Negative experience: (Original review) Lines are constantly held up by unnecessary sales pitches trying to get people to buy warranties for games that don’t need them and pro memberships that aren’t worth it. Really have never left this location satisfied before. EDIT (7/28/25): Ten billion Funko POPs and 0 games EDIT (2/12/26): If I say no to a pro membership it’s because I mean it. I know the benefits, and they are not worth the upfront cost to me. Respect that, and stop trying to convince me I’m using my own money wrong. EDIT (4/10/26): This location never has pre-orders in-stock on release day, Best Buy is ten times better for this.
Negative experience: I got corded one place on a device which was $42 I go back I get quoted another price for $11 I have cancer I'm trying to get my prescription and they don't want to help you at all they don't go by their word they don't do anything

Fantastic experience: Very helpful group of people bought a preowned PS5 and the remote had stick drift and the helped me get a new remote. At almost no cost and without using my warranty.
Negative experience: horrible customer service. stood in like for 20 min while they were dealing with a customer. no big deal with that but as soon as they were finished, they decided to take another 10 minutes standing at the counter while not checking me out. another employee came and checked out someone who was waiting to purchase pokémon cards and as soon as that employee was done with that, he walked off also.
Fantastic experience: Sebastian was awesome! Coming from somebody who works in customer service, I understand how much it takes to be able to provide consistent 10/10 service in a store like this. Sebastian went even as far as offering to help me aquire an old console charger that I was hunting down. You don't get a Sebastian every single day, and I will definitely be a regular customer due to his service!

Negative experience: Was told I needed to buy a $25 pro membership to buy a $20 item. I asked if I could just order it online and she said no and would cancel the order if I did. Needless to say this store will never get any of my business
Positive experience: I stopped by this GameStop last night with one simple goal: pick up a copy of Mario Party Superstars for an upcoming Friendsgiving event. When I went to check out, the cashier repeatedly tried to push a GameStop Pro membership on me. I get it, he might be required to pitch it or earn something from signing people up, but after I politely declined the first time, the pressure continued. It made the checkout experience more uncomfortable than it needed to be. For context, I’m primarily a PC gamer and usually buy my games digitally through platforms like G2A and other online vendors that offer better value and convenience than GameStop. I just wanted a straightforward purchase, but the constant upselling left a sour impression. Likely won’t return to this location.
Fantastic experience: The employees are cool and I enjoy coming here but they need a bigger store and additional employees. The wait time is long because of the size of the store and limited employee on staff. I wish they had more floor place and employee to accommodate for the foot traffic they see daily

Positive experience: I went in there for a game got the game but the cashier there was a little pushy about renewing people's memberships I told him no but he kept pushing it until the manager came out when the manager came out he told the employee not to push something that a customer is always right and not to push him on something he didn't need she's trying to get a sale for his quota for the day and some people are on a limited income and I can't afford things like that

Negative experience: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER BIGGEST SCAM OUT IN MADISON.i stood outside in line for 40MIN to get a new set of Pokemon cards WHICH I HAVE DONE BEFORE and for some reason this morning when I got to the counter I was either forced to sign up for an account which again is $25 or get denied a purchase. I have used GameStop for years and this has never been I problem this GameStop and the manager are a joke and need to find a different job before they hurt the business. NO ONE SHOULD HALF TO SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP TO BUY ANYTHING especially at no GameStop terrible employees

