Positive experience: Staff seem all great but 2/3 times I go there is some Karen who only wants to hear her own voice. Very unpleasant shopping experience so I'm out of there ASAP and now 2/3 times without buying anything.

Fantastic experience: One of the nicer GameStop's I have visited. The inside is full of different pop culture items. Many new and used games, trading cards from sports and non sports. From my interaction with the staff working there, that person was friendly and helpful with my purchases. Very accommodating. If you are near by or looking for a good location. I would recommend this location.
Positive experience: Called ahead of time as my nephew was looking for specific Pokémon cards. The person I talked to was super nice and helpful. They had a few left. We got there and found what we wanted right away. What took some time was checkout, as apparently, everybody wanted to do that at the same time. There was only one person working the register and he was helping someone with trade-ins, which is fine, but that was not moving quickly. After about 5 minutes another register was finally opened and we were helped. Overall, a fairly pleasant experience a few days before Christmas. Clean store, friendly staff, easy to find parking as it's located at the end the mall/center.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic experience at GameStop thanks to Wayne. He helped our group of three find the perfect Nintendo Switch and even threw in a free GameStop membership with our purchase. Wayne's personable and demure demeanor made the whole process enjoyable. Their exceptional service truly stood out, and we left feeling excited about our new purchase. Highly recommend Wayne for his outstanding customer care!
Fantastic experience: Stopped by for a PC mousepad, they were sold out of all their blank black generic ones but had a bunch of Star wars and other graphic mousepads in stock. Customer service was amazing, greeted me as I walked in and asked what I wanted and showed me to the mousepads, even checked in the back for the black blank mousepads. 10/10 service will come back in future. Also saw they now do trading of graded PSA cards for Pokemon, magic, baseball etc

Negative experience: I honestly wish I could rate them lower, beware if your going to pre-order anything here for the pre-order bonus thing... just don't, they'll give whatever it is away. I pre-ordered mario rpg, which honestly was like a meh purchase to begin with but I have a pin collection and thought it would be cool to get the preorder pin bonus thing. Naw dude these people are gunna make you call the week after the pre-order day and ask if they have the pins in yet since they got shipped out late or whatever and then you're gunna go into the store just to find out they gave all the damn pins away, so now not only have a driven there 3 bloody times but I also have to buy a pin that came with my pre-order from a scalper or a pin collector. Like bruh how incompetent do yall have to be to not be able to do yalls retail job correctly. 0 out of 10, will never recommend. At least not this gamestop, never had a problem with any other ones before this one but maybe yall shoulda gone out of business.

Negative experience: Kyle the assistant manager at Game Stop Mira Mesa is so rude! We were looking for a used nintendo switch game at the game stop mira mesa. We spoke to one of the associates and she said they only have new available and it is last piece. My wife and I told her that we don’t know if my son will like the game and then the associate told us that you can buy the new and you can return it if the game is damaged. I asked her what about if my son doesn’t like the game and the assosicate said YES you can return it. You also have 15 days to return it. I asked the associate why before you cannot return unopened game but she said it is a new policy because some customers buy new games but they found out that the game is damaged. So we purchased the game and it is a last piece. So we got the NEW game and it is NOT SEALED. We decided to return the game the same day and another associate he told us that we cannot return the game because it was opened but got it new but not sealed. So the associate called the Kyle and he told the assosicate the we cannnot return an opened game it it the policy of game stop which is very contradicting to what the lady assosicate told us before we purchase the game. So the associate told us to come back again the next day and talk to the manger and he said manager is nice and Kyle is a rude person. So we decided to come back the next day but when we got to the store no manager only Kyle. We told to him about what happend and he keep insisting the his associates know the return policies. I told to Kyle that the associate told us the we can return the game if my son doesn’t like it. Kyle told me that I am lying. Associate will never say it. So disppointed to Kyle and he is very disrespectul to customer. He should talked first to the lady associate before accusing us . Game Stop corporate should give disciplinary action to Kyle the assistant manaager of game stop! Will pass this complaint to Game Stop corporate. Fantastic experience: Really nice GameStop. The employees are always having a good time. They don't get a lot of older trade ins, but they price match and put the pre-owned stuff together. This location focuses more on the games and hardware with only a couple racks for pop culture gear.
Fantastic experience: Great location and very friendly staff. Solid game selection and valued sales. This is the only way to buy games these days. Saved $30 on a $144 purchase. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm a mainly PC gamer and that I rarely shop at GameStop. I have an Xbox to play Microsoft-exclusives while I'm away at college. This store was the only one nearby that had an Xbox game that I wanted to play. While checking out, I declined the "Pro Membership" offer from a Hispanic employee, who proceeded to rudely tell me that I might as sell my console since I "don't want a free game every year". There are other gaming and streaming subscriptions out there that are worth it compared this pointless one. That comment was unbelievably foolish.
Fantastic experience: Everytime I go here, I'm known by name by almost all the employees. The staff is super cool, helpful, and 9/10 times this store has exactly what im looking for and if they don't they'll make sure to see if they have it somewhere in san diego.
Negative experience: Place is pretty empty. Cashier we had wasn't attentive and didn't really know the answer to the questions I needed answers for. We basically waisted our time coming to this location.

