Fantastic experience: I traded in my old NES games and some broken NES consoles for a working console and some new Switch 2 games! I'm glad to keep the old games out of the landfill, and for the opportunity to exchange old games into new games I can play with my kid! Great selection, great trade in value, and great customer support, highly recommended!

Negative experience: Pretty decent selection, but the staff were loudly talking about how much they hate “social justice warriors”, how black people have different genetics, and various other wildly inappropriate topics. Very uncomfortable atmosphere. I’ve been coming here for years, but I won’t be back

Negative experience: If you are in the middelton/madison area I would highly recommend going to Video Game X-Change or Mega Media Xchange instead of this store. No empathy from the staff. I got a used console from them and had tried to return it less than 48 hours, without touching it, after learning this Christmas need had been filled. They claim to have a hard policy for no returns without defects, but then the employee asked which console it was and then reconfirmed a no afterward. Don't say there is hard rule and then give your employees the ability to pick and choose which customers get to return their items.

Negative experience: The store employees are moderately helpful and they have a good selection of used games + devices. But do understand that there is no flexibility in the event the item they sold is defective. You can only receive store credit, which is not useful if they do not have anything else you want. This is posted at the door, but such a rigid policy really leaves a bad taste on the consumer. I had the product not even 24 hours but no exceptions allowed. I guess I will have to be back, but only because I refuse to let the business keep my money for free.

Fantastic experience: I went to GameStop first - found nothing I needed. Spent 5 minutes in Preplayed and was out the door. Customer service was great. Selection was very good and they even have a N64 with Goldeneye on display that you can play.

Fantastic experience: Pretty good selection of vintage games and movies got some nice finds for reasonable prices.

Negative experience: I was a frequent customer and loved browsing their dvd and blu ray section since I collect physical media. One day I walked in to try and sell 2 consoles and 4 controllers. The read head guy named Collin was super off putting immediately and was letting me know he would probably pass on EVERYTHING before even looking at it, since I had them still in my hands. I asked him the reason and he had no real response. He went ahead and checked them for a half hour just to not except anything at all. (mind you I verified most things worked before trying to sell) He left a game disc outside of the console which I asked him if he could clean it, which he then turned rude and up charged me from literally the previous day. I asked him what his problem was and if he is feeling alright, which he also didn’t really respond to. Again I visited frequently but never again since they don’t value loyal customers. The 2 stars is because the other employees are decent and friendly, especially the long haired guy with glasses.

Fantastic experience: The staff is knowledgeable about all aspects of movies and especially video games. They were able to help us quickly with the questions my dad and I both had. I also love their movie "Dump Bin" easily over a hundred movies that are just a dollar regardless of sticker price. Plus they have UltraHD4K movies and Blu-ray 3D movies too. Friendly group with too many toys to play worth. I'm jealous

Negative experience: Not even willing to work with me on several retro game console systems?? Prices are bit higher than, another place less than eight miles away. Fitchburg area..

Fantastic experience: This is a great pre-owned media store. They have a ton of games, movies, consoles, and accessories. I would highly recommend anyone into older videogames make a stop by this shop. Definitely coming back.

Negative experience: Make sure what you buy you want keep. No returns unless the item is defective. Pretty sure I wasn't told that when I bought the game. Thought I had 7 days to return if the item didn't work out. Went to return it as the game was not what I expected but come to find out I can not return due to item not being defective. Out some money and learned a lesson. I will not be coming back as this business model is predatory. Addition after reply: I gave you the game back because I was gonna toss it otherwise as it was not a game worth keeping. As I stated, I'm sure I was told I had 7 days to return it if didn't work out. It didn't. If I had known that deceptive wording was going to be used about returns by the employee, I would've read the receipt. That's my bad. But now you can resell it again to double your money! I'm welcome.

Positive experience: Lots of gems, friendly staff, got a sweet anime series for reasonable price. I would have gotten much more, seeing Die Hard on laser disk was pretty sick and many other childhood/teenage year memories.

Positive experience: Fun, friendly staff, good prices.

