Experiencia negativa: This used to be a good location, Not anymore. Here’s the problem, Every time you go, there’s a sign on the door that says they’re out to lunch. I kid you not. This has happened on multiple visits. Now I understand that employees have to take a lunch break, but you just can’t shut down the whole store and not have one person working there because it says open on Google Maps. On Google Maps it says that store is open-so you drive Down there, And it’s closed. The thing that especially frustrates me is when I go to visit this location And it’s closed toward the end of closing time. So let’s say if it closes at 10 o’clock on a Saturday they’ll have a lunch break sign toward the end of closing so instead of closing at 10 it closes like earlier. I talked to the manager at this location about this and he was rude and said oh all of the employees have a right to a lunch break. Yes, that’s true but someone needs to be running the store While that person is out to lunch. Many times I see people lining up and then they have to leave Because the store is closed . There was even one time where I saw an employee sleeping under the counter. The GameStop in Cross County shut down. I’m afraid soon this one will too. The glory days are officially over.

Experiencia negativa: Pushy salesmen. Company policies are anti-consumers and anti-employee. The man behind the counter although sassy and pushy in terms of his salesmenship, was nice. But he charged me an extra 17 dollars on insurances and memberships i refused multiple times. My receipt litterally says you saved 11 dollars today, but i could have just saved 17 by not spending it in the first place. Especially since the pro membership is a yearly 25 dollar cost. Its a pain to cancel so thanks for that dude behind the counter who cant take no for an answer.

Experiencia negativa: called to ask if I could pre orde ron the phone, got rude and disgusting attitude over the phone for simply asking questions. I asked if I could pre order over the phone and was responded with a "No" and nothing else, no follow up info or anything. I asked when they're going to close today, the reponse was "We're open right now I'm on the phone with you right?". So I go to pre order a game, the only reason I'm going is bc I want the phsyical disc, not deal with rude people. So I get to the store and ask why was I spoken to like that, and what would be done about it, and the manager was being condescending, dismissive, and actually laughing about the whole entire thing. I don't know why me asking such a simple question would turn into this, what a terrible experience lol they also seemed like the person who was on the phone was there and they were just trying to cover for them. Weird, unprofessional, and strange experience. I literally only go in there to get physical discs for my PS5, that's the only reason, not to deal with rude people that are clearly miserable with themselves

Experiencia negativa: I had a very bad experience at GameStop on Central Avenue in Yonkers which included the following: (1) An employee calling me a liar in front of my special needs son, without any justification or evidence, telling me I ripped the security clip that was holding the hand control in the rack; (2) Fraudulently using someone else’s Pro Member account to reflect my sale on their account (which included my credit card number), a serious incident; and (3) Falsely stating on the sales receipt that I refused a warranty on a hand control, in which the sales associate, Joe, never offered this option at the point of sale (another violation of GameStop policy). If the choice is to drive 5 minutes to the Yonkers location, rather than 20 or more minutes to another location in the Bronx or Westchester (or even Connecticut), you will not regret the longer drive. Refuse to do any business with these people. Furthermore, you will see in my history of Google Reviews that—while I am an infrequent reviewer—I have never given out a 1-star review. Ever. My son and I visited the GameStop on Central Avenue in Yonkers on Sunday, February 15th @ approximately 1:00pm. We went to the back of the store to the hand controls that we were interested in and pulled one down off the rack, in which it appeared to already have a broken package that is supposed to be a securely hold. It turns out that hand control was not compatible with my son’s system. We asked the sales associate, Joe, to unlock another hand control, which he did do. However, when we walked to the front of the store, that is when all the problems started. I attempted to check out and Joe —unprompted by anything that my son or I said—told me flat out that he out charge extra next time if I “lied to” him about breaking the security device on a hand control. I was infuriated by the accusation, and I demanded a discount on the hand control we were purchasing due to the fact he wrongly accused us of something that was done in the store and his hostile attitude. I also asked the manager for a discount on the merchandise, in which he backed the sales associate and refused to accommodate my request. If you can believe it, being accused of lying was not the worst transgression by this sales associate, Joe, during our visit to the Yonkers Central Avenue store. I noticed on our sales receipt that the purchase was not even made under my Pro Member account. The transaction was done under the account of someone named (not full name) “Jo. Torres” with my credit card number (see image below of the wrong Pro Account). I do not know this person. I visited another location after to discuss my bad experience at GameStop’s Yonkers Central Avenue store, and I told the manager some of the details and he stated that using another person’s credit card under another Pro Member’s without permission is a very serious problem that was to be reported to the District Manager. Making a sale in the wrong Pro Account sets the groundwork for the GameStop Yonkers Central Avenue location to deny a possible return in the future. Quote from manager of the other store: “This is not the first time they (the Yonkers Central Avenue store) have done this….it is not second time….and it is not even the fourth time this has happened.” Furthermore, Joe, the sales associate at GameStop’s Yonkers Central Avenue, did not ask me whether I wanted a warranty on the hand control purchased at the point-of-sale, another violation of GameStop policy. However, Joe printed out a sales receipt that falsely stated, “Customer Declined Warranty Coverage” (see image below). All my previous GameStop purchases over the past 5+ years have included a warranty. Fortunately, I had an outstanding experience at another store in the Tri-state area on Sunday and the manager straightened out all the problems created by Joe and his manager at Gamestop’s Central Avenue location in Yonkers. Avoid GameStop on Central Avenue in Yonkers.

