Fantastic experience: I came in to return an online order (pre-owned PS4 w/ warranty) and had a very nice experience! The associate helping me was very knowledgeable and willing to help, even though there were a few hiccups in processing my return. She did not rush me or brush off my concerns. As for replacing the defective console, she told me about several options she had available at this location, and I settled on a new PS5. She was able to get the credit for my return put towards this console and answered all my questions regarding the Sony warranty & GameStop Pro membership. I love my new PS5 :) Thank you.

Negative experience: Went in with my friends. The lady with glasses has so much attitude and has a stale face every time we go in there. This location is closest to us, that's why we go there. I guess we will have to spread the word about horrible customer service here and start going somewhere else.

Negative experience: This place optimizes the physical game scene in 2024 for current platforms. Bad selection. Non competitive pricing. The store smells horrible. It honestly looks like a front; not a video game store. The meme stock company has a true dud in this store. Hard pass. Won't return. Employee was friendly enough. Very monotonous and unenthusiastic. Walmart is a better experience. And that's not saying much.

Negative experience: Went in to do a trade today , and was met by the rudest female associate there . She had absolutely no interest in helping me . There were no customers there , so I figured there would be a smooth transaction . My console had a skin on it and she straight away said “ we do not take it with a wrap”. I offered to taken it off and she said “ oh, it’ll be sticky”. I just left and went to the GameStop down the road , where I got my trade ( with the wrap on the console ) with no issues . Got my PS5 , a game, and gifts . I guess my business and my money was not needed there .

Negative experience: Worst customer service ever ! We went to the store exactly at 11 am (as it said it opens 11 am). There was one staff member (caucasian lady) told us that it will open after 20 min ! We waited for a while. Not only did she open up late she was not helpful and all !!! She was being slow, showing no interest when I asked for help. When i commented that she wasn’t helping she had attitude and was completely disrespectful. Do not go there !

Negative experience: Saturday around 130pm’ish, stopped in to pick up a PS5 and some games with my spouse. Upon entering the Latina/Hispanic female employee said hello and welcome in with her back faced to us. No big deal, so we walk up and awkwardly stand at the counter until she turns around and addresses her. Nice enough when we tell her what we want and then proceed to look at games. Asked her if the ps4 games work with the ps5 console, her answer “I don’t really know” - waiiiittttt whatttttt!!! You work at a game store like a legit video game store how do you not know this ? But okay, we find our games and go up to check out. Thankfully I read reviews about being sold a membership when you don’t want it/don’t ask for it. We didn’t want the membership but was told it was free and decided we would go ahead and get it if it was free for the year. On the pin pad screen we see a 2 line items for memberships. One is “$0.00” and the other was about roughly about 26$ or so. We don’t feel the math is mathing if the membership is free, so I pull out my calculator to add it up. Both of us ask why it’s showing a fee if the membership is free and her answer is basically “you’re getting it back”. Ok, but how am I getting it back. Legit asked this woman over 4x how and why , and she couldn’t answer. She got upset and said we were difficult because we were calculating and forgetting that there are taxes. No ma’am, no! We aren’t stupid and know that the math ain’t mathing and you’re not going to gaslight me into thinking I’m difficult bc I want to calculate and make sure you’re not a thief like the other reviewers have written. Eventually, for the 6th time I asked how is it free when I’m running my card for the amount that’s on the screen WHICH includes a membership fee. She stutters. Tells us it’s coming back to our number- whatttt?!!!!. At this point, you can tell she’s stumbling and then decides to make it about us, again. Of course, folks just can’t handle the heat and so she started whining when I directly checked her. Forget this store. If an employee at a video game store thinks it’s okay to be that difficult and unhelpful, take your money to Best Buy - which is what we did and the experience was well worth the extra money paid.

