Also getting the rewards membership is a no-brainer. $5 each and every month towards a purchase! I have enough points for a free $100 AND a free $50 voucher, it adds up quick!
Experiencia negativa: You guys close at 7pm on Sunday. I come to the store at 4:30 pm and the doors are locked. Why the hell do you have the doors locked during your business hours? Two guys were in the store when we tried to enter. You think they came and open the door? No! Disappointing. You lost some business today Game Stop!
Experiencia negativa: Horrible Customer Service. Associates yell at Customers over the phone when Customers inquire about why they haven’t been notified of a PreOrdered game that has arrived, and inquire about why they haven’t been notified. Customers are advised that store inventory keeps the employees from notifying the customers who preordered games. Store Inventory in an almost bare store, shouldn’t keep an Associate from completing their assigned job tasks. When asking for a Corporate Number to make an official complaint, they deflect and state that they do not give phone numbers for corporate, as it is not their job or required of them. Was told to call another store to obtain Corporate Complaint Number. When calling the other local store, customers are advised that this information can be obtained from Google, but then gave the information. Funny how it can all just be given to the customer without unnecessary comments. Store inventory is slim to none and the available items are severely overpriced and they price gouge. They lowball you on games and consoles that you want to trade in for store credit. The store associates are never really doing anything for them to treat their customers the way they do. A corporate complaint has been filed and I was advised that I will receive a follow up call to review all necessary actions that GameStop is to take. Consumer Discretion is Advised!

Experiencia negativa: Hi, we bought an Xbox on December 12th and received it January 24th. We had issues the entire time trying to recieve the Xbox and trying to get help through customer service and also emailed GameStop multiple times with no feedback or help. When we did receive the Xbox, it was thrown in a box with paper, it did not work and the controller constantly disconnected from the console. We went into the GameStop in Springfield, IL on Dirksen and they were also no help. They said the computers were down for all the GameStop stores. I asked if we could exchange the console for a different one and they said there was none. So we got back in the car and went to the GameStop store on Veterans parkway. We walked in and asked if the computers were down and they said no, they haven't had any issues with their computers all day. In saying that, the manager at the Dirksen store lied straight to our faces. The two gentlemen that worked at the Veterans store figured out what we needed to do and helped return the defective Xbox. I have been a member of GameStop for many years and this was very disappointing with having all these issues happen and no one cared to help us out. After 15 years of using GameStop, we will no longer be returning. It's a shame.

Experiencia negativa: Not even worth 1 star. Was not very happy. Called last night to verify that an item was in. Told that it was. Got to the store at 10 am when they were supposed to open, they didn't open. Sat there for 20 minutes before leaving. Called at 1030 and was met with rudeness from the employee. I understand that they worked black Friday and had to work late. But put a sign on the door if your gonna make the choice to open an HOUR later! Walked in when they finally opened, was ignored till the employee saw my boyfriend was with me. He was met with rudeness as well when he asked for the item. Got told they sold out last night. When questioned the employee ignored us. Will NOT be going back to this store ever. And will be calling corporate.

Experiencia negativa: On 7/22/23, I visited the gamestop on north Dirksen Parkway. On this visit I was shopping for the eevee evolutions Pokémon box set and some booster packs. I found the eevee evolutions box that I wanted, but the box was damaged, there were at least six more of them on the top shelf. So I kindly asked Cameron to bring me a box down from the top self that was not damaged. He brought one down and put the box and my booster packs in the bag. I never did see them as they were put in the bag, But when I arrived home and took out the eevee evolutions box, I found out that he had picked a box that was more damaged than the one on the floor. As a result I am not to pleased with him, because to me, he purposely picked a more damaged box. A damaged box means that the cards inside could be damaged as well. I paid good money for these items and should be able to get the ones that i wanted and in good condition.
Experiencia positiva: Run of the mill Gamestop, with the exception that this one randomly closes throughout the day with no notice or indication of when it will reopen. Also an indicator of the service to be expected (until it's time for the sales pitch at checkout anyway). Try other locations if possible.

They also have collectables like Funko pops, Pokemon cards and accessories, lots of board games, video games and accessories, the "it" YouTube toys at the time, and so much more! They also take used games and consoles. You can trade them in for store credit or take cash for them. The best part of this, I wish more places did this, is you can go on their website and look up the games you are trading to see if they take that particular game. It also tells you how much they will offer for store credit and for cash.

I've lived in apartments bigger than these game stores. I think they would benefit from some bigger store fronts. Put out some posters and cutouts to invite people in. But there just simply wasn't room to do that. Other than that, no complaints.

I went in tonight and was met with an employee that was very rude, had attitude for a simple misunderstanding, and gave me and my family horrible service. The quality of the products was awful and the quantity is slim. I went to the other game stop in Springfield and was welcomed with a much more pleasant experience. I will definitely never come back to this one and would highly recommend nobody else did either.
Experiencia negativa: This occurred on 01-09-2021 at about 6:30 PM. I called the store about trading in games (I live an hour away) and I was told that trading games is acceptable and the phone call ended at that. When I arrived, the middle aged man working the store rang up my games and asked for an id (which wasn't a problem because I have my temporary and with the pandemic I was under the impression that though it was expired that this would be acceptable) but upon handing him my id I received immediate attitude in front of my wife and two younger siblings as he told me "I should have known I couldn't use it if it is expired" when on the phone having my id at all was not even mentioned nor that my state license wouldn't be accepted either. I asked if there was anything I could do and questioned if a picture of my wife's id would be okay to use and he said that would be fine. After going through the trouble of getting the picture of my wifes drivers license the employee proceeded to laugh at us and claim he never said anything of the sort where he then turned around, left us at the counter as he said to have a nice day. I was kind and understanding about the situation but I did not expect to drive an hour away after calling about videogame trade ins to be met with such disrespect and attitude as I and my family received tonight. I will not be coming back.

Experiencia negativa: Had a pretty unprofessional experience. First of all, was not greeted, even though everyone that came in after me was. I was ignored for a full 2 minutes at the register while the employee was on the phone. Couldn't even be bothered to say anything like I'll be right with you. Transaction was disjointed, stopping multiple times. Didn't even ask if I had an account or any of the usual spiel, literally no talking at all, besides you're all set. Will never shop there again.

Staff provides excellent customer service, and the person who helped me went above and beyond, checking on several other items and recommending related products. They have a little bit of everything now, not just video games, so it's worth a look. They have board games, card games, puzzles, some apparel, and lots of figurines and collector items. They will also buy phones!

He was looking for a Game stop exclusive toy and they got on the computer and found one, had it shipped to the store and called us when it came in. Another time a Manager drove to another store and picked up something for us. They have AMAZING employees that go above and beyond for the customer. I'm so glad the best Game stop in town is right down the way from home. Thank you for all the times you have come through for my family.

Experiencia positiva: I'm not a video game fan but I have 2 boys so I'm stuck. Anyway, The store is laid out well. Everything is separated by gaming system so it's easy to find what you need. The employees were very helpful and friendly. We did have an issue that caused us to have to come back the next day but everything was resolved quickly and painlessly.
