Fantastic experience: I stopped by this game store recently and was honestly blown away. My first impression was that while it’s a smaller shop, they carry a really great selection of video games and TCG products. You can tell the owners and staff actually care about what they stock instead of just filling shelves. I’ll admit, it’s always a little nerve-racking walking into a new place, especially a card shop where you don’t already have a rapport with the staff or regulars. But the second we walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff went out of their way to help us, chat, answer questions, and even made sure we knew about upcoming Pokémon card releases. What really stood out is how easy they make it for actual fans and families to buy Pokémon cards. Big box stores have made it almost impossible lately, but these guys clearly care more about players and collectors actually getting product into their hands. My kids were absolutely hyped to finally find a place where they could easily get cards, rip packs, and enjoy the hobby without all the stress. Recently, I was hosting a LAN party with friends and looked around everywhere for a masterchief collection disc, and when I went here to look they didn’t have it on the shelves. I asked the owner Matt, who went out of his way to find it in the back when he didn’t need to. This is the care they bring to every interaction and I’ll always remember that. Awesome atmosphere, awesome people, and a great shop overall. We’ll definitely be back regularly. Shoutout to Matt and Alex. You now have a regular patron.

Fantastic experience: Don’t let the small exterior fool you, much like the Tardis it is larger on the inside. They have several rooms dedicated to TCG play(pokemon, magic, riftbound).With a great selection of retro games, consoles, tcg accessories, and dice. The staff is friendly and helpful. I travel often and visit a lot of game stores, and The Gaming Vault stands out as one of the best I’ve ever seen. If you’re anywhere in the DFW area, this store is a must-visit. Fantastic experience: I love this store. The owner Matt seems to live there lol (not really he just works all the time and can expect him to be there all the time before 5pm) great place to get games and support a local small business, and Matt deserves it, he shows great customer service and is always happy to help. You can also buy stuff like Pokémon cards and Warhammer minis and paint for them, I'm not into any of that so I don't really know much else of what he has but hey, there's a bunch of cool nerdy stuff there. They have a thorough selection of games new and old anlong with a wide inventory of MTG boosters and are knowledgeable about the game. It’s a great place to hang out too and that’s mainly because of the atmosphere of the store. Very homely and dimly lit(in a good way). It’s easily evident that they have built a wonderful community over their 3 years. I’ve spent hours up there just chatting with their very cordial and welcoming staff. Matt does a fantastic job here and runs this store very well. Happy 3 year anniversary fellas!

Fantastic experience: I found the Gaming Vault about a year ago and was greeted by the Owner upon entry. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. His passion for gaming and tabletop gaming is very apparent from the get go. My first impression of the store was that it was VERY clean, smelled nice and very organized, unlike some other stores in the DFW area. Everything in the store is very reasonably priced. This has been my go to spot for games and Magic The Gathering and prerelease events. Highly recommend the Gaming Vault.

Negative experience: I called on a Saturday asking if I could trade in a PlayStation 2 system and some games. I was told they do take trades and I was welcome to come in. When I arrived at 5:05, and the store closes at 10:00 p.m., I was told by the gentleman behind the counter that "we don't do trade-ins after 5:00." When I asked why I hadn't been told that when planning to come, I wasn't able to be given a good reason. I asked if I had showed up 10 minutes earlier if that had been the case, and was also told that even if I had, he himself was unable to do trade-ins anyway and so I wouldn't have been able to. I asked when a good time to come in for trades was, and was told 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, which is of course all inside regular working hours. The entire trip was a waste of my time and very frustrating, though the gentleman behind the counter was very apologetic.

Fantastic experience: This is a great store with a solid selection. I stopped in a whim to check out a local shop and found a pleasant conversation with the owner who sold me a rare Bonus Disc for the GameCube for a fair price. Shop Locally when you can, and this is a fantastic local shop.

Negative experience: Sold Prismatic ETB's at 115 on 1-17. Scalping prices… “combat resellers and scalpers”, by selling at the prices they are currently selling it.

Fantastic experience: I was greeted with a smile at the door and offered assistance to find the items I was shopping for. I’m unfamiliar with some of the items my kids want for Christmas but the owner was very helpful - taking his time to help me select the products I needed. He even suggested another product that I wasn’t shopping for but me and the kids ended up really liking. You can tell how proud the man was of his store by how clean and organized the entire place was. All of his items were in great condition, free of clutter and dust. He’s got some rare items that collectors and enthusiasts are certainly in search of, so if you’re looking for niche items be sure to give him a ring. The whole place smells great including the (card game rooms) and the restroom. The aesthetic was really cool and the overall vibe was class. Very comfortable and welcoming. He’s got a schedule of events, the way I understood it was that he hosts card game tournaments throughout the month where you can go in and compete in friendly matches. Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the gaming vault!! I can't say enough good things!! All the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. When I decided to get into Magic, the employee working was so kind to take time to explain some of it to me and help me pick out a precon deck. The owner is especially kind. I came in a few days ago, and he remembered from a previous convo that I've been looking for pokemon games to complete my collection and immediately alerted me that he got more in. Besides the video games, I've played some Magic in the Vault, too, and their rooms are so nice. The other customers who I've interacted with are also wonderful!! I think they've done a great job at cultivating a fun and friendly community vibe.

Fantastic experience: New favorite place to meander older video games. Found The Gaming Vault on google and my Girlfriend and I stopped in to look at the selection. We found a variety from every game system I could think of. I found some of my favorite games from my childhood in Xbox games, PlayStation 2 games, and even Nintendo. After getting to browse I got to add 2 SoulsBourne games to my selection and RD2 all for better prices than I’ve seen at any other retro game store. Owner was friendly and conversational but also let us just browse and talk between ourselves and was super knowledgeable about any games or questions we have. We absolutely will be back to pick up the few games I had to leave behind!

Everything seemed reasonably priced compared to other places I've been to - let's just say some spots are really going off eBay prices, which doesn't mean that's what they actually sell for! *cough cough*. This spot has a fantastic selection of games and trading cards, so I've already found some new favorites. I will definitely be back to this place for more browsing and hopefully some new additions to my collection.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the cleanest and most well presented gaming stores in the area. They respect your time and offer fair prices along with a very wide variety of products spanning TCGs, video games, and war games. It's very surprising how much product they manage to cram into their floor space but still make it very presentable. If there was anything to complain about, it would be the play space available to community members. The rooms they have are small and kind of cramped. The proprietor of the store is also very personable. I wholly recommend that you spend your time and money at The Gaming Vault!
