Positive experience: I have to say I’m really disappointed with my last visit to Games Galore. I stopped by to pickup a Wii mote, and game cube controller. While both worked the condition of the Wii mote was disgusting and battery corrosion on the battery terminals for $24.99 I wasn’t expecting new but how could you sell something in that shape is wild to me, The game cube controller was, what I would call ok condition I haven’t opened it up yet to give it a good clean but buttons felt fine, and a lot of paint wear and that was price at $39.99. To the defense of the employee who took care of me he did ask if I wanted to inspect the controller but I was in a rush I’ll be accountable for that. Do better guys I have the ability and the knowledge to clean and repair these type of things but not everyone can.

Fantastic experience: Nice place! I am from outta town and stopped by because I love supporting small/local game stores. It was genuinely such a good vibe. I was trying to find this one ps1 game “Monster Bass” They searched everywhere for me! It was a really old trade it. I could tell but they still took their time and researched everywhere they had already. I may have not be able to leave with Monster Bass but I left knowing they do deeply care for their customers there!

Fantastic experience: I got a NES from the place I highly recommend this place it has everything you need Nintendo to PlayStation

Fantastic experience: Justin does great work. Fixed up both my old Gameboy games, saves work perfect. Even repaired my emeralds clock based events without needing to reset. I genuinely love this place, amazing selection and the staff are amazing. I just wish they would give a bit more for trades. That’s my sole complaint. Other than that, this is a hidden gem.

Fantastic experience: Great service at Games Galore, bought a Nintendo Switch and a few other accessories for the Switch for an amazing price and it works perfectly. It was a little bit busy and they handled each customer with care. Glad I found this hidden gem of a store.

Negative experience: I asked profusely if the used PS3 game was tested and work in my console. Of course they yessed me to death. Get home game doesn’t load on my PS3. Sweet and then they won’t refund you…… despite selling you an inoperable game.

Fantastic experience: This place is great! I bought a Sega Genesis 2 for a great price. They were willing to test it and answered all my potentially annoying questions with patience. They have a great selection of all vintage games and every employee was so friendly. Coming from New York was definitely worth the visit.

Fantastic experience: You typically got 3 types of retro game stores: 1. Colorful and cool 2. Bright and white 3. Dank and dingy I looked at the reviews and some pictures and already in my mind, I came to the bright and white conclusion of probably not worth my time. Probably stocked with a whole bunch filler, and won't be around for much longer as places fitting this criteria usually do. At least from my experience. I was wrong. Under that boring white paint there were rows and walls filled with games worthy of my, or anyone's, attention. Games I've rarely seen in a majority of the retro game stores I've visited over the years. I'm talking glass display counters dedicated to NES, SNES, Game Boy, GBA. Racks of non-filler Xbox and PlayStation games. Wall shelves overflowing with OEM and aftermarket controllers...Let me tone it down before it gets X rated. I'm glad I stopped by. If I'm ever in Jacksonville, Florida again, I'll make sure to allocate more time. Unfti went in an hour or so before closing time so didn't get much time to comb through it all. Also special shout out to the short guy with 3 strands of slicked back hair trying to rizz up that female customer who's kid or something only liked chicken tenders. She was not feeling you little bro. Made it super obvious he did not want to acknowledge or look at me for some reason, lol. But that's alright cause I don't know if he actually works there, or just has a permanent stool to sit at by the SNES/NES games. The main guy ringing people up, however, customer service champ--even with all the people that showed up 45 minutes before closing--Had everyone in and out in pleasant tone, making sure you knew you had 30 days for a return if there were any problems with your purchase. I can respect it.

I came into the games galore on Beach and Hodges. I came into the games galore. And I was helped by Gabriel and James. They gave me a great fair trading value. You know that feeling when you leave the store that something with the right and they got over on you that’s not a feeling I feel I’m very rejoiced. I’m very happy with the extra excellent customer service that is here at the store I would recommend a store to anyone looking for any type of game systems or anything be blessed thank y’all.

Negative experience: A lot of good retro consoles and unique builds, way overpriced. Should avoid paying to not contribute to an aggressive market.

Fantastic experience: This is my go-to spot for used games and gaming equipment. The owner is friendly and I really like that he's only willing to accept and sell stuff that's actually in good condition and works. The two guys who work for him are a little much, so I try to only go when the owner is there.

Negative experience: They try to sell fake games as real one, they scammed me on shopify, be warned they have 0 customer service and they are just plain scamming people. Never again with shady business like that. Dont be fooled like me, stay far from them

Fantastic experience: Great game store with a good selection of newer and retro games. One area they have an excellent selection of it's controllers. GG had first party and third party controllers for most systems. They carry Japanese region games, as well as many retro systems.

