Fantastic experience: Always a super friendly and welcoming staff. They just expanded, and honestly wow, it looks great! I’ve traded in old systems and games, also picked up a several games and things over time, and every experience has felt fair and easy. Definitely one of those hidden gems in Cape Coral… you’ve got to check it out!

Fantastic experience: New bigger store is great very clean and organized!

Fantastic experience: Came in on Tuesday, April 21 around 3PM. Found some games, the new store layout is great. The employees are really relaxed/knowledgable. Customer with a return crashed the environment, loud, aggressive, blatant disregard for other shoppers and the worker's patience/dignity. The store would be better off refusing business with people like that. He got his return, but he still wasn't happy. Exceptions made for the aggressive/disloyal customers is what makes for more interactions like that. Hopefully if the situation is preventable they do that, but from what it sounded, the fault was admittedly on the customer's. This just bothers me as someone who works for a living too. Wish the best for the store and its employees, its hooked me up with a lot of good finds, and I'll continue to shop.

Fantastic experience: Every time my wife and myself have gone in to Game Craze it’s always been a good experience. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never had a problem there. I’ve gotten both of my PlayStation’s and games from them. I’ll always go there and recommend them to anyone!! And the expansion looks amazing! I was totally surprised when I walked in for the first time.

Fantastic experience: The store is very big inside with a huge selections of pre-owned and new games across many different consoles. I havent tried there trade in system but it seem standard enough like with most places. And, staff is helpful if you need assistance or have any questions.

Negative experience: This is a horrible business store. Owner does not know how to negotiate deals. No prices tells me a lowball offer on a video game. That is well worth $100 plus right now and you really can’t get it without traveling far. You really can’t find the right price for the game either The price of the game is going up. They had this game in at the end of February 2 in stock went in to go buy it in the second week of March and it was listed for 80 in February but then listed for 90 in March. The price of the game went up and the store owner does not know how to negotiate nor sell, nor how to not giving an attitude to clientele Nor run of business very well, it is very sad to see this Very good store that I once sold my games to and went to go buy stuff here for my games and they turn around and do this to me. I Took my games and left and I will never return to game crazy again not unless there’s another store owner or actual people that know how to negotiate prices and know how to deal business that store. Owner does not know anything about selling product nor talking about product she knows nothing about the game. I was selling her recommend not selling your games here they will lowball you look up your game prices before you go in or anything video game related

Game Craze

Hi Parrish,

This isn’t a case of us “not knowing how to negotiate”. It’s simply a case of you not agreeing with the offer.

We don’t operate as a negotiation-based store. We offer based on current market value, with both a cash and store credit option, and it’s always your choice to accept or decline. That was explained clearly during your visits.

After the second visit with the same item, it was clear you were hoping for a different outcome, but our pricing doesn’t change based on repeated visits or pressure.

Wanting more for your item is completely fair. Expecting us to change how our business operates to match that isn’t.

You were also told you may get more selling privately, which is true. As a retail business, we have to buy in a way that allows us to resell fairly without overcharging the next customer. That balance is exactly why we’ve been here for 30 years.

As for the pricing you mentioned, we don’t relist the same item at different prices. We’ve bought and sold multiple copies of that game over the last few months, each one based on the market at the time it came in. When the market changes, so do prices.

We took the time to explain all of this in store. The offer didn’t change, and that seems to be the real frustration here.

We’re always happy to make offers and explain them. What we don’t do is adjust them based on pressure or personal feelings.

Negative experience: employees are annoying to talk to

Game Craze

Hi there,

We’ll definitely take this into consideration and work on being less annoying to talk to moving forward.

In the meantime, if you ever feel like elaborating, we’d love to know what we did so we can improve beyond just… existing.

Thank you!

Negative experience: This is a really cool place and I was impressed by the wide range of items they had. However, some items didn't have prices on them. I selected a few game guides that didn't have prices and brought them to the front to see how much they were, but the employee said he had to text the owner and ask. After waiting about 10 minutes for the owner to text back, I eventually just left because I really didn't NEED the game guides and didn't feel like waiting anymore. Perhaps I will give them another shot sometime in the future, but might try out some of the other similar spots in the area.

Negative experience: Buyer beware , You get service with a sneer because none of them want to be there, customer service is non existent here. If you want to feel good about your purchase , You should go check out 8Bit hall of fame gaming instead , located in gulf coast town center.