Negative experience: I made it inside the store by 8:50. There were two people in front of me. I had the steam gift card in my hand. She was ringing up the 2 people in front of me. 9pm comes around. She asked me what I was buying. I said a steam gift card. She said "sorry my register closed and I can't checkout you out". Even though she was checking out the two people in front of me. I don't think I will becoming to this store again. I will be taking my business somewhere else. I play on pc mainly and my gamestop days might be done tbh
Negative experience: Editing to add again: In addition to the terrible Switch 2 launch, I had pre-ordered a game that was set to launch along side the Switch 2. It didn't come in during the launch event on the 4th, which was fine, but it ALSO was not ready or available when I tried to pick it up throughout the day on the 5th when the game was meant to release! What is the point of preordering?! I ended up giving up on my pre-order and went to Target, where they had MULTIPLE in stock just sitting on the shelf for people to pick up. Get it together GameStop! Came to this GameStop for a console launch, and it was very poorly managed. Waited outside in 86 degree heat for over 5 hours after being told we'd only have to wait until 2 for queue tickets, which didn't come out until around 2:30. Then didn't get to pay for the console until 5:00 when payment opened up at 5. Came back at 11 to pick up my paid for console and they allowed people to cut the line of customers who've been waiting all day to make on the spot purchases. Incredibly disrespectful and honestly dangerous given the conditions outside, and they weren't calling people inside for payments! Editing to add, the staff are typically very kind and helpful. This midnight launch just could've been handled much better.
Negative experience: Here for the switch 2 launch. Handled absolutely terribly. A logistic nightmare. The staff is giving different answers to the same question. Other gamestops did not have this issue. Will not be using this GameStop again.
Negative experience: Came for a console launch and it was managed poorly. Waited for 70 minutes to pickup something I preordered and they let people just skip the line over people who’ve been in line all day. Absolutely unacceptable. I’ve worked retail product launches including the Xbox 360 for this company and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a product launch.
Fantastic experience: The best Gamestop Store on earth, Gary is amazing at what he does, helps save you the most money and stretches your dollar better than Walmart. Saved about 40 dollars with his help. God Bless this man!
Positive experience: You know. I love GameStop. And this store is really good with the GM and everything. But when I went in today, and just wanted to go in and out with a new headset. I wanted it to be super quick…. I was literally the second in line and the sweet girl at the cash register was just chatting her heart away about movies and card and punkos I’m not even sure if the gentleman was buying anything because she didn’t do the normal routine. But it was irritating me immensely and finally another work jumped on a register. But come on do me a favor GameStop and I love that you talk with your customers but don’t make others wait when they aren’t doing a transaction and talk about tv shows…..

Receiving aggressive sales pitches for their various warranties and premium accounts that never end when telling the employee no even if saying it multiple times. Decent selection. Poor customer service. If you must shop at GameStop, I recommend ordering online.

Negative experience: The worker was as nice as she could be, I went to sell my ps5 do to the fact I just don’t have time to play it, I know I’m not gonna get all my money back on it but I’m also not gonna give it away. They had one with less memory than mine for 469 and they tried to give me 160 for mine that looked 10x better than the one in the case. But they did try to offer me useless in store credit

Fantastic experience: Great experience at this store! I went in asking for a product that was about to be released after being completely blown off by other stores. Gary, however, did some research and found that inventory was coming in, but didn't know when. He took down my info and told me he'd give me a call as soon as they arrived. And ya know what - he did!!! It's especially awesome as this now-released product isn't available anywhere and going for more than twice MSRP on auction websites. He also told me about some active discounts on the Pro membership, so I was able to renew on the cheap. Awesome service, awesome store, and I'll drive past those other stores just to come to this one in the future.
Negative experience: Customer service is prejudice against non pro members. An employee saw me looking for newly released action figures while he was stocking the shelf, and he hastily picked up 3 boxes of the latest popular release and took them to the back. I'm glad another customer saw, and commented how suspicious it was

Fantastic experience: Came here to do some trade ins. Perfect time with the 50%boost week. After going back and forth on what to buy and conversing with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable employees Andre and Cassie that work there. Was able to find a game I'm excited about , learned about new ones coming soon and left super happy. Thanks y'all I'll be coming back here Everytime.
Fantastic experience: My son loves this store, and their warranty for games are insanely good. Always have what we are looking for, and the staff is always kind and knowledgeable
Negative experience: Christian was terrible. Went in to buy a new Xbox. Acted like it was a problem that I had a few questions. Went to Best Buy and got what I needed.
Negative experience: Should probably take down for sale signs if they’re not actually for sale instead of arguing with customers. Also you should put a sign up saying you can’t take card or enter in manually Customer service wasn’t good either.

Positive experience: This GameStop is alright. Very small, especially considering it's embedded into the side of a (frankly amazing!) Party City. The stock is nothing special, but their Transformers stock is particularly rough. It's also a little insulting that their Funko Pop! stock is so large as well! Not really a big deal to me, but the irony is at least amusing. Not the best GameStop ever, but... it's alright.
Negative experience: Clean location, and a variety of products to see. But the customer service overall is terrible. I am currently in a campaign to regain lost powerup points. If it were simply an issue of 1000 or so points is one thing. But I have lost over 350,000 points from an account i had been building since early college nearly 10 years ago and being told that simply well we know we didn't email you to tell you about your account expiring but it did and all those points are now gone. But if you want to renew feel welcome to but you will start at 0 points. Gamestop truly does the bare minimum these days and it is easy to see why they have to keep restructuring every other year. I have been coming to this location for years but now one would be better off shopping at Amazon or Walmart as at least their CS tries to make things right.
Positive experience: No Gary or Terry… whatever your name was. I don’t have a membership account at a store I rarely shop at. I’m sorry that ruins your day. My man was very rude and on a high horse about me not having an account . Also, he sold my little brother a faulty game and wouldn’t let him return because… you guessed it my little brother didn’t have an account. Still gets a 4/5 because I used to love visiting this store as a kid, and the women who work here are super nice and cool. It’s just Gary