Negative experience: Where do I start. This store has so many ups and downs. The staff here now is so bad. Last week went in to return games I got online and had to watch an associate threaten the manager on duty. I was asked to stay in the store by the mod and give my information for a statement. And was told to talk to the store manager jewel about this. This man was more concerned about why the mod had me call them over the situation of things. Not if his people where safe what took place nothing. This is poor leadership at its finest. Maybe the choice in hiring these people was out of desperation. But none of these people should be in manager or leadership roles. I've reached out to corporate about this situation as well since my return trade credit was improperly done. The 85.63 I was supposed to have was never placed on the merch card. But I know the store manager probably doesn't care and won't care.

Negative experience: I went there to buy a gift card the woman was on the phone the whole time went to the front made it looked like she was going to help me out and then went to the back to continue her phone call I was just standing there awkwardly like okay is someone else coming in the back to help me out I think she was the only one working that day I thought it was super unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Came in looking for something for my husbands birthday and wasn’t really sure what to get him. Ric was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Even with customers in line, I have never seen someone handle all of the chaos while still making sure everyone felt taken care of and he has an amazing personality. He had the whole store laughing and smiling. I felt bad for him because he was the only person working on such a busy day, but that didn’t stop him from having a positive attitude and making us all feel acknowledged. KUDOS TO RIC!

Negative experience: I walked into the 5011 gamestop at 8:45 to do a trade in on march 22nd and was immediately denied. The employee was already counting down drawers. With the store open. Didnt even ask if i wanted credit till I told my husband husband lets go buy the game somewhere else. He then tired back track by saying he could do credit if I just wanted to buy a game. I’m so flabbergasted by the fact I was denied a trade in for three scannable ps5 games. Literally would have taken less than 5 minutes. The amount of unprofessional that the employee showed was crazy. They wonder why i dont renew my membership to help their corporate numbers up. Im done shopping with this company cause every employee is rude and standoffish

Fantastic experience: Today I stopped in GameStop in Aurora Illinois and Yolanda assisted me with my purchases and pre orders. I had an excellent experience working with Yolanda as she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the games I was interested in. I would highly recommend going to GameStop in Aurora Illinois and working with Yolanda.

Negative experience: Very disappointing. My budget on Saturday February 24th was $500 to spend on games. I arrived here at 4:45pm. The door was locked and a sign read “Left at 4:45. Return at 5:45pm.” There were 3 other customers out there confused also. I went home and just spent my $500 online. This location must not need customers.

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Ric who helped me trade in an old console, games and accessories toward the purchase of a new PS5! Ric talked me through Gamestop's trade in policy and process to ensure I was getting the top dollar for my items - even with some of them not being in the best condition. I also want to give him kudos for being the only one in the store and still being able to help out 3-4 customers at the same time with varying items to purchase - all without neither one of us feeling neglected. And funny enough, Ric seemed even more excited about my purchasing of the new system than I was (and I was pretty excited)! Always great to see someone so passionate about their work!

Negative experience: Rude rude rude. Going to fox valley or anywhere else Edit the person was Yolanda. She will ask for your email and sign you up for pro with our asking or telling you, and charge you for it. You won't know until you get a text, after you leave.

Negative experience: RACIST MANAGER YOLANDA! HELD US COSTUMERS HOSTAGE LOCKED AND BLOCKED THE DOOR BECAUSE SHE WAS YELLING AT A WORKER FOR TRYING TO FIX THEIR SINK AND SHE TRIED TO CALL THE COPS ON HIM AND RACIALLY PROFILED HIM AND LIED ABOUT THE SITUATION. Negative experience: This is my second time shopping at the store and my second time having a bad experience with Yolanda. After threatening to call the district manager because I came off “as a threat” for politely letting her know I was the next customer in line, she had ripped off the “29.99” sticker on my product I was purchasing and rang it up at $34.99 . I do not recommend shopping at this location. Try GameStop in Oswego! Very friendly staff at that location.

Negative experience: extremely rude employees working there. I was buying a game and when asked as usual if I wanted to sign up for their "membership" i said i wasn't interested and already knew about it. The worker than became hostile and said he wished he had an income he felt comfortable throwing away money with. (which is laughable) i understand gamestop forces their employees to hard sell every person who walks in to buy a membership but its getting ridiculous when you're insulting your customers. This is the reason nobody wants to work at, or spend money at these stores. if u want physical video games go literally anywhere else. I've never given anywhere a bad review before but im tired of getting disrespected every other time i go in to one of these stores.