Fantastic experience: Games Galore is an exceptional used game store that is close by to the beaches. I have never had a bad experience and every staff member knows their games, pricing, and overall achieve in creating a comfortable environment. Every single time I go here I end up with a bag of new games, they just have so many unbelievable deals. There is not any other used game stores as close to Jax Beach, most are in orange park, or only open on the weekends at the flea market. I also want to add that their items last, I purchased a used PS4 there over five years ago and it has never carried any issues, even the original controllers still work. I've purchased a Wii U there and it took me weeks of hunting but eventually they had one of these nostalgic consoles within their stock. Honestly, I've been to many used game stores, but if you want variety and low prices I suggest taking a look at this gem.

Negative experience: Bought 8 games from this store last week spending over 50$ and every single game did not work. Thanks to their "no refund" policy I am now stuck with games that don't work and I feel so cheated. Please do research when shopping

Positive experience: Great place to get old school games and consoles. My advice when buying, make sure BEFORE purchasing, you have them test the game and/or console. My experience was a little rushed and then the tech had to actually do his job, my bad. Regardless, i made the tech do a thorough testing on all my games and the console plus the controllers. Also make sure you do a bargain of some sort. Dont just buy it. Negotiations are a thing. Walked away content and satisfied nevertheless.

Fantastic experience: Games Galore is awesome! If you're looking for harder to find games, or want to find games in good condition, this is the place to go! They often have multiple copies of retro games to choose from, and they've got a few rare gems and limited editions! The workers were also really nice. Looking forward to my next trip!

Fantastic experience: I just went in today and last week and the week before that. Why? Because I was able to buy retro games at 1.99 and 2.99. I got a couple for 7.99 and one for $45 that was totally worth it! I remember it was a game I only rented at blockbuster for one weekend and I never played it again… until now! It’s finally mine!! You can even buy Nintendo switch games here cheaper than the other stores. Every time I come in the employees treat me respectfully, they are polite and knowledgeable. They’re super nerds themselves lol. They treat every customer like they’re worth a million bucks. I’ve seen them show empathy and compassion towards people of all backgrounds. I hope everyone finds out how great this store is, especially families with children or adult gamers. There is something here for everybody. If we don’t support stores like this they will all be gone and the retro games will become even more rare. Thank you Games Galore for fulfilling a need for old school video games!

Negative experience: If you are trading DO NOT COME HERE. I tried to trade in 9 PS4 and PS5 games that I don't really play anymore. Including some games that are still in stores for 30-40 a piece. This dude gonna look at me and say 40 for all of them... I just picked them up and walked out. This place is a ripoff

Negative experience: Sold me a black label case with a greatest hits game. Employees at a game store should have enough basic knowledge to know the difference and know black labels are more expensive and sought after. Checked when I got in the car trying to return and the door was locked. Please don't spend any money here. Most their games are overpriced and behind the counter where you have to zoom on your phone to see them. Customer service is just as bad. Rude and short replies from an employee that was annoyed and would rather be somewhere else. Told myself last time I wouldn't be back but this is what I get for not listening I suppose.

Negative experience: Had gone in this past Friday and purchased a Dreamcast and the game Sonic Shuffle. They gave me a broken controller with corroding contact points, the game had a large scratch on the disc, and the Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast does not read any games whatsoever.

Fantastic experience: I've been a customer for about a decade (perhaps longer). They always have great and unique games in stock for older consoles. Their staff is also quite knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Wanted to sell games and systems for cash, but only offered store credit.

Positive experience: They are great, besides 1 gripe, the wii u games never work.

Negative experience: I’d love to spend money in here but 75% of stuff on the shelves and behind the counter is sun bleached. Put up some window shades and rearrange the store!

Positive experience: This place has a High rating because of the game collection. Ps1,2,3,4 and the same with Xbox games. Even Nintendo consoles and games. And quite a lot of limited edition consoles and collectors edition boxes. If a game doesn't work they are pretty generous with trades however some games are out dated price wise. Some games that are litteraly free are over $20 and you have games like poker costing more than award winning new games.

Positive experience: The selection is good and the staff are helpful. The front windows let in a LOT of light that fades out the packages and labeling of the products, which is kind of a drag for a place that sells retro merch. Prices can be hard to find on the carts in the cases. Again, good people just a bit of a letdown on the facility.

Fantastic experience: A great place trade and buy games at. They are very professional there.

Negative experience: I love checking out retro game stores instead of using eBay because I enjoy supporting small businesses. This is not one I recommend, most items are Sun damaged, double the price of eBay or going higher than amazon prices, which I don’t mind if the staff weren’t rude when asking for video game recommendations. Often why I go to retro game stores is for new game recommendations and I was given rude treatment for asking for a recommendation. I’m not a fan but if you are looking for a retro game store in the area this may be your only option.

Fantastic experience: I've known Jerry (owner) for a long time he is a cool cat, staff is great, you will definitely find retro stuff here and also new, some of the prices on newer stuff need to be updated, a little high at times.

