4 months ago Experiencia negativa: I made a purchase bout 2 or 3 weeks ago and I emailed them any updates and they never responded back to me. Ripped me off. I read the reviews after I made a purchase I should've listened to the other low reviews. They were spot on. UPDATE: They did end up refunding me but will likely avoiding this place and be a last resort to shop at. Had to write this review to get a response for anyone who has an issue. I'm not waiting months or years for just one game.

We have also been managing a higher-than-normal order volume following the holiday season, which contributed to some delays.

5 months ago Experiencia negativa: WOW look at reviews!!!! We also have a Mario 3DS with them for 2 years of excuses. Cant find parts! I am going tomorrow to ask for it back. Wish me luck. Should I call police if they dont give it back? And show police all the "stolen" reviews? I am very concerned about our Mario 3DS now..... I will be filing a police report if they do not give it back. Still have not gotten it back!!! They are kind to my husband when he goes in and asks about it... but we still do no have it back!! 8 months ago Experiencia fantástica: Video game depot is a place where any generation of players can go to and enjoy a nostalgic, relaxing experience. From the NES system, Atari, all the way up to the Switch 2 and Xbox X. The owners who run the store are always friendly, charismatic, and very professional and they are very understanding and helpful in various ways. My wife and I usually go in when we can. When we do, it’s always a good time. Highly recommend Video Game Depot if you are looking for the childhood classic or looking to pre-order a video game, their discounts never disappoint. Especially if you a new member!

9 months ago Experiencia positiva: Called multiple days In a row as it is across town for me. Asking if they purchase games and controllers, accessories and every day we have gotten there shortly after calling and sometimes a few hours later and every time we get there and then he says he's no longer buying items that day. So we have wasted lur time and gas multiple times just to get all the way there and be turned away. Starting to feel like we were "tricked" into coming there in his hopes of getting business otherwise. Been a big waste of time and gas otherwise. So if you're looking to buy items it's got good prices but if you're looking to sell it's a toss up. Been open for business for 35 years.

9 months ago Experiencia fantástica: Came by here while checking out the Organic Oasis restaurant next door which I also highly recommend for great organic food with a lot of vegan options. This depot has a lot of retro and new video games and miscellaneous sets like dj hero for ps3 and other toys and candy products that you would find at GameStop if you are a gamer or any kind of techie you should check this place out they also have a 10% discount on your first order if you join their rewards program and you can wait to use it for a later date if you plan to make a bigger purchase but there is a 30 day limit.

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: This place! I brought my brothers PS2 in to be repaired and was told it would take a few weeks. Now almost a year later they still have his console. This is insanity. Straight theft! I can’t get any answers, I keep getting the run around and no one will take responsibility! If you can’t fix it then say that and RETURN the console, if you can, then do it and then RETURN the console. What should have been a simple transaction has now turned into a business stealing from me. What is going on here?

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: It's been 11 months and we still have not received our ps2 back. Abhorrent customer service. When you walk in they will just say "parts haven't come in try next friday". Seems like it's not just us.

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: This place has stolen my ps3. I’ve called multiple times and asked what is happening with my ps3. The store workers do not know what is going on with my ps3 and tell me that someone else will call me back with an update. I brought my ps3 here to get fixed in February. At this point I don’t even want it fixed, I just want it back. Update about two years later, they gave me a number to call and every time I call the number they don’t answer or it goes straight to voicemail. I gave up on trying to get my ps3 back and they just straight up robbed me. I don’t get why they took it to another shop when they could’ve told me to take it there myself. Y’all are doing wrong here, stealing people’s game consoles and saying that yeti has them when I took it to this shop to repair it.

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: Dropped my brother’s consoles off for repair back in 2021 so I can play them and have some bit of nostalgia after he passed away. Over the next two years I proceeded to hound them about getting my consoles back with excuses of “the parts haven’t come in yet” and “I haven’t had the chance to look at them”. After I moved out of state, I stopped trying to contact them. It’s been 3 years and still nothing. Do NOT give your consoles to them for repair.