Negative experience: now this store is a cool place, has a decent selection of retro games at really good pricing. BUT, the guy who checked me out was incredibly rude to this kid who came in trying to sell some games. The kid was probably 15yrs old and asked the guy behind the counter very politely if he was sure he wouldn’t buy any of the games he had brought in, to which the guy went “no bro i already told you we can’t take any i don't know why you’re asking me again.” to which the kid immediately began profusely apologizing for. I honestly really considered just telling the guy to forget it and leaving. Even before this when i asked the guy a question about a game he looked at me like i was stupid and said “it literally says it on the case”. The energy in this place just seemed like everyone working was miserable and its really sad just seeing a grown man berate a kid like that for doing practically nothing. I will not be coming back here. If you want retro games go to 8-bit hall of fame

Negative experience: I will start off saying my family and I shop almost every weekend at their flea market and about every other week in their cape coral location spending between $100.00-$300.00 every visit my son bought guitar hero and their aftermarket guitar he used it twice it quit working so he tries to take it back for exchange not even wanting money back just a simple exchange for one that does work and he got denied because he lost the receipt it had their price sticker on the box and everything the most frustrating part was they sit there for half an hour trying to get it to work and my son is telling them it just doesn't work.. lost a loyal customer I rather pay over pricing at 8 but and eBay then shop back here again got a broken guitar that we can't do anything with because they don't stand by their produce for a simple exchange I feel ripped off

Game Craze

Hi Amanda,

First, I really appreciate you and your family supporting us as often as you do, that truly means a lot to us. I’m so sorry this experience left you feeling this way.

I also want to apologize because this situation should have been handled differently. Any issues involving defective items or exchanges are supposed to be reviewed with management, especially when something stops working shortly after purchase. Based on what you described, that step was missed, and I take responsibility for that.

While we do have policies regarding receipts, we also aim to be reasonable and stand behind what we sell. This is not the experience we want anyone to have.

I would really like the opportunity to make this right for you and your son. Please reach out to me directly or stop back in and ask for me so I can personally take care of this.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It will be addressed with our staff so it doesn’t happen again.

Fantastic experience: This place is AWESOME! Staff, super friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all my questions. If you’re in SWFL and want to get any games from current to vintage systems, this is definitely your place to come to. During my visit the staff informed me that they are expanding the location, next door. To be bigger and more stuff. Darren and Giovanni were so pleasant and easy to talk too. Your go to place for all your gaming needs! Oh, they also have a great selection of memorabilia stuff.

Negative experience: Posting a second review in response to the owners response to my review from yesterday, since Google informed me I can’t edit my review or respond due to the review being reported. Owner is pulling the “Oh I’m so nice” card smiling after yesterday, however the audio has already been shared online as well as her being heard sliding my items across the counter in her fit of rage and closing the door in my face while trying to reason with and be decent to her. She’s genuinely losing it, which shows in this mood swapped response. If you’re truly sorry, I’ll come in and have a sit down and you can explain to my face why you berated me the way you did and forced me out of the store. Outside of that, you did horrible, acted horrible, and responded exactly as I knew you would. I wasn’t having an off day my love, and you can hear it in the audio I recorded. I simply didn’t want to sell my expensive stuff I had just bought from you for lower than I hoped, and you lost it. I wanted to trade towards one item, kept pointing that out, and it progressively got worse and worse because handling math and comps was too difficult. There were also no active trades before me, other trades were waiting for you to finish with me so they could begin. Twisting the narrative when I have the situation documented and fresh to my memory while I’m extremely credited locally is sad. Again, do better. That wasn’t a medical condition, that was you upset I wanted to keep a couple of items out of less than 10 total items which caused your bad book keeping and memory to then take it out on me. Maybe just document each item and its price as you go, and if someone passes on your offer you just retotal quickly like a normal person and don’t begin losing yourself in the music. If we want to play the medical condition card, you guys took so long that my medical issues ACTUALLY began flaring up due to the time waste to the point I was falling asleep standing up. You weren’t shaking due to some medical condition, that’s just stress and anxiety from not knowing how to navigate a social hiccup YOU caused. Sit down offer stands, but unfortunately your response is layered in deceit, and a false narrative you somehow built in half a day which is strange to witness. I had immense respect for you folks and would consistently bring you my leftovers and even grails from giveaways and shows and my own PC - you tarnished that relationship to be how you were being yesterday and in this response but in reality I don’t think you realize how bad you look until you listen to the audio, or maybe watch back your own cameras which will blatantly show you losing it. We can chat it out at some point, but until then my initial review and this one stand, and I’ll continue advocating for a better local store that doesn’t mistreat us and then gaslight us to avoid looking bad. Again, do better.

