Experiencia negativa: DO NOT BUY OR PRE-ORDER POKÉMON CARDS FROM THIS STORE!!!! I pre-ordered 2 prismatic ETB's from this store and went to pick them up yesterday, all excited to finally get them. Got them home and decided to rip one and save the other. Both sealed and looked completely fine. Open it up and start ripping packs. Get to 4th one and its completely open all along the top. Since it's gamestop, a reputable company, I assume it's got to be a fluke. Keep going and when I get to 8th pack, is also open. Somethings now wrong and I pulled nothing more than a $2 card. Somewhere along the way, someone is tampering with their boxes. Called to let them know and their manager, Brian, didn't care and refused to do anything at all. Now i have a second box I paid alot for, I don't even know what to do with. $280 down the drain cause I trusted this company. BUY YOUR PACKS AND BOXES ELSEWHERE. OVERPRICED AND NOW HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING TAMPERED WITH!! Will never buy from them again after paying for their membership for the past 10 years!
Experiencia fantástica: Best customer service from Store manager Brian and Abraham ( who I think is Assistant Manager or Full time key holder) they will do right by you every time , are super friendly and share your enthusiasm for the games , a very fun atmosphere and are extremely knowledgeable, as a former game stop employee I know they are doing the company proud.

Experiencia negativa: I called ahead to the Mission Valley GameStop to ask if I could purchase Pokémon Legends: Z-A without a preorder. I was told over the phone that it wouldn’t be an issue. I’m in San Diego for work and made a special trip to the store — I’m also disabled, so these trips are not easy for me. When I arrived, I was told I couldn’t buy the game without a preorder and was asked to come back the next day. I explained my situation, but the staff was dismissive and just kept repeating the same line with no effort to help or find a solution. It was frustrating, disappointing, and honestly felt like they didn’t care at all about the inconvenience they caused.

Experiencia positiva: If you’re here for retro games complete in box, go somewhere else. 8/10 games that they have are in GameStop generic cases and missing the box art. For the few games that do have art, half of them are thrown in GameStop cases, and missing manuals. They did have quite a large selection of games though. When checking out, you will not be prioritized over people selling trading cards. Had to wait for 3 minutes while one employee was evaluating cards, and the other two employees behind the counter were staring at a computer screen. Quite disappointed for a retro store.

I went to the sports Sereyna store today and the guy wouldn’t answer the phone so I drove there when I arrived. He was just on his phone and I called while I was in the store and he never answered the phone. He had it on silent. This is why this is such a great store
Experiencia negativa: Came here to buy a switch 2, one of the cashiers was extremely rude and clearly had an attitude for no reason, she was very annoyed at every little thing she was doing and made it seem like it was my fault. Their systems went down after I purchased my item and I asked for a bag because I was not give one, then was told “I can’t sell you a bag our systems are down”…so why didn’t you ask me before hand if I wanted a bag? Then I was met with a disgusting tone when I told her I didn’t know I had to buy one? And if I’m buying a systems that’s almost 600 dollars the least I could get is a bag, especially for the time I waited while you sat around with an attitude.

Want to trade something in? Great -- just be ready to unpack your entire inventory in 0.00002 seconds or less or risk being scolded like a misbehaving toddler in front of a line full of strangers. God forbid you take a breath while handing them the games they'll turn around and sell for 500% markup. But don't worry -- they'll make up for that awkward interaction by wasting your time aggressively pushing pre-orders for games you didn't even know existed. Spoiler: they won't actually notify you when it arrives. They say they'll call. They won't. It's like making a reservation at a ghost restaurant. And the upselling? Relentless. Want to buy a $10 used game? Prepare for the full GameStop gauntlet: preorder pitch, loyalty card, "pro" membership, strategy guide, extended warranty -- all while you're just trying to leave with a little slice of nostalgia and your dignity intact. Somehow, they make money off trade-ins while treating the people who bring them inventory like a burden. It's a weird flex from a company that's one Fortnite skin away from total irrelevance. It's wild how they'll waste five minutes trying to push a pre-order you clearly don't want, but treat your trade-in like a personal inconvenience. For a company that makes a living off used games and loyalty, they show very little of either.

