Negative experience: I was really excited to bring my husband to this GameStop and I’m so disappointed in our experience. Aspen was working by themselves (that’s what we were told) and we spent an hour in line because she prioritized a game trade while there was a line literally to the door. When the costumer doing the trade noticed the line they offered to let the others be checked out first but Aspen laughed it off and said “I’m getting paid to be here one way or another” which I found very rude because she didn’t even try to say it quietly. As patient as everyone is being no one should have to wait in line for an hour to check out that’s absolutely absurd. We were not greeted when we came in the store our concerns for the line were dismissed and laughed off. I hate that we had this experience because my first time in this store a different worker was here and she was so kind and helpful I just wasn’t expecting this. It would have been nice if the costumer experience was better prioritized by the worker present because several costumer have grumbled complained about walked out. She’s unable to find the necessary information for the trade but keeps laughing and saying she doesn’t care how long it takes and that Leah trained her to do things this way. She even joked that we should complain to Travis the district manager since she’s the only one here. I would give zero stars if it was an option and if we decide to come back it will be while Aspen is NOT here.

Negative experience: Bruh. I HATE coming to this store so bad. There was two people "working". One was. The other was standing there telling the one working what she was doing wrong in a demeaning manner. I was there to return an Xbox one controller that I bought that had stick drift, so they DON'T check the controllers coming in before they sell them. Then, because I bought it with a card, I won't get my refund for 5-7 business days. Which to me is total nonsense because I didn't wait 5-7 business days to pay them. But. Whatever. This place sucks. Go to Walmart.

Negative experience: Over with Gamestop. Walked in with my friend on a release day for pin collections, passed on it since they had the Lucario box marked for 120. Saw 151 tins for 35. Jade "the manager" tells my Pro Member friend that he can have 2 and I can have 1 since I wasn't a member. My friend was gonna get one and then decided that he wanted to get me one. She then said no because "you didn't want 2 and now do, and that's how we combat scalpers" lmao Jade is hilarious because she says this with a straight face while selling release day boxes at ABOVE market price. Ridiculous, the whole company, and Jade "like the stone", more like must have been stoned thinking we were gonna buy. That's how WE combat scalpers.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed with my experience at GameStop Northlake, and based on this interaction, I would strongly caution others before purchasing any warranties or expecting basic customer service from this location. We purchased a headset along with the warranty, which is specifically intended to cover defects. Less than 20 days later, the headset split cleanly at the seam while being worn, a textbook manufacturing defect, not accidental damage. Despite this being obvious, the associate initially attempted to classify it as accidental damage and pushed back repeatedly. After significant back-and-forth, the associate (Melvin) contacted his manager and based on what the manager said informed us that: The headset could not be returned because it had been 20 days They did not have the same model in stock We could not upgrade to a different headset and pay the difference because it was “against policy” In short: they sold a warranty they had no ability to honor. We were offered no meaningful resolution whatsoever and were told to return the next day to speak with the manager directly. I did exactly that—and the experience was even worse. The manager was rude, aggressive, and dismissive. We again had to debate whether the damage should even be covered under warranty (it clearly should), only to arrive at the same dead end: no inventory, no alternatives, no solutions. At no point did the manager demonstrate basic problem-solving skills, professionalism, or customer care. Their behavior made it immediately clear why the associate was unwilling or unable to help independently. Honestly i do not blame the associate. This is clearly due to poor management. For comparison, I went to a different GameStop location and the issue was handled quickly, professionally, and without resistance. Offering several solutions even when they did not have the exact item i needed in stock, Which confirms that this is not a company-wide issue, but a location-specific failure in management and training. I am not someone who leaves negative reviews, but this experience was serious enough that it needs to be documented. I hope this results in additional training for staff and management at this location and, at the very least, helps prevent another customer from having such a frustrating and unnecessary experience. Very, very poor customer service.

Negative experience: I had Madden 26 being delivered on my birthday yesterday and was excited to play, but when I opened up the case, it was empty. This was the first mishap this has happened to me as a customer. Evan called up customer service and they wouldn’t let me get a return or let me have the disc to the game. To make matters worse, they lied to me in having the game being delivered this week but it’s going to be delivered next week. This will be the final time that I will buy from this establishment. I expected better from them but this has been a total disaster and a disappointment. Bought this game for $77 and they changed the price right after I got it. I am done with buying games from here.

Negative experience: Came all the way here for a sign on the door to say they were gone for an hour and to come back. Fed ex guy arrived to deliver something and couldn’t because they weren’t there. Another woman pulled up and was upset because she drove all the way here too and said they did the same thing (left and locked the doors) the other day. Unacceptable. Reviewing so maybe management finds out this is happening and makes some adjustments.

Fantastic experience: T.J. was a tremendous help with us when we were looking for PS5 games for my 11 yo granddaughter. He was very informative in the ratings and what they meant since I am new to the gaming trend. He also was a big help in assisting us with the Sale items and we actually found some pretty good deals allowing more for other items she wanted. The store was very neat and organized making our experience that much better.

Negative experience: Store has been closing early around 5pm due to “technical difficulties”. People do have jobs and can't make it to the store in time even though the store hours indicate is supposed to close around eight or 9on. I even tried canceling an online order and they did not cancel it for me which was a mess

Positive experience: Not much there that you couldn't buy from Walmart. Game Stop use to have a wide variety of games on may older consoles, now its reduced to a small collection of used games on current consoles along with novelty items.

Negative experience: On 8/6/21 around 7pm to 8:15pm. Called Concord Mills gamestop, Concord Cannon gamestop and Mooresville gamestop asked them if they have my hero academia funko pop Fat gum funko pop and they all told me that Northlake gamestop had one. Called first, no answer. Okay cool drove up their and immediately said no. But the guy who worked there with glasses was lying threw his teeth. Nervous and couldn't even look me the eyes. Didn't say nothing bad to him, just walked away and he started following me to my car outside. (Creep) Next day they today 8/7/21 it was not in their system. Nothing but a lie and every unprofessional. Rubbish! Absolute Rubbish! Zero stars by the way.

Positive experience: The employees, particularly the manager, are great. They're knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful, and they keep the store clean and in good condition. I'd give this location 5 stars, but it's Gamestop. The corporate flaws are simply too big to ignore. In fact, if it weren't for the local management of this store, I wouldn't even step foot in a Gamestop. That's how great the manager and employees are.

Fantastic experience: Associates here are relaxed and helpful. They aren't pushy, but just remember that Gamestop makes them ask about preorders and warranties. They also have more selection than the mall stores probably due to the larger space. Good spot to pick up physical copies of games. Kinda sad that physical media is being phased out.

Negative experience: Would rate less if it were possible, GameStop lies to it's customers, and it's investors. Don't believe me? try getting out of there without them trying to do whatever possible to get you out without a "used" game or a PowerUp card you don't want. At this point I'd drop some cash just to place a bet on how long it'll take them to either A) get a lawsuit, or B) fail completely as a company if that were doable; could probably make a fair bit of money. Honestly, save yourself the nightmare and just get your games either digitally, through places like eBay, amazon, etc, or just....anywhere else really. Not worth the gas to go here, or even the energy to go across the complex to their store if you're already in the area. In all reality, they get a -5 rating from me.

Fantastic experience: Great Place. Good deals on new releases and Preowned games for pro members. The cashier really helped me out and was friendly. Bought two preowned games and got one free and preorder mk11. I actually didn’t have any intentions of preordering mlb the show 19 since it comes out tomorrow but he basically pursuarded me with awesome packs in the game and I just couldn’t resist so amazing place, good staff definitely worth it.