Negative experience: Pre-ordered the physical copy of stray for the PS5. I paid for the game upfront. Went in a day after release date to pick up my copy and was told they didn't have any copies left. Ok??? What is the point of pre-ordering a game and paying for it in full if you can't even fulfill the actual order?Cancelled my order and was refunded and went across the street to bestbuy and picked my copy up in person.

Negative experience: I recently purchased a game, about 1 week ago. The game went on sale today. I called for a price adjustment to corporate. They said, "because the order has been processed they can't adjust it." They directed me to return the game and repurchase the order. I will do that, but unfortunately, I will be bringing business elsewhere from now on. It seems like a corporate scam to not price adjust. So silly. I know other business can and do, do this. Sorry Gamestop, I can get games elsewhere.

Negative experience: Just stopped by to purchase an Xbox one game and was told they are not allowing customers into the store because of the sale and purchases of PS5's. So I went to Dirac replay and purchased my game. I then came back to show the acting manager that I took my business some where else. So sad that GameSpot had stooped to this level. UPDATE, I JUST CALLED CORPORATE AND THEY SAID FOR SAFETY PURPOSES THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING PEOPLE IN THE STORE, THIS STORE HAD TEN PEOPLE IN THE STORE DURING THE HIGH OF THE PANDEMIC NOW THEY ONLY ALLOW 2 PEOPLE AT TIME.

Negative experience: Oh my gosh! This gamestop is awful! If you ever want access to any of the newest stuff, or hope to come across any new product, this gamestop is not the place! They do preorders only, so if you hope to find a copy of any game, good luck. Months ago, I went in for a copy of the new mario collection that came out for the 25th anniversary and got denied because I didn't have a preorder. Now present day I figure hey, why not give it another shot. They are completely sold out of TCG product. I then ask the manager (tall blond guy, only person working there) if they have any promos remaining. He said he gave ALL OF THE PROMOS to 3 guys who bought him out of TCG products the other day. Instead of doing a rational thing and limiting stock per person, he let scalpers win again. What are 3 people going to do with ALL of your store's promo cards. I hope he gets demoted.

Negative experience: Went into GameStop the other day to trade in and pick up a game. Well, the Bayonetta 10th anniversary ps4 version which came out on the 18th. Walked in spoke to the boy behind the counter ready to start our transaction. He said that copy was their last and it was preordered. Both me and my boyfriend looked at each other like “so what?” He stated “well I don’t know if the customer called in to hold it..” their preorder policy states they hold games up to 48 hours and (because of the employees) may hold longer if in communication. The girl manager just stood there while the conversation went on, acted like nothing happened. The employees response was for us to go to the mall store which just causes us a longer trip when we should have been able to purchase the game there, it was in stock. We ended up trading the games for cash (which is less) and just buying Bayonetta at Best Buy. The whole situation was needlessly annoying and time consuming.

Negative experience: I guess this place is going to be out of business real soon. Not because of the digitalization of gaming consoles like Microsoft already did it this year with xbox but cause this place sells game for high price and when you go back for trade they literally give you $2-3 back on the same game they sold for $60. I really think they need to think ahead.

Negative experience: Went in to pick up new headsets and the manager on staff was very unpleasant. He asked me if I knew what I was doing. I would like to hope it was not because I was a girl but, he was very nice to the gentleman that came in. So very condescending and talked really slow to make sure i understood. First he told me the headsets I wanted weren't system compatible and was very hesitant to let me look at it myself. Low and behold, they were compatible. I asked about a few games coming out soon and he, again, talked really slow to make sure I understood and went to explain that modern warfare is called so because of the use of modern weapons. At this point I just paid for my stuff and left. Never again will I go to this location. I will not be treated like a moron for being a girl.

Positive experience: Prices are ok. Always tries to sell me membership upgrade even though i already have a pro card.