Negative experience: If no stars was an option, they’d be getting it. I’ve bought, traded, and sold thousands in both video games and pokemon items with these folks. Came in today after getting my daily fluids with some sealed retro, CIB games, and a quirky N64 wheel. Fast forward 40 minutes of waiting to get comps on items, I realized I would’ve rather kept the wheel and my copy of Zelda I brought in since I just bought the Zelda from them in January. Nobody wants to willingly lose like that, so logically I rearranged my trade-in to match what I was trading towards. I never got loud, and never once insulted anyone during this process, however for some reason the lady who I’ve spoken to numerous times and done plenty of business with started losing her mind over having to retotal four items. She started berating me for “overcharging people” when I openly stated that someone happened to buy one of my wheels for $100, making extremely rude and snarky comments, and just genuinely being an off-putting person. She was so angry she was visibly and audibly shaking, then slid my belongings across the counter like trash and forced me out of the store while continuing to berate me. Never had this experience with her before, but I’ll definitely be informing everyone about this experience. If comping out less than 10 items at your job is overwhelming to the point of arguing with your customers, stay home. And again, I did not instigate anything. Do not even try to plant the blame on me, that woman openly lost her mind in a store of customers. I have the entire thing recorded on my phone from the moment I realized what was going on, but it’s just audio. Bad days happen, but quite frankly this was unprovoked and undeserved rudeness that pushed away a consistent customer who regularly sent people to your store. I’ll now be referring them to 8 Bit, and Dynamo once they start moving games again. Cheers for the wasted hour of time, please do better. As a consistent patient coming in from at home treatments and the hospital, I can only imagine how awful you folks make normal people feel when you’re having bad days. Do better.

Game Craze

Hi Shon! It’s me, the one who apparently should “stay home.” ☺️

You’ve been in many times before to sell and trade, which is why I assumed you might just be having an off day. We’ve always had normal interactions in the past, so the tone of this one caught me a bit off guard.

As I explained in the store, I price and buy items based on fair market value. I know you mentioned selling one privately for $100, but I run the store in a way that’s fair to the seller and the next customer walking through the door. If someone wants to charge whatever they can get in a private sale, that’s their choice. It’s just not how we run the store.

Our trade-in process is first come, first served, so when there are others ahead in line it can take some time. I always appreciate everyone’s patience while we work through them. Unfortunately trading in isn’t always lightning speed.

When the conversation started going sideways, I ended the trade and returned your items so things didn’t escalate further. If our values on pricing don’t line up, that’s okay! We’re not pizza, we can’t make everyone happy.

Also just to clarify.. the shaking you mentioned isn’t anger. I have a medical condition that causes that. I promise I wasn’t about to turn green and go full Hulk over a trade-in.

At the end of the day, we do our best to keep trades fair, prices honest, and the store welcoming for everyone who walks through the door.

Fantastic experience: I buy too many games and this place helps me do that. The only complaint I have here is the lighting. It's impossible to read the titles on the games behind the counter. My eyesight is piss poor but the terrible fluorescent lighting in here makes it impossible. I've practically given up on ever knowing what's in the back corner. I bet there's some great stuff just hiding out back there and I'll never know. Other than that, it's great. Awesome selection and pretty decent prices. The folks working there are always helpful.

Kevin Needs2stop Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: This place is terrible and it has nothing to do with the selection or the prices. The employees are just rude, ignorant and just have no concept of what they should be doing. I had two games and a couple of cards I wanted to buy and there's three staff members on shift. One is dealing with a trade in and two are just running around the store asking other customers if they need assistance while I'm telling them I'm ready to cash out. One employee is taking 15 minutes to find the disc and without telling me, decided to clean each disc making me wait over 20 minutes when I'm the only one in line. I tried to confront the employee just standing around the situation and he just looked at me, looked away and pretended he was stocking..... I'll be going to eBay!

