hope the chinese enjoy the phones your company is sending them so they can dismantle, reconfigure into new things and then send back to us. Never visit this store or any other GameStop for that matter. They're a waste of your time and money. Edit: I just remembered these stores will also accept stolen goods because they claim they can't prove you stole it. Completley immoral company. Stay away.

You were looking at lanyards on the rack. Drop what your doing and go check to see if you have the video game. No wonder she worked at Gamestop, employer's probably noticed her horrible service from the interview

Been there once or twice since. As a life gamer I don't expect them to keep up but wow... bandwagons and IGN reviews. EA would be proud.
Experiencia positiva: Idk what GameStop you guys are talking about but the experiences I had for this location wasn’t the best game stop I been to, the lady with glasses always comes off very snooty towards my fiancé and I . We literally buy everything in that store, it’s really weird how she insists she know what she’s talking about when it’s barely the case when I’ve shown her facts. The store is clean and some of the employees are cool but at night you get a whole different vibe and it’s messed up . Keep it consistent and realize nobody of color is always going to give you a hard time.. we are cool customers we just want the same respect you give others.

Experiencia fantástica: Went there for a game it turned out they didn't have, and the guy running the store was super helpful, when he realized I wanted to find it that day, not wait online, told me 3 other places within 15 minutes that were good bets to have it available TODAY for me to pick up, and one of them did have it and I later got it. Was just such a helpful customer service experience at this particular GameStop. I should have noted the guy's name at the time. Helpful, friendly mid-20ish black man with glasses, and IIRC cornrows. Super helpful and professional. Next time I stop there I'll try to credit him by name.
