Experiencia negativa: Went in to buy a headset. Was told a headset wasn't compatible with the system it was intended. Yet the box says so. Anyway bought a (brand new) headset. It didn't have the original box inside the box that usually comes with it and had a different kind of paper that typically comes with it.
Experiencia fantástica: We love this Gamestop. We just went the day after Christmas 2025 and I had called ahead because my son wanted some animae shirts. She was friendly and went over and looked for his size and told us what they had there. We bought several shirts, etc and she answered all questions . We love this GameStop and go there often. I also do the rewards , so that was a little discount.

Experiencia negativa: I went in looking for some games I might want, and yall know, most Gamestops are tiny. Anyways, I saw a couple games, and was gonna go in the corner yo see if they had some more edge controller joysticks, then this long haired employee, who has been sniffling the whole 5 minutes I've been in there, sneezes 3 times all over the backside and in the corner I want to look in. Didn't even try to cover his mouth, just snot all over the xbox games and the playstation stuff in the corner. So I just left, and there was actually some stuff I wanted. But I'd rather not be afflicted with whatever sickness that guy had.

Experiencia negativa: Man, with it being the only GameStop left in Waco (they picked the worst one to keep open by the way, they absolutely should have kept the Wooded Acres location), they sure don’t seem to give organization, communication or effort a shot in an attempt to be anywhere near the best. I’ve so far been to 2 “major release” (one for the Nintendo Switch 2, the other for Pokemon cards which, in all fairness, I got caught up in… I was there for something unrelated). The 1 or 2 (if you’re lucky) staff that are working are in no hurry to get their line moving, often leaving their clients with little to no info on what’s going on. The staff further hold up their line with trying to upsell unrelated things like a pro membership (which is useless) or even a “warranty” (because how were you going to personally replace my switch 2 if it was defected, but you’re limited quantity… but okay ). I’ve read “horror stories” of GameStop underpaying their employees which, judging by the last 2 visits is quite evident in the fact that there are no more than 1 or 2 employees working on big release days. GameStop was once a high profile game store for the community to look forward to going to on big release days, and it’s sadly sunk into a joke of a store. For anyone looking for a reputable game store, absolutely go check out Special FX Video Game Exchange in Richland Mall. It’s locally owned and the staff are very very friendly!

It was perfect. They had a great selection and the price was less than I expected. He picked up 2 games that kept him busy all weekend when he wasn't fishing . The gentleman working was knowledgeable and engaging.

Experiencia positiva: Stopped in on the Wednesday before Christmas around 2pm. We were told they close in 5 minutes. Didn't see a sign posted about the hours. The guy never smiled and was short and cold. We bought Christmas presents but would have spent more. He made us feel like we were bothering him. Glad the other businesses in the area were not like that. Merry Christmas!

I hadn't recieve the email yet stating my order was ready, but me and my son were out running errands and stopped to see if we could pick up the controller. The person was able to help us and we were able to pick up our order. He was happy to help us, and I appreciate his kindness.

This review is left as a straw that broke the camels back type of vent - what finally drove me to leave a 1 star review is that I had pre-ordered the newest pokémon game and upon placing said order had asked about bonus offers at the store level, they let me know it included an enamel pin set. Wonderful! Other businesses had pre-order bonus too but I like pins. However on day of pickup I was told supply had run out. Well... Why is that? They knew how many copies of the game were pre-ordered at that location, no? I paid them for the deal that included the pins, but I didn't receive the pins. I know they're a free add on, but it is still part of the purchase. I don't get how they could run out if they had a hard count of how many they needed to order. I will not be doing business any longer with this, or any gamestop or affiliated location
Experiencia negativa: The guy was absolutely no help, he didn't greet us and we were the only people in there, he was to busy playing on his for and listening to music or whatever. We asked him if they had what we were looking for and he bashed his own store and website. Unprofessional won't be going to that location again (Centeral Texas Marketplace). Don't know the guys name but he was the only worker there at 11:30am on October 18th, 2022 to help narrow down who it might've been.

Experiencia negativa: I called to ask a few simple questions and one of the employees James answered and was very thorough but in a rude way on purpose I am a petite woman who has a very soft spoken high pitch voice so I sound young, when I asked him about selling items to their store he interrupted me and said you need a valid ID and you need to be at least 18 years of age okay, so I just said okay thank you and he said okay yeah scoffs and says have a good one very rudely or just plain doesn’t want to be there or doesn’t like his job or maybe angry? Either way he was very rude. Again his name is James.
Experiencia negativa: I went in to sell my PS4. I had to also sell them my HDMI cable as well. They wouldn't buy my PS4 without the HDMI cable even though a new PS4 doesn't come with the cable. Since I didn't bring the cable with me, I had to go back home and get it. During the inspection, they classified my controller as defective because one of the caps came loose from the analog sticks. This significantly lowered the amount I got for my PS4. I received less than a $100 for it even though the website said I should get more than $100 cash for my PS4. I'm posting this so others will know what to expect.