Experiencia negativa: Asked for a cooling fan, got the entire base station instead. I opened it to make sure it was the right one and Not even 2 minutes later they said I can’t return it because it was opened. Avoid GameStop and go to micro center for your gaming needs. This is why I haven’t shopped here in years and I regret coming back. Gamestop is not worth it in my opinion.

Experiencia negativa: Skip this location by far the worst game stop experience i have ever had. Friday October 10th at about 6:50pm i visited this location to make a return. The representative lied over an over again stating GameStop stores do not take online returns for a nintendo 2. I knew it was B.S since i have been a pro member since 2010. I stated i went over the return policy and spoke with customer service. The rep assisting me kept disregarding what i said and kept saying his Higher management has instructed him not to take returns. This experience has ended my relationship with GameStop. Since higher management makes up their own rules now. I headed to the cross county location where i was able to return the device and purchase what i wanted.

Multiple people came to the door and turned away. What a shame. Lost out on at least anywhere from 500 to 1000$ within that hour. Experiencia negativa: I’ve had multiple experiences at the GameStop on Central Avenue, and unfortunately, they’ve consistently been disappointing when dealing with John, the store manager. His customer service skills are seriously lacking — unhelpful, dismissive, and at times even rude. It feels like you’re bothering him just by asking a basic question. The only reason I even continue to stop by this location is because of Joseph. He’s professional, friendly, and actually takes the time to help customers. If the store was staffed with more people like him, it would be a much better experience overall. GameStop needs to take a hard look at who they’re putting in charge — because John’s attitude does not reflect good leadership or customer care.

Experiencia negativa: Came in today and unfortunately for me the representative John with long hair who was working that day was having a bad day. He was very rude and dismissive and did not help me all. Everything was short answers and acted as if was bothering him with my questions. I was not the only one, I witnessed him being very rude to the customer ahead of me as well and elderly lady which is very unfortunate. John should be pulled for customer service training as he is not fit to work in his position.

When I went back I was told that the controller “wasn't the one they sold me” and John the “manager”refused to check the barcode that would prove it was. Experiencia negativa: We go in today around 5:30 PM to do a trade in…no one greeted us (my son and spouse) as normal… Joe behind counter not wear his name tag and not well kept or clean… so I go next he yells to customer leaving if he needs his receipt and customer says no…mind you took a while check out four packs of Poke-Mon cards…that being said Joe asks for ID…I show my government if and badge…he seemed upset by this? Ask for id again…I am like…why?? He does not explain and asks again…. Mind you we have been at this store for over ten years….next I am a valid investor in GameStop ..here is the kicker for Joe and his “manager” I am a veteran. There are no signs no notice and not one person has even asked or mentioned I need my DMV to check in trades at game stop… That being said Joey did not like my reaction about GameStop and the. He took as an attack on him? Odd..but not the case so he decided then and there to refuse me service in front of other customers and my family….then he proceeded to be a wise guy saying snarky “Happy New Year” and “Merry Christmas”… Not cool or professional at all….so long and your Joe needs to go…get this place back and have good staff working Mormons who close store to take breaks or show up late….or attitudes and then denied service because I question a policy I knew nothing of and why my information is needed for trades?? Not right.

Experiencia fantástica: I could not be happier. This store is clean, staff is engaging helpful and super friendly. Went laat week and employee blew me away. If I could I would hire him. He dealt with multiple people. Was personal and gave indepth information. He made it seem seamless. Recommend more games including marvel rivals. Wish I would have got hia name but this will be my 1st choice for gaming needs.

I called and someone was answering the phone and using a cartoon voice, I was then transferred to someone who was flat out rude. This store needs to be attended too by corporate or an area manager. Worst GameStop in Westchester. Funny thing cross county is the same. Surprisingly the only good location was in the Bronx, go figure! Do not shop here. P.s. as someone who works in sales, I can see why both locations have now hiring signs. You need to clean house asap GameStop, I will never use these locations and won’t recommend anyone else as well.