Experiencia negativa: I frequently shop at this location and always go for the retro stuff. I went in today and I am beyond appalled as to how I was treated by Alwin. I called in about a system and I was told that it was available I called 2 hours prior. I tried to return an online order and the GameStop policy allows for 30 day window for a defective item. Alwin told me he can’t do that and it would be like “ giving free money away” for me wanting to return a well defected product I received. I called 3 other gamestops and confirmed that I would be able to get a refund on a card. Alwin did not want to do his job and he wanted to be petty and not sell me the system. After I got my refund from driving to another location , I went in 10 mins before closing and there were still people shopping around, I waited my turn and when 7 PM approached another person came in and they said I would be the last customer. After the cashier acknowledged me I asked for the product I liked, then Alwin decided to intervene and tell me the store is closed, I was not told that I wouldn’t be able to be get the product, I wasn’t told this before I waited 5 minutes in line for my turn. The way this GameStop is run is very unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: I went in here just to buy a $1.07 gamestop tote bag and literally took 10 minutes trying to buy it due to their dirty nasty unreadable card machine they have that couldnt read my debit card. Then one of their employees grabbed my debit card and started "cleaning" my card's chip with a pencil eraser then he added some liquid like really hard which then damaged my card later. They need to replace their pay system machines asap

Experiencia negativa: I couldn't really explore the store it is so small and narrow filled with boxes & merchsndise display so much I couldn't get passed the entrance door. This is not customer friendly at all. There wasn't a crazy amount of people in there but duento the lack of space it was packed that in the front door people didn't know what to do with themselves. Clusterphobic!

Experiencia negativa: I hardly go to Mission Valley because I usually shop at Plaza Bonita, and now I have further reasons to not bother with this area. I prefer a GameStop store that doesn't: 1) Make unnecessary scenes or attempt to make a scene out of me and my loved one. 2) Have Full DISPLAYs but LIMITED Products to purchase. 3) Have Sales Reps that scream and lie to their customers. 4) Have Sales Reps that imply speculations rather than proof and ridicule over quality customer service. Let me explain: This Mission Valley GameStop has the weirdest reps I hve ever encountered, she was using a very loud voice which was so unnecessary for such a mini-sized store. My husband and I asked to purchase the Chrome Black wireless Xbox controller on the wall but it wasn't in stock. My very polite husband (he's the type that's so polite he says sorry for being polite!) asked if GameStop was still running a promotion for Xbox Controllers that Plaza Bonita had during his last controller purchase a few months ago. She continued to speak at the highest volume she can muster just to say she had never heard of such a promotion (her coworker even agreed with her without any research) and then she stated that promotion was something illegal! It sounded very much like she was saying: "You-people-are-running-a-scam-at-one-GameStop-and-it's-not-happening-here"-type-vibe and she was saying that the Plaza Bonita GameStop was running a scam too! The Vendatta! We clarified that the discount was on GameStop printed cards that were slid into the XBOX controller boxes AFTER purchase to give the buyer a discount on XBOX online store with a code that could be entered into XBOX to get discounts on game purchases and add-ons. She again replied in the negative, making faces and talking very loudly. My husband still calm and friendly says to her, "maybe Plaza Bonita just sells more than this stor-" before my husband could even finish this karen was like: "WE SELL THE MOST IN SAN DIEGO!!" another customer looked at her like she was crazy. It was like her goal was to make us uncomfortable and a negative center of attention. She failed. I was positive that she was not the store manager, I proceeded to cut the conversation short by asking her: "Since the highest selling store in San Diego doesn't have what is on the shelf in stock, can you tell me which store does?" Pause. Silence. PLAZA BONITA had 5. We left immediately, and at the Plaza Bonita GameStop, the two men behind the counter CONFIRMED the promo had ended about 30 or so days after my husband first received it, because it was that same rep that had been there before and remembered how excited my husband had been about it. Furthermore the promo was at limited locations and Mission Valley was one of those locations that DID NOT give this promo to their customers!! He found all of this on the same system the women in mission valley had to use. The In-Store Intranet basically. So instead of refuting us, all she had to do was a GameStop POS Goggle like search rather than all those theatrics. For Shame. Like Who Raised Her. Plaza Bonita knew exactly how many CHROME BLACK controllers in stock they had AND if it is NOT IN STOCK they TAKE THE BOX OFF THE SHELF!! NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE TOP-SELLING STORE's behavior to me! PLAZA BONITA OVER Mission (Karen) Valley for me and my super polite lovable husband. BTW she has dark hair, stands about 5'5, slender and has a very wide smile and very wide bluish green eyes I believe, watch out for her. OR JUST GO TO PLAZA BONITA!

Experiencia negativa: I don't typically shop at this type of store and I came to get a holiday gift for someone. The cashier was absolutely rude and short with me when I was paying. I'm not sure what his problem was but he has medium hair length and blonde highlights. Being a first time customer, I will never come back. That crew member needs to be fired or coached.

Instead of just saying we don’t have it in stock he did some digging and found a digital version that I was able to purchase. Then he helped me with some warranty issues I had been having for a while. He was super helpful, super polite and even called me because I forgot something in the store. This is the definition Exceptional service. This will be my GameStop In Westfield mission valley from now on! I suggest you come see Shaun and make it your Gaming home! Thank you Shaun!!!