Fantastic experience: They had very good customer service. They saved the game that my son was looking for even though they were about to close. The gentleman explained to me that he could only put it aside but if we arrived before they closed that it would be there for us. We arrived right before they closed and it was there. Negative experience: Went in to buy The Last of Us Part 2 on the release date... After waiting 15-20 minutes, (with less than 10 people in store) I finally reached the front of the line to be told they only had pre-ordered copies but I could wait until after the weekend to see if any were left over... My response? Or I could digitally order it from PlayStation or simply walk to the Target in the same parking lot and get it there, which I did. GameStop is worthless, there is absolutely nothing special about what they do. Go out of business already, I'm done! That will be my last time ever in a GameStop.
Fantastic experience: Very nice
Negative experience: Employee working after 6pm today had a bad attitude. I only came here because my PS3 controller died and I wanted to get another one while I was taking advantage of the buy two get two free sale on games $9.99 and under. This store was the closest one to where I live that has them in stock. Amazon has controllers but all of the retailers have marked up the prices due to the virus pandemic. Needless to say I will avoid this store from now on. The Oceanside store on College has the best employees as well as the Clairemont store.
Negative experience: The employee was pretty helpful. Even tho im a promember and actually bought a case for my switch from here. I was convinced in the process, by a very disgruntled employee, that i was merely settling and i would be getting better value on amazon. I really needed the case for a trip but i AM going to return it in favor for a much more durable case off amazon or something. sad customer service. Good store.

Negative experience: Seriously, why is the "Line Starts Here" sign microscopic, 30ft in the air, 100yds and around the corner from the registers?!?! Maybe put it on an easily visible stand within eyesight of customers to minimize confusion and line cutting. Just a suggestion!

Negative experience: Call them many times to ask about my preorder and find out if they doing a midnight release and no one answers and I've been calling them since 7 am It is now 3pm Phone days they're busy assisting other customers but I doubt that's what they're doing aaaaalll day with no breaks.

Positive experience: I came here to buy Pokemon Ultra Moon and Sun. GameStop unfortunately ain't my first place to shop because they are always priced higher than most places. The games and consoles are more expensive than non gaming stores. Still came here to check out the deals either way. Not to my surprise the deals were not that great and went to Target instead to get my merchandise. One thing that really made this review a 4 star was the staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and willingness to help that got this place a four. Even though I did not purchase anything they asked me if they can help me and filled me in with all the latest gadget.

Negative experience: They messed up my order and treated me like my business was not important and that they had other things they needed to do. I ended up just losing time and gas just to find out they gave someone else my order and had nothing to offer me but a BS apology. What's the point in shopping here anymore? I can get better deals and customer service online, and it's not like the employees offer any kind of expertise.
Negative experience: Horrible customer service. I reserved an item for 24 hour hold to pick up in the store; they do not allow you to purchase the item online for pickup, only to hold the item which is a PIA already. I went into the store the next day, and they told me the item was reseverd byh somebody else nad that cause their reservation came after mine and I hadn't picked mine up already, they gave someone else priority. So the item was right in front of me, but they refused to sell it to me and never gave me a courtesy notification so that I wouldn't waste my time driving to the store and waiting through huge lines during the holiday rush. Absolutely unacceptable. They offered to reserve it at another store (why would I do that when you cancelled my other reservation?), but did not offer to compensate me in any way to have it shipped or for my time and gas. The manager wouldn't even look me in the eye or talk to me and just hid behind his employees like the coward he is. I then was resigned to having it shipped out, but Gamestop has the worst and slowest shipping service ever. It is 2 weeks later and it just shipped out. Needless to say, I will be returning the item as soon as I get it cause I don't need it at this point. I will never shop at any GameStop again, and I will campaign to all my family and friends to go else where. It won't be hard, cause they are already angry with this crappy store.
Fantastic experience: I come here whenever they have deals because other game stores have better prices. the workers here are very knowledgeable about games and the systems and very helpful if you need to make a decision and dont know which is is better. awesome place
Positive experience: It's a decent experience, some of the employees overly insist on the "GameStop" specials i.e. their warranty and savings card. I have found that the prices in store can be alot higher than online or at other retailers, not to mention they don't price match so be sure to check online first.