Maybe they should put up a sign saying that not wait til you get to the counter and say we don't have any. Now I have a kid who is upset and they don't care. So this is my last trip to game stop.
Experiencia negativa: The worst customer service. Walked in, worker was right by the front door. Never said a word to us. Never asked what we were shopping for, nothing. Had an EXTREMELY limited selection. Went to leave and the worker STILL didnt say a word! Wont be returning to this location.

Experiencia negativa: I've called this location multiple times on different occasions, and unfortunately my experience has been Terrible. I've had questions about the release and availability of the PS5 and XBOX series X. I called time after time again and received no answer on the telephone it rings and rings no answer....It seems if they see the same phone number calling they will take the phone off the hook so it doesn't ring. Terrible customer service when we cant even get information over the phone. The 1 and only time I went into the store the customer service rep was rude and didn't say hi or nothing ! Management please correct this issue at your store please or I'm sure you will lose business ! Loyal Customer

Matt is a good guy and always helps me out with what I need. This GameStop is also good because it has variety from old to new console games which not everyone of them has. Also the figures and accessories are great here.

Experiencia positiva: We ordered a game online to pick up at store next day. 2 days later it still wasn’t there. They had a copy but asked us to cancel our online order and pay again at the store. Very inconvenient for the customer and not the way I’d do business. Next day is next day, plus we drove an hour to get it. They should have given us that copy and replaced their inventory with the incoming game when it arrived. To be fair that could be game stop policy and not the store. Why four stars instead of 1 or 2? Because they held that copy until near closing without prepayment even when the whole town had sold out of that game and they could have sold it. So thanks for holding it that long!

Experiencia positiva: Kind of reminds me of a pawnshop, except for video games. It's a small location, kind of hard to walk through with all of the things they have set up and when they're busy. Staff always seem like they want to help you, any question I've had they answered it with the best they could. I was looking for a game for my son, and the lady working the counter looked it up for me to save me the hassle of searching through all of the games, and even checked other locations for a copy.

Experiencia negativa: Brought in about 50 or so games to trade off since I no longer owned an Xbox, Xbox 360, or a PS2 and the assistant manager (who was pretty rude to both I and my girlfriend) told us he could take 2 games out of the huge stack we brought in because the rest were either “to old or to damaged”. We left after trading those 2 games and checked the receipt. They had taken a PS2 game and an Xbox original game. Yet there was Fallout New Vegas and Black Ops for the 360 in there and they were “to old or to damaged”. Went up to FX in the mall and the guys were way nicer and took every single one of the games and gave us a surprising amount for every single game we brought! Everyone needs to go to FX!

Experiencia negativa: I've got a very serious issue with this store in particular. Two times in the past two months, I have purchased games from this store that came cracked. The first time, a copy of Forza 4 with the install disk completely cracked from the edge to the center hole of the disk, and the second time a copy of Infamous Second Son with a smaller crack towards the edge of the disk, which was enough to make the game unreadable. The first incident was understandable, it was late at night and the clerk was very visibly stressed, but the second time was during a non-busy weekday which is unforgivable. I have no issue with the staff up here, they seem to be nice people, but come on, seriously? The least you could do is check what the game looks like before you sell it and the customer walks out of the store with damaged merchandise and a poor opinion of the customer service recieved. I will admit, I should have learned from the first time and checked before I left, but when the employee takes the game out of the drawer and transfers it to the case, you think they'd catch something like a crack. This used to be my favorite game store in the area, but from here on out, all my business is going to Game X Change, Special FX, and the GameStop on Lake Air. These other stores at least check the damn games before they sell them and seem to care more about the customer rather than selling a pre-order. Edit- The assistant store manager was extremely helpful and kind. I mentioned that I had issues and he took care of it immediately, replaced my broken game, and mentioned that he was definitely going to talk to whoever didn't inspect the disks.

Experiencia fantástica: When you have teenagers, GameStop is a must-have shopping location for holidays and birthdays. Even us older folks are treated with respect when shopping here. We are not always a hundred percent sure exactly what to purchase working off a wishlist, but the staff are very helpful in making sure you get the right product. They will ask questions such as which version of a game, which console , Etc. They even offer the option of buying a particular game new or used "if available" and do not steer you into the most expensive option. I am sure the younger customers know exactly what they want, but if you're shopping for your child or grandchild, they will take the time to make sure you get the right product. That kind of service goes a long way. When the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 came out last November, my son wanted a copy for his Christmas wish list. I had inquired early November at this location, and they gave me the exact date for release, and informed me that were two versions of the game being released and to find out which version my son was looking for. When I gave them the information they had a copy in stock the day of release. The price was exactly the same as Walmart, but I would have not received the customer service or the technical advice related to my purchase from Walmart. Therefore I give these kids working at this store two thumbs up for five star service. Apparently they treat all their customers young or older with the same dedication. Thank you for making my gift purchases a success every time.