Fantastic experience: The most comprehensive game shop I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. Fair prices for all vectors. Staff is helpful. They will not just glom on you like a fly but if you ask or grab their attention they will help. Just ask questions and they will be more than happy to chat your ear off about the games or systems you want

Joseph Agnello Posted on Google 10 months ago

Negative experience: Terrible place to do business! The weird looking kid with long hair who has no personality was spamming my button to open the disk drive and decided to say my disk drive wasn’t working on my console. So they decided to not buy my console because of that. Then the female worker will tell you that you have an attitude when she’s getting an attitude and being disrespectful to her customers. Unprofessional and she will tell you to shut up and not let you speak because she doesn’t want to deal with it. Then afterwards she will lie and say more things are wrong with your console to get the price lower. (It’s a Preowned console it’s not going to be perfect like a new one) Then proceeds to say we don’t need to buy it we have 100s of them. I would never go back to this place they don’t have respect for there customers and the people that walk in that door. At first I had a respectful conversation with the lady the day before and thought wow this place is amazing I’ll be back. Wow I was wrong! The next day was a nightmare and never felt so disrespected in my life. Haha it’s funny how much you had to explain your side of the story to feel right about the things that happened when you know exactly how you acted. A customer isn’t going to lie about their experience Instore in a 1 star review especially having saying they had an amazing time the day before. So we all know who got out of line.. you did ma’am. You should control yourself more cause you’re not the main character in my “sequel” I also sold my console for more than you offered and I thank you for turning my console away because I was left with a 5 star review and more money so that’s how I know it was all bs coming from your shop.

Game Craze

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review—though we’ll admit, this one read more like a dramatic monologue than a recap of a simple console trade-in.

Now, let’s clear a few things up—minus the flair for fiction.

You came in with an Xbox 360, missing a power brick (which, again, is fine—we adjust for that). As always, we started testing it. I personally reviewed the footage, and here’s what actually happened: our staff flagged a concern about the disc drive, and I stepped in to take a look myself.

From the moment I walked out, you were already elevated—talking over me, repeating yourself, and getting defensive. I calmly asked you multiple times to lower your tone and just talk to me like a fellow human. I also told you, clearly and more than once, that I was still going to buy the console. But instead of listening, you kept doubling down—stuck in a dialogue loop where you were hearing me, but clearly not understanding.

Let’s be crystal clear: I did not tell you to “shut up.” That’s not how we operate. I was trying to have a respectful, level-headed conversation—but you made that nearly impossible by turning a simple trade-in into a theatrical performance.

Here’s the deal: “working” doesn’t always mean “sellable.” We put our name behind everything we sell, so we hold high standards—not to insult anyone, but to protect our customers. We sell to families, collectors, and gamers who expect reliability, and we take that seriously.

And yes, I did mention we have plenty of 360s in stock. That’s not arrogance— but we don’t need to buy systems we aren’t comfortable standing behind.

What’s not acceptable? Belittling a staff member’s appearance and calling someone “weird” over a trade-in disagreement. That says more about your attitude than our business. My team shows up with integrity, patience, and professionalism—even when it’s not returned.

You’re welcome back anytime—with a functional console and respect. But if you’re just looking for someone to argue with, we’re not interested in the sequel.

Fantastic experience: This store is amazing!! Out of town every time I come i find something I have to take home !

Tony Bork Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with my experience at Game Crazy. As someone who genuinely loves retro gaming and was excited to support a local shop, I never expected to be treated with such disrespect. All I did was ask to speak with management about a concern—and instead of helping or listening, they blocked me. That’s not just bad customer service—that’s a clear message that they don’t value the people who support their business. Game Crazy, you’ve just lost a customer. I’ll be taking my support to places that treat their community with respect and professionalism.

Game Craze

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience—though, to be honest, we’re a bit puzzled. None of our management team recalls this interaction, and we don’t recognize your face from the photo attached. Also, our name’s not Game Crazy, though we are crazy about games.

That said, we take all concerns seriously—especially when they’re brought to us directly. Blocking customers isn’t something we do, and it doesn’t reflect how we do things. If there was a miscommunication, we’d like to review the details properly. Feel free to call the store or send us an email ([email protected]) with the date and approximate time so we can check footage and figure out what happened. Right now, we’re trying to review the play, but we’re missing key parts of the tape.

We believe respect is mutual. When something’s unclear, we don’t point fingers—we ask questions, we listen, and we investigate. If this was a slip on our part, we’ll own it. If not, we’ll still walk away with clarity.

Fantastic experience: These guys are awesome they know gaming and are fair with their pricing. If you're looking for some retro stuff they'll definitely have a lot of what you're looking for including consoles games accessories and a really cool aesthetic and vibe in the store. The owner is awesome and super nice. I sold a couple things there and I got a really good price for them. It was so hard to choose what to get with my credit, must've in there for about 40 minutes easy. Tl;Dr, good prices, kind staff and tons of choices!