Positive experience: It's alright. Didn't buy anything. Went in to trade. But from what I saw the selection wasn't the greatest. They definitely have some cool stuff, and maybe even some hidden jewels if you look hard enough. Their trade in pricing is terrible. But if you need quick cash in a pinch it's a way to go.

Negative experience: Just be aware a lot of their merchandise has severe sun damage. That can be avoided easily, but I'm assuming they don't care.

Negative experience: My bf went to see if the ps2 and ps3 i had were worth any value. Got laughed at and told they were dusty and not the right kind and some other geek language was said. No customer service/conversation skills. I Can see why the store is empty. Update- Called up there "idk about laughed at" was their response when i referred to the treatment my friend experience. He then said hes worked there for 16 yrs. Idk anyone professional who responds like that or thinks of that as a response. No conversation skills, couldnt really explain the reason for why they couldnt buy the Playstations without using their jargon. And Most professionals will apologize for experience but all he did was double down and still not make any sense

Fantastic experience: In today’s mediocre age of gaming, it’s very difficult to find retro stores that have what it takes to provide some good vibes and much-needed nostalgia. First time walking into Games Galore a couple of weeks ago and I was astounded by the large variety of games as well as every system known to mankind, including the GameCube. The service was great and the prices were surprisingly fair. If you choose to sell your games, keep in mind that they’re only giving store credit but even then the games are so affordable that it’s actually worth it. I’m very impressed with Jacksonville’s scene with retro gaming, I’m glad I found this establishment. I will be back for sure!

Fantastic experience: I got to give this place 5 stars based on selection alone. I went in looking for SNES and N64 games and was blown away by how many rare titles they have. Almost everything I was looking for was there. Such a much better selection that video game rescue and gone broke gaming. I just wish I could afford everything. Prices were a little on the high end. You can get better deals on ebay.

Negative experience: I really want to like this store. They have a lot to choose from, but anything worth buying is hidden behind the counter in literal piles. The whole store always looks a mess, and things near the front of the store are sun damaged due to lack of protection. This place needs some serious TLC from the employees.

Fantastic experience: Bought a Vita here for $150. I'm pleased with my purchase. Great selection of classic and newer titles. I've shopped here once prior to that back in 2018 when RDR2 came out and I also bought a few games I couldn't find anywhere else for a reasonable price. Would do business here again. Also helps that front desk workers are helpful and nice.

Fantastic experience: This is a really great spot for games and game-system repair! The owner and the staff were extremely helpful and they have a massive selection of games and accessories at fair prices. This is a definite place to go if you are looking for older games or systems. My daughter thanks you guys for the new controllers and PS2 since ours went down.

Big selection of used games for a great price, and I got a nice warranty and price with an extra controller with my Xbox One bundle. This will be the first place I look now for my gaming needs.

Negative experience: These people do not clean or test their games at all. I went in a couple weeks ago and they gave me the wrong discs in two of the games I bought. I also went in yesterday and purchased a game and didn’t know until I got home that the disc was scratched so bad it didn’t work.

Positive experience: Not a bad place, I understand it’s so much they deal with but the storage of certain things behind the counter makes me weary as sometimes it’s just everywhere and seems like a hazard to the employees! Prices are okay and seems like some employees are more willing to check in the back for you for a game you’re looking for.

Fantastic experience: This place is somehow a Jacksonville secret. These guys are great for the all the time gamer and the "Hey remember how fun Mario Party for Wii was?" shopper because they collect and sell all the games and consoles you want and forgot about. I hope they stay in business forever.

Positive experience: They have a wide selection of console games for many different platforms. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane with some of the older PlayStation releases. If you don't see what you are looking for right away, ask. The folks manning the counter are happy to help!

Positive experience: Nice selection but surprisingly expensive. GameStop and Facebook sometimes have better deals but games galore makes sure anything they sell works and guarantees it for a certain amount of days.

Positive experience: Bought Army of Two for 360 for $13. These guys always here to help and sell awesome vintage consoles, equipment and devices. Do be sure to check the quality of the disks and make sure they work. I have gotten games that fail to read but they will uphold their i think 30 day refund policy?

Fantastic experience: This place is a classic gamers paradise. They have a incredible assortment of video games and accessories. I went in to buy a Nintendo 64 for my wife for Christmas. I got it and 3 games with HDMI upgrade cables for under $150 where as on Amazon I was looking at $320. Very clean in the inside and quiet. The person helping me was very knowledgeable and quick. Definitely coming back for a PS2 after Christmas.......

Fantastic experience: Go-to place for finding games and equipment for older consoles like Wii, Gamecube, and DS. Hard to gauge what they have in stock at any given time, but definitely worth checking out if you love playing older games. Pretty wide selection of DVDs as well.