2 years ago Experiencia negativa: Took my daughter’s switch to be fixed at the end of December 2023. It is now the middle of May 2024 and we still do not have it back. We have texted Yeti’s repair tech line regularly, all with answers of ‘it’ll be done x day’ and then nothing. The latest one was that it would be ready this past Sunday. Nothing. I’m beginning to think it’s being held so they can claim possession for resale. The communication definitely needs improvement. Half a year almost for them to fix something they said would only take a few weeks. Highly disappointing and will not recommend in the future.

2 years ago Experiencia negativa: I dropped my ps5 off here to be fixed about 3 months ago and have not heard anything back. The staff here were very nice and helpful but when going back to the store to get an update on how long it’s going to take to get my console back they always say 2-3 days and it’s been months. I would appreciate more accurate estimates on how long it’s going to take to get my console back

We do ask that you also speak with them, their texting line is 907-727-TECH (8324), since we do not do the repairs, and are a drop off location for them. If you have your ticket number we would be able to help track down the repair with you, according to our records for drop offs the only customer matching your display name and repair that was dropped off in the last 6 months was dropped off 03/16/2024 which is within the normally estimated 4-8 week turnaround they quote customers.

2 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I pretty much buy only from Video Game Depot, unless I can't. I've gone to the owner looking for consoles and games of all kinds. I've be overwhelmed with the help given to me. I tell him all the time I prefer to buy from here before I go anywhere else. This place gets the gaming community, and gives back so much. Sadly its not the same way around I think. I find the humor is good and their very knowledgeable about game and consoles. I've bought a fair amount of things from here, and I'm glad to say never had to bring anything back. But am alway reminded if there's something wrong bring it in, it'll get fixed, repair, replaced or worse case refunded. I mean I was looking for one game that was sold out everywhere but the manufacturers of the game. But he called six business, checked on if anyone was gonna get extra copies and even looked into buying one from the main site when they show it as being out of stock. So go down there, and show Video Game Depot some love. They have a great staff and are always doing there best to provide for you the gamer. They also have a good grade reward system and are pretty understandable when working with you on items.

2 years ago Experiencia negativa: Still waiting for my Xbox, got the HDMI port replaced there almost a year ago and still haven’t gotten it back. Excuse after excuse after excuse after excuse. I’ve paid $150 just to have them do the replacement and claim it. Like all I want for Christmas is my Xbox back.

2 years ago Experiencia negativa: a horrible place to recommend getting anything repaired. It's been 4 months and still counting since I last dropped off two xbox controllers for repair. Made several calls in the past and always the same response: "You have to call the repair shop # on the receipt."/"we'll call you on Friday for an update." I have called and texted several times. No response or follow-up at all. Thieves when it comes to 'repairs'. I'm sure this store will give me a sad reply of: "Just keep calling the repair shop since we don't do repairs ourselves." Don't go here for repairs.

3 years ago Experiencia negativa: I’ve been inside of this store probably 7 times now. 4 of those times was back to back, checking to see if my online order for a game came in when the guy told me that he would get it in 1 hour of being ordered. It took 4 days for him to go to his warehouse and get the game. As for the prices, everything is 50%-100% more than going market rates you’d find on eBay and local. For games themselves, you can likely find something you’re looking for but you will be overpaying for it on average. For game Accessories, don’t bother. If you want controllers, the store refuses to sell you any controllers except their junk third party controllers that they have a partnership with, this “Nu Wave Armor 3” controller brand that’s complete garbage. All their first party controllers are bundled with buying a console (which is also overpriced). The only time they’ll sell you first party controllers is if they’re for a somewhat old/rare controller with a jacked up price. Dude tried passing off a sealed controller with a MANGLED box for $300. Very funny. This place is not very useful and you can get a better deal on local, eBay, or Ian’s Game Paradise. At least Ian’s will actually sell you first party accessories. 2 stars because at least there’s an alright collection of games there, but I still don’t recommend them at all.

Our prices are based on several factors, the two main ones being going rate and the condition the product is in. We also check each game/console/accessory and do any necessary repairs so you are also paying for a warranty when you shop with us. Elite members get discounts on pre-used items and enjoy other perks like coupons and birthday gift cards.
As for the controllers, they are hard to keep in stock. We place weekly orders for them and are usually sold out within a day of receiving the shipment. You could take advantage of our will-call order list if you would like.
We do understand you’re not happy with your experience, but if you ever want to give us another chance, you are more than welcome to return.