Negative experience: I've been going to game craze for roughly about 2 years now and their new staff and their attitude is absolutely terrible. I cannot stand it. The girl with a very short hair is absolutely rude. In short, with the customers and same with the kid with the pimples. All over his face. He is so rude. It's not funny. I'm seriously thinking about going to a new business anywhere else anymore. Because I cannot stand the new employees Attitude year 2 years It was absolutely great and now their attitudes Are the worst?I don't even want to come to the store anymore

Negative experience: Be careful about brasso left over in their more expensive NES carts. Brasso is indeed a valid way to clean pins, as they seemingly can’t help themselves but make known. However, you need to do it right. Leaving cakes of brasso inside your carts because you don’t disassemble them and clean them is not the correct way. No need to hold onto those Nintendo Powers for me anymore, I won’t be back.

Negative experience: I went to this game store with my son the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday 2024). We went there to trade in some games and take advantage of their promotions that day. We were the first customers of the day and were greeted by an employee. I said good morning and explained the reason for our visit. The employee then seemed annoyed that we wanted to trade in games, muttering under his breath, “Today is supposed to be a day for buying.” I placed the box of games on the counter, and as he walked away, he rudely said, “You know what to do.” I asked the employee if he wanted me to come back another time, and he replied, “I don’t give a damn what you do.” At that point, I told my son to go to the car while I stayed behind to speak with the owner. When I explained what had happened, the disgruntled employee claimed I was lying. I told the owner to check the security footage as proof of the incident. As I was leaving, the employee gave me the middle finger. I have been a loyal customer of this shop for the past few years, spending thousands of dollars on purchases and trades. However, I will never return due to the disrespectful treatment I received and the owner’s lack of action in addressing the situation.

Game Craze

Hi Luis,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I never disagree with a customer’s experience, I take all concerns seriously and will 100% review the footage from the day in question to better understand what happened and address the situation appropriately.

Personally, as a woman who owns this small business, I was unfortunately not present on Black Friday. However, I will be addressing this matter with all management and staff who were working that day to ensure the situation is resolved appropriately.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you. Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] with more details so I can assist further.

Your feedback helps us grow and improve, and I truly appreciate you bringing this to my attention.

Fantastic experience: A huge selection of games, anyone who wants some nostalgia needs to come here! Owner is a little quiet but he knows what he's got, he worked with me for a discount on some damage to a Gameboy advance so that was nice.

Positive experience: Overall the store was nice and had much to offer but I was interested in the ps5/xsx games which they had behind the counter and I couldn't really see what they had. I know if I asked for a certain game they would've helped me out but I like to see the games for myself. So that's why it was 3 stars for me

Negative experience: Spent a little over 100$’s last week at game craze. One of my purchases was an Xbox 360 controller for 30$. The A button wasn’t working properly and the spring where the battery pack is it is rusted. my wife went to get the controller switched out for me because they give you a 30 day warranty. They were rude to my wife and would not replace the controller. You would think spending a decent amount of money they would try to accommodate the customer but that wasn’t case here.

Game Craze

Hi Bill thanks for the quick 1 star without letting us take care of the problem. First off we would gladly swap the controller out if that was needed. Your wife said the a button was sticking and we cleaned and fixed the button. As far as the internal spring it does have a little discoloration to it but it is working 100% with the battery pack so that isn't affecting the controller nor can you even see it unless it is opened up. Like we told her if it has any other issues to bring it in and we would be happy to swap it out under warranty. Why you need to leave a review like this on a controller that works 100% is beyond me. Remember this is a pre owned controller that is over 10 years old. We do have brand new controllers for your Xbox 360 as well that we could put the credit towards if you didn't want pre owned. Your wife never said anything and you never called or asked for an exchange so I'm confused why you are trying to solve this on google???

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience shopping here today. Everything was competitively priced. I purchased a few games from modern to retro consoles and was happy with the deals I got. There is so much to see and the store is set up wonderfully. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made me feel super welcome. I really enjoyed my time in this store and I can't wait for my next visit!

Jessie Sansing Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I stop in here once in a while and pick up a game, I live in the neighborhood. I have traded things and sold things. Always feel like it's a fair swap. I feel so much better stopping here than Gamestop. The people that work here have always been friendly whether I'm buying, or asking the differences between certain consoles I wasn't aware of. Always accommodating.