Negative experience: Grew up coming here and it was like going to video game or 90’s nostalgic paradise, so I am actually heartbroken to go to the new location and have such a poor experience. Two teens at desk could not help, claimed you can’t call to inquiry on product stock. After this, there were a few minutes left before close, so we decided to walk around through the store, instead the two unprofessional teenagers harassed us about making a purchase, so instead I don’t then no and left. -Can Verify Edit: man working the last shift of the 23rd was fine, the woman was condescending and rude.

Positive experience: Very glad they re-opened. They have a lot of stuff that is hard to find anywhere else. The one problem we had is we purchased a used 3DS game. When we got home and went to play it, the game still had someone else's saved game on it. We have no way to delete the saved game and to start at the beginning since Nintendo doesn't have online services for Nintendo 3DS anymore. So, we purchased a $16 game that starts so far into the game that it's not worth playing. I wish they would make sure people delete anything they have saved on the games before they purchase them for re-sale. * Update We called, and they were very helpful with ideas for ways we can try to fix it. The problem is more about Nintendo taking the 3DS offline than Preplayed. I should have made that clearer. I do hope that people start erasing their saved game data before selling their games.

Fantastic experience: I traded in some Blu-ray movies and felt like I got decent value from them. They have a pretty good DVD and Blu-ray inventory as well as video games for older platforms. Not very many 4k Blu-rays or video games for current-gen consoles when I went. Cool store overall!

Fantastic experience: Bailey and everyone else here is so great. There is a wonderful selection of media and related content, some rare, and all of the staff are enthusiasts and gamers. Fantastic experience: A collector's paradise! Every time I go in, I'm impressed by their huge selection of music, video games, movies, and TV shows. Since it's all used, you won't find recently released things, but I have a lot of fun searching through their displays and finding a classic album or old-school video game.

Fantastic experience: Glad Preplayed is back! Did not know they opened again. Girl friend and I stopped by in looking for some Sega Genesis games and found couple that we picked up. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely be coming back!

Positive experience: I was hoping it still had a great selection of movies and music. Sadly it did not. I will say for gamers it looked like a pretty good selection of devices and games.

Fantastic experience: I was given a Playstation 1 and had no clue if it worked. Took it to them and they checked it out for me and I bought the missing cable and memory card I needed. They were very friendly and hrlpful

Fantastic experience: This place is awesome. People who complain about prices must not recognize the value that preplayed and stores alike bring to the area. To me and many others these places are a cool escape and we'd much prefer to support our local small business than large corporations. Not that the prices are usually all that painful to begin with. They usually have fair offers on trade ins too which allows you to get a new game and help support the store. If you are more concerned about yourself and saving a few dollars then im sorry you have to feel that way.

Fantastic experience: Love to go there. I can usually find classic and more modern movies and CDs. For example, I found James Cagney, 'Angels With Dirty Faces'. This place is a collector's dream, with reasonable prices, and ample parking space. It's also wheelchair friendly.

Fantastic experience: I've been visiting Preplayed for about 2 years now, and it's a great place to go searching for obscure movies, music, games, and shows. The staff is helpful and positive, and the store is well-organized with a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Negative experience: I dunno who's worse, Gamestop or this place. I called before like two weeks ago to see the availability of a power brick that was originally listed as 30$. Next week it was 35$. And now it is 40$. Also lovely that after buying a power supply upcharged twice that it hardly lasts a few uses before it basically breaks and fails to work. Last time I try to buy cheap and convenient, next time I'm giving my money to Amazon

Positive experience: Overpriced. *Used* Switch games for $50-$55. You can get them brand new on sale cheaper. Used games should not be more expensive than new. First party sales aren't uncommon. We are five years into the switches lifespan, there's no reason for this pricing.

Positive experience: Awesome selection. Plenty of nostalgia. Will be visiting more often now that I have discovered it.

Fantastic experience: I love this place, staff is always helpful whether purchasing or selling. And I LOVE even more that you can put your information down for items that you're looking for that they don't currently have.