Negative experience: Called the store to make sure they had Skyrim on PS4, and the game advisor told me he had plenty. I drove there immediately, and they only had one copy. However, it was the VR version that wouldn't work. INEPT customer service.

Negative experience: According to the website, the store hours are supposed to be 11A-9P. However, when my husband and I tried to stop by at 8:10PM on a Wednesday night, the store was closed. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: Gary F. Sold us two faulty PS5 controllers in a row and upon having to come back to return each one each time he was extremely passive aggressive in accusing us that we were trying to commit some kind of fraud. It's not our fault that gamestop and Gary F. Sold us faulty products. It was unprofessional and unpleasant and Gary dosent know that he's wrong. Gary didn't test the first controler upon purchase and it didn't seem to work in almost any capacity. We returned it and gary did test the replacement and it passed. Within 20 minutes we had to bring it back because it had left srick drift and we even took a video of it failing in a gamepad tester. Upon returning Gary gave us the same accusing attitude although he just unknowingly sold us a faulty prodct again. The third controller we simply decided to get new and pay extra so we wouldn't have to deal with Gary and get what we originally came for. I blame him for not checking the first controler upon selling it. It would have been obvious it was busted. I don't blame him for the second faulty controler because he did test it although very briefly. Upon returning it and testing it and it failing on his gamepad tester he said in an accusing tone "Well it worked before I sold it to you." Yes Gary it worked for the 5 seconds that you tested it. But that left stick drift happens sometimes and it happening at all warrants a return. I work tech support for apple and customer service and with Gary's attitude he's not qualified to work either. Accusing customers even if you think they are wrong is a basic fundamental of what not to do. Because in this case Gary was wrong and so he just created an unpleasant experience all around. The only reason I held my tongue in store was for the sake of the new employee that he was training and I didn't want to make them uncomfortable by making a scene over Gary's poor attitude.
Fantastic experience: Brandon was SUPER friendly and helpful when I brought in a defective PS5 controller. Got me a new one with no trouble whatsoever. Definitely recommend and appreciate him!!
Negative experience: Guy was very friendly but when I say no to signing up for reward program I mean no. He asked 3 times and I politely said no 3 times and he still signed me up. Had to call 800 number to get it straightened out after leaving.
Positive experience: Sad to see these stores slowly lose steam but I can tell you one thing. GameStop will not go down without a fight. Really great items in store if your a collector of anything pop culture modern. Hope this location keeps it up!

Ok here's why,me and my lady go In to order a game for her son for his birthday,they order it say it will be at the house by Friday at the latest,we'll it don't make it. We call nobody knows anything, nor can they find where it was ordered. We go to the store, the young man there says "we will refund your money to a gift card only".wrong answer. We payed you with a credit card put it back on the card. No we can't do that I ask the manager. Ok. Well he says manager wasn't any help so it's either the gift card or nothing. Nope that won't wrk now its my turn. So game stop look for me im coming and I ain't happy. You got my money and my game that we payed for I will have one or the other. Have a good day doing nothing for your CUSTOMERS!!!!!! One more thing you were not worth one star but had no choice in the matter.

Fantastic experience: This GameStop used to be my go to location, the one in Jone’s Valley is my favorite now since they moved into a bigger location, but this store is still my second favorite to go to. They have a good selection of games here despite the small size. I got the new Hot Wheels Unleashed game half off on Black Friday without any issues so I’m happy with shopping here.

Fantastic experience: Not my normal Gamestop but plenty good. Gamestops used to be great. And then they weren't so great...but recently they seem to have really started to focus on customers again. They may not be the way you want to buy games anymore, especially since digital is so much easier, but if you need hardware or if you are a toy collector like me, they should definitely be on your toy run. I ALWAYS find Black Series figures at their stores, and not just peg warmers.