Including a silent hill 4 and he was very rude about all of it so unfortunately they lost my business and will not be returning.
We do apologize, as we previously stated we are sorry you feel this way, but with the vast amount of games that we carry and supply, we frequently run into overstock issues, and can not purchase merchandise that falls into that category at that time. 3 years ago Experiencia negativa: Had a Nintendo 3ds with a broken A button dropped off late March. I was told its finished waiting to be brought out of the warehouse since April and don't get confirmed the parts it needed were ordered on May 9th and its finally to be expected to be repaired by May 13th Its May 18th now and there's still no word. I got it as a gift years ago so I can get old 64 titles I grew up with avaliable on it, which is now on a deadline to get as Nintendo is starting to phase out payment options to retire the old system. Consider finding another repair company, even if you need to send whatever your getting fixed to another state as whenever your system is returned it might not be supported anymore Final edit: System was finally returned for my cousin to pick up Augest 27, and the Nintendo store went under maintenance before the necessary updates were able to take and a new memory card was able to replace the one that seems to have been lost during maintenance. Video Game Depot was nice enough to give it back button repaired free of charge over the excessive wait, but now that depositing funds isn't supported I lost a $350 value unless I can find a way to get usable funds in somehow to pay for the online store only exclusives

3 years ago Experiencia negativa: My experience here was pretty negative: A) I brought in 62 games, it took them 3 hours to go through the box. They kept helping others with trade ins before finishing mine. B) The person doing it was obviously new, struggling and the 2 other employees in the back did little to help him, occasionally criticizing him but not actually doing anything to make the process go faster. C) They claimed a stack of 10-15 ps3 games were “damaged beyond repair” pointing to near invisible marks on the discs. They took them anyways though? D) I ended up getting $94 in store credit which felt low? Maybe I just had high expectations. Overall just a bad time honestly.

3 years ago Experiencia negativa: Waste of time - Dropped off a PS3 controller to be repair on March 2nd, 2022. As of July 27th, 2022 I have yet to get it back. Stopped in several times asking. Initially said it would only take a month. A month went by - No phone call. Stopped in again to follow up - Said they would call and let me know. Still never received a phone call. Another month went back. Stopped by in person again - They said some shelves have fallen blocking access to my controller no timeline on when they could get access to my controller. Offer to help clean their fallen shelves just so I can get my controller back. Told no customers are allowed at this special warehouse. Okay when can I get my controller back? Don't know. No phone call. Checked my cell phone call logs they only called once on July 8th to let me know they finally got through the fallen shelves only to find out my controller wasn't found. No timeline or knowledge of where my controller is.

4 years ago Experiencia negativa: Beyond perplexed. Worst experience with any business of any sort. I’d rather spend an afternoon at the DMV than deal with this outfit again. I dropped off an Xbox for repairs at the end of November 2020. I was in the process of moving out of state. I was told it would be a two week fix and, should I be gone, shipping it would not be a problem. I followed up a month later, no update. I was told I would receive a call the next day. No call came. I followed up another month (or so) later. Same thing. I was told to expect a call. No call came. Another month. Another promised phone call. Nothing. It has been damn near a year and I have not received an update or a phone call, let alone my Xbox returned. I’m mostly leaving this review hoping someone other than the single person I’ve been able to get on the phone sees this. Completely outrageous.

They had to make a lot of changes due to covid and everything, but its still worth it to go. They have a great selection of game (both older and newer). I had thr great opportunity to speak with the owner son (sorry I forget his name). He is very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions. 5 years ago Experiencia fantástica: Great selection and prices. The owner is super nice and incredibly knowledge about gaming- including console repair. One stop shop for retro to new releases. I can't wait until the pandemic is over and I can just browse the store for hours. Until then, I'll just keep using the web storefront- still great to browse all the titles and consoles virtually.

If he isn't busy, he will have no problem talking to you about up coming new games you might like, and suggesting games he already has if you want to try something out. I always go to him first when I want something or having problems with a console.

5 years ago Experiencia fantástica: Hands down THE coolest place for anything gaming. Getting to see the retro consoles of yesteryear really brought back memories. Decently priced, super cool staff and willing to go above and beyond to find anything you want, old and new. You guys have a customer for life.