Negative experience: Mixed feelings…. I bought Mario odyssey used on Nintendo switch. They had it priced at $49, I asked why it was so expensive, the clerk didn’t provide an answer. While he was checking me out i was surprised to find that both Walmart and Best Buy had it In stock for 39. I like to support local business but don’t want to be taken advantage of. If it’s preowned there should be a PreOwned price associated with it. I’ll do better research next time, this is my own fault.

Fantastic experience: this was my second and longest visit to Preplayed - previously stopped in to look for a power brick for a dead Xbox 360 (still haven't fixed it) - This time around I was checking out Blu-ray discs and CD's - Huge selection and I'm guessing prices are fairly competitive - I left with a few movies as well as a couple of CD's - will be making another visit soon - just need to narrow down what type of movies I want to get hard copies of.

Negative experience: Friendly staff and they have just about everything. Definitely won't be returning here. Sold a playstation 1 and 6 original playstation games. Offered my 75 for all of it. I know 3 of those games are going for more than 10 x's that much or more on ebay or Amazon. I know not to expect that much trying to sell through a used store. But come on! Really? 75?? That's pretty offensive! I took the money because I just wanted the stuff gone. Don't sell stuff here. I hope they never sell those items.

Fantastic experience: The ONLY place to go for ALL of your movie and video game needs (in my opinion). Cheap prices, the discs are like new, a massive selection to choose from, you can't go wrong! They also have consoles available with gaming accessories for all kinds of platforms. And they do buy all the stuff they sell as well. After checking out their inventory and the condition of your merchandise, they'll give you a cash offer (most times better than anywhere in town). FYI they stop buying an hour before close!!

Negative experience: I took my game here I was playing it nothing wrong with it I walked away from the counter let them appraise it and they came and told me my wiring was bad came back home try to play my game which I have been playing before I bring it in to get appraised don't work anymore they broke my stuff PrePlayed broke my stuff don't take your stuff here

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal like always, I love going there to get a movie for a romantic night or get a new video game for a sleepless night,and I love the music choice from CD to records for a nice back ground music while I work on a project, and the prices makes all this possible. I love this shop and always will.

They always know about everything i am looking for.mostly games xbox, xbox360, xbox one, wii u, wii, ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4, dreamcast, nes, snes, sega ect. They always know were everything is. I always leave with a bag full. I have to say the prices are a bit high compared to other places. It can get a bit pricey. But I have never gotten a bad game or movie from here. Which is the main reason I love this place. I gave it a 4 out of 5.

Positive experience: Good selection of games and movies. Went in to sell stuff, and it looked like I was the only one selling anything. I waited for 40 minutes. Wandered the store just waiting for a message. Looked at games and DVDs. Settled on 2 old movies after 40 minutes. Go up to counter and ask if they're done looking at my one console and handful of games. They hadn't looked at it yet. If someone had told me that it would be almost an hour I would have left when I got there. Felt like a waste of time

Fantastic experience: Preplayed has been a staple for my daughter and I for many years! They always have a ton of variety for all our old consoles and new. The staff is always very relatable and knowledgeable about most everything there! Not to mention the huge assortment of movies!!

Fantastic experience: I have a friend from when I lived in Milwaukee and she has Game Stops all over in her own town. She strongly prefers PrePlayed because they also have movies and TV series she can't find elsewhere in Milwaukee. Since the pandemic has destroyed a lot of small businesses, every time we talk she asks if PrePlayed is still open. Every time, I'm thrilled to tell her, "yes," and she always makes this super satisfied sound and face. It's such a small joy, really, but she adores it and I'm glad I could lead her to its doors almost 8 years ago. :)

Positive experience: Not much of an impressive selection. The cd displays was sorted in such a way that it took me a moment to realize other genres such as pop were sorted in the metal/rock genre.

Positive experience: A bit shabby. Huge space that they don't really fill with stuff. Obsolescence of CDs and DVDs makes the place seem super dated. Prices are fairly high on most retro games and equipment. Good for an occasional visit but far from the best game store in town.

I play videogames, but I had no idea about some of the older systems that I wanted to buy a gift for. They got me what I needed right away and gave some suggestions based on reviews, personal experience, and sales history.