Experiencia negativa: I would just like to say this store is very unprofessional and a waste of time I ordered a pair of headphones with my own card and information I also have the email and everything sent to my phone I used Afterpay but accidentally forgot to change my mothers name off the order to mine …. I expressed to the employee that I live in the Bronx and I worked in the same complex and my mother will not be able to come out here I called her on FaceTime so he can see her show her id. And he STILL GAVE ME A HARD TIME AND CANCELED MY ORDER IN MY FACE , I find that extremely difficult and not trying to at least help a customer out if it’s clear as day I’m not scamming or stealing ! I’ve picked up orders for others with no problem I don’t see what was the big deal and I also asked to speak to a manager and he said no and it wouldn’t make a difference cause I was not getting the item I PURCHASED WITH MY HARD EARNED MONEY ! Experiencia negativa: This place profiled, targeted and discriminated against my 13yr old son and myself. Stay away do not visit this location. In addition to my experience below GameStop as a whole, the manager, district manager, corporate office, CEO, don't respond to the complaints and or emails discussing the issue below. All contact has gone ignored. July 10th 2024 My son upon entering this location was told he is not allowed in the store and has to leave because he was alone and needed an adult present. I was across the street in a different store when my son called me to tell me what he was told. I asked my son to put the phone on speaker so I can see what the issue was as this has never happened before. Upon speaking with the representative he stated that lately there have been a lot of unsavory characters that have visited this location and as a result he didn't want my son in the store by himself. I asked him if this was gamestops policy? In which he replied no but rather his policy. I asked what did he mean by " unsavory characters" and if he was profiling my son based in his nationality and or appearance based on the clothes he was wearing ( he had on a hat that had said money on it, and some washable kids Halloween tattoos on his arms and face) he said he was not profiling. I told him I am across the street and will be there in a few minutes. When I arrived before I can figure out who the rep was , and when I signed my son the rep who identified himself to me as " Joe " said loudly as I was walking through the door " NO ,NO,NO, I AM NOT DEALING WITH THIS BOTH YOU AND YOUR SON NEED TO GET OUT AND ARE NOT ALLOWED IN MY STORE". I was shocked at this because all I did was enter the store and never said anything at this point because I didn't know who the worker was and was coming into to the store to go to my son and find out what the issue was with the worker. The worker proceeded to tell me that if I don't leave the store with my son he will call the cops on and charge me with trespassing. This was something that was extremely shocking, embarrassing, and out of nowhere. I told the worker Joe why was he was doing this and that I wasn't going to leave but would like to wait for the policy myself to file a complaint. Joe said we need to get out as he felt unsafe. Joe did indeed call the police on both my son and myself. My son and I have visited many gamestops over the years in Westchester,Yonkers, Bronx, New York city, brooklyn, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Queens, etc and never once have we ever experienced this horrible encounter. And never once has my son ever been told that he cannot shop in a GameStop location by himself and needed an adults presence especially a paying customer in a store that is geared towards kids that has video games, and toys, and posters, and many different items geared towards kids. Never have I ever been subjected to this treatment as a patron entering into a store being told that I am not allowed in the store and I was kicked out especially as an adult and a paying customer. Both my son and myself was most certainly targeted by this unprofessional employee.

Experiencia negativa: I will never buy online to pick up at this store EVER AGAIN! I placed an online order that was cancelled an hour after placing it which was SATURDAY! Well the charge is still pending in my account. I call the store and a rep told me it should have been refunded….YA THINK! he then says to call customer service but they are telling me they may have to force the hold to be released. WHAT! I Spoke with PANCHO TODAY WHO WAS SO RUDE AND HE HANGS UP ON ME! NOBODY WANTS TO WORK !! He disconnects the call and talked over me the whole time (UNPROFESSIONAL)Then they are telling me i gotta wait 5 business for them to investigate or figure why the hold is still there !! Experiencia negativa: Horrible service. Associates there just want to upsell you. Management will only help you out if you complain to corporate. Noone ever answers the phone. Employees are only there to upsell not to recommend or to answer questions. I have complain to management citing several issues already with this location and the Cross County location. I would not recommend visiting this store at Central Avenue or the Cross County location both are run by the same people both are absolutely horrible. Associates have ripped me off at the store on one occasion one associate stole the video game that I just purchased. In addition to the various times both of the stores were robbed I would not recommend visiting either of these two stores

Experiencia negativa: By far the worst customer service. Staff are completely arrogant and are useless. They never pick up the phone and when they do they give attitude like I ruined their day for calling. One star is being generous I highly recommend not going to this gamestop.

Experiencia fantástica: Very polite , helpful, and very informative. Reminded me of the good ol gamestop days. Actually made me want to come back. They followed Covid protocols which made me feel safe which was a plus. Will definitely return.

Experiencia negativa: Presented my tax exempt form to the manager and he stated that something was unusual about it, pretty much insinuating that I was trying to scam them but trying to avoid saying it. When I told him that other locations accept it without an issue, he went to the back and pretended to speak to his "boss" for ten minutes and gave me a run around story. Nothing worst than being profiled and stereotyped when trying to spend your hard earned money somewhere. Never going back here again. Hands down the worst service and experience.
